Nestled within the majestic Hoang Lien Son mountain range, the Chế Tạo Forest is hailed as a pristine haven, boasting a rich variety of broadleaf, coniferous trees, and lush vegetation with 788 high-level plant species. Its fauna is equally diverse and unique, housing rare species such as the black gibbon, Indochinese serow, purple cochoa, and gray-shanked douc langur. With 788 high-level plant species belonging to 480 genera, 147 families, and 5 orders, including 33 rare species listed in the Vietnam and global Red Books, this Conservation Area stands out for its rich biodiversity. Among these are 2 critically endangered species, 4 endangered species, and 7 rare species. Additionally, there are 190 species of timber trees spanning 54 families, predominantly the rosewood and miscellaneous hardwood groups.
