1. Grilled Skewered Meat
Ingredients
- 500g pork shoulder (or pork belly)
- 1 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 - 3 dried shallots
- 2 - 3 cloves garlic
- Black pepper, white sesame seeds
- Skewers
Instructions:
- Step 1: Wash the meat thoroughly, slice into thin pieces. Peel and finely chop the shallots and garlic. Marinate the meat with the seasoning mixture
- Step 2: Mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and finely chopped shallots and garlic. Then coat the meat with this mixture and marinate for 2 - 3 hours for the flavors to infuse. Remember to wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate to reduce meat moisture. Skewer the meat and place in the microwave
- Step 3: Skewer the meat onto bamboo skewers and place in the microwave on Grill mode. Grill the skewers for about 20 - 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking. You can brush some oil on the meat to prevent it from drying out.
- Step 4: Once grilled, arrange the cooked meat on a plate and sprinkle with white sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot for the best flavor.
2. Honey-Glazed Grilled Chicken

- 1 free-range chicken (about 1kg - 1.5kg)
- 3 teaspoons of honey (or 4 teaspoons)

Cooking Sticky Rice
Ingredients and tools:
- 100g glutinous rice.
- 100g peeled mung beans.
- 100ml coconut milk.
- 50g sugar.
- Salt, cooking oil.
- Water.
- Bowl or heat-resistant bowl.
- Food wrapping film.
- Microwave oven.
Steps:
Step 1: Cooking Sticky Rice:
- Soak glutinous rice overnight. Put the rice in a bowl, add ½ teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of oil, and coconut milk, mix well. Wrap with food wrapping film and put it in the microwave, set to High mode for 6 minutes.
- Take out the sticky rice, stir well, wrap with food wrapping film again, and put it back in the microwave, set to High mode for another 6 minutes. Take it out, add 10g of sugar, mix well until the rice becomes sticky.
Step 2: Cooking Mung Beans:
- Soak mung beans overnight. Put them in a bowl, add ½ teaspoon of salt, pour water until it covers the surface. Wrap with food wrapping film and put it in the microwave, set to High mode for 6 minutes.
- Take out, stir lightly, then put it back in the microwave, set to High mode for another 6 minutes. Take it out, add 40g of sugar, mix and crush the mung beans.
Step 3: Enjoy the Creamy Sticky Rice Dish:
Mix the mung beans and sticky rice together to have a delicious and quickly prepared sticky rice dish.
Roasted Chicken with Salt and Chili
Ingredients and tools for 4 people:
- 1 free-range chicken (about 1 - 1.2kg)
- 20 lime leaves
- 5 finely chopped red chili peppers
- Cooking utensils: Knife, cutting board, microwave oven
Steps:
Step 1: Prepare ingredients:
- Rub the chicken with salt to remove any odor, wash it clean, and let it dry.
- Mix the seasoning ingredients for marinating the chicken: 5 finely chopped red chili peppers, 1 teaspoon of MSG, 2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of pepper, 1 teaspoon of white wine, 1 finely chopped garlic clove, 3 teaspoons of cooking oil, 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder.
- Marinate the chicken with the spice mixture and let it sit for 1 hour to absorb the flavors.
Step 2: Roast the chicken:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C for about 15 minutes before roasting. Then put the chicken in and roast for about 1 hour until cooked.
Step 3: Finished product:
Serve the roasted chicken with lime leaves sliced into strips to enhance the flavor of the dish.

Microwave Flan
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 300ml unsweetened fresh milk
- 100ml condensed milk
- Sugar
- Water
Steps:
Step 1: Making caramel: Put 1/2 teaspoon of sugar into each cup, add a tablespoon of water, put it in the microwave at high power for 5 minutes. When the time is up, take the cup out, the sugar has turned into a brown color. Add a tablespoon of water and 1/2 tablespoon of sugar to the cup to make caramel.
Step 2: Mix fresh milk with condensed milk, stir well, put it in the microwave at high power for 5 minutes. Beat the eggs with an egg beater, strain through a sieve, and add to the milk mixture taken from the microwave.
Step 3: Make flan, pour the egg-milk mixture into each caramel cup, put it in the microwave at medium-low power for 9 minutes. When done, take it out of the microwave and let it cool.
This completes the microwave flan recipe in less than 30 minutes. Note that the flan will taste better when chilled.
Steamed Fish Dish
Ingredients:
- 600g fresh fish
- 3 stems of scallions
- A little cilantro
- 1 piece of ginger
- 2 chili peppers
- 1 tomato
- 500ml soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
Instructions:
Step 1: First, peel and clean the ginger, then slice it into strips and put it in a clean bowl.
Step 2: Next, prepare a clean bowl, add sesame oil, soy sauce, and sugar to the bowl, then stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 3: Clean the fish and arrange it on a large microwave-safe plate. Put the sliced ginger into the soy sauce mixture and mix well.
Step 4: Rub the ginger-soy sauce mixture evenly over the entire fish, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then flip it over to allow the fish to absorb the seasoning better.
Step 5: Wrap the fish plate tightly with plastic wrap.
Step 6: Then, place the fish plate in the microwave, turn on the microwave at a cooking mode for about 6 minutes. After 6 minutes, leave the fish plate in the microwave, let the fish cool down for about 5 minutes, then turn on the cooking mode for another 4 minutes to cook the fish. If you are not using a microwave, you will steam the fish in a water bath for about 15 minutes until the fish is evenly cooked.
Step 7: After the fish is cooked, remove it from the microwave and remove the plastic wrap.
Step 8: Finally, sprinkle some scallions and cilantro on the fish, if you like it spicy, add a few slices of chili, and you can enjoy it. Because steaming fish in the microwave is very hot, when you add scallions and cilantro to the fish, they will cook very quickly.
