1. Letter to Our Brave Soldiers on Distant Isles and Borders #1
Dear soldiers on the Truong Sa Islands,
My name is Nguyen Hoai Nam, a fifth-grade student at Thanh Da Elementary School in Phuc Tho, Hanoi. Today, I am writing this letter to congratulate you on the occasion of December 22nd.
Dear soldiers! I have never had the chance to visit Truong Sa Islands, but when I see the images on TV, newspapers, and radio, I admire and sympathize with you greatly. Seeing you working hard, guarding and protecting our borders, I am deeply moved. And do you know, I also want to become an island soldier like you when I grow up. I will try my best to train and study to have good health and knowledge, then contribute to building and defending the country like you.
Oh, I almost forgot, are you all healthy out there? Please take care of your health. On the occasion of December 22nd approaching, I want to send the best and most meaningful wishes to you. I wish you all good health and happiness, always holding your guns firmly and completing every assigned task.
My letter has been long enough. I will stop writing here. Hope one day I will have the chance to visit you on the islands.
Sincerely,
Hoai Nam

......on the...day of...month...year.......
Today, I write this letter to send my wishes of health and sincere feelings deep from the heart of every student to you, our dear soldiers. I hope you are all healthy and strong, holding your guns firmly to protect a part of the blood and flesh of our homeland, our country. According to us, we know that you are working very hard and under a lot of stress in your duty as soldiers to protect our homeland's islands and seas.
In the midst of the vast ocean, with waves crashing loudly all year round, we understand that you face many difficult challenges: the harshness of the climate, the material and spiritual shortages of everyone, the loneliness and sadness of you all in the silent night... but don't be sad! We greatly admire and respect the silent sacrifice of you, the soldiers - the dedicated sons and daughters of our Motherland.
From this admiration, from the mainland, we have organized many practical activities to strive alongside you, our soldiers on distant islands. We strive for excellence in our studies to achieve many perfect scores to honor you who are defending our country. During flag-raising ceremonies, we listen to our teachers talk about the significance of December 22nd, the day of the establishment of the People's Army of Vietnam, and learn about the Vietnamese people in general and about you in particular...
Our school has also launched many movements such as fundraising to support Truong Sa, fundraising to buy radios, guitars, writing letters to you soldiers in Truong Sa... And we also try to achieve many good academic results to make our country more beautiful day by day.
In conclusion, I wish you all good health to protect the islands and seas. I promise to study hard and be obedient to become a soldier who contributes to building a more beautiful country in the future.
Your obedient child!
