In the 1970s, a spontaneous night vegetable market began to form in the center of Da Lat city. Those who had vegetable gardens would carry their produce to the market for sale after the harvest season. In the following years, horse-drawn carriage services for transporting vegetables became popular. At that time, the population of Da Lat was sparse, and the thick fog at night made the kerosene lamps of the vendors flicker. The blurry movement of people in the mist created a mysterious scene, leading the locals to marvel and name it Am Phu Market (also known as Da Lat Night Market).
Am Phu Market is where tourists can immerse themselves in the cool mountainous atmosphere at night. The market operates from 7 to 8 pm until 3 to 4 am. Visitors to the market come in various types, regardless of who they are, as long as they want to enjoy a lively, bustling market atmosphere at night.
