Many isekai characters initially rub viewers the wrong way. Some are downright despicable, while others are just plain dull. However, as these characters develop over time, they become increasingly intriguing. Viewers can clearly see and appreciate this transformation.
5. Re: Zero - Rem
Rem emerged as one of the most beloved characters of the last decade, thanks to her actions in the anime. From the outset, she repeatedly sought to brutally murder Subaru, regardless of his attempts to change her and her sister's minds. After Subaru managed to persuade Rem and her sister to cease their hostilities, Rem became one of Subaru's closest allies. Her diligent and trustworthy nature gradually eroded the initial negative impression audiences held of her.

Yuka is one of the main characters in Standing On A Million Lives. The main character of Jobless Reincarnation is a NEET who died after a long time of being alienated and ridiculed by those around him. When reincarnated into another world, he still retains his memories and old personality, which makes him have quite twisted actions and thoughts. Audiences may not like Rudy for this reason, but in the latter half of the story, Rudy tries to make up for the mistakes he made in his past life. Rudy gradually corrects his bad traits, does the right thing, and helps people.
2. Log Horizon - Shiroe
Shiroe is the main character in Log Horizon. Initially, he doesn't stand out much compared to Kirito, except for his distinctive pair of glasses. However, what endears Shiroe to fans is his concern for the world and those around him. He's an anti-hero, but not the completely ruthless type - he just wants to do everything to make the world a better place.
