1. Honda Air Blade
- Market Price: from 20 – 40 million VND depending on the model
As the leading successful scooter model of Honda Vietnam in particular and the motorcycle market in general, Honda Air Blade is loved by many for its user-responsive design, powerful engine, and reasonable price.
Honda Air Blade was first introduced in 2007 with a single headlight, inheriting from the Honda Click series. Over the years, Honda has released various versions of Honda Air Blade, with the 2018 model being the latest design.
However, there's a trend among users who prefer to use older models of Honda Air Blade. Even though they are used, they can be more expensive than new ones, especially the 2009 and 2014 versions. These models, with unique designs, have maintained popularity over the years.
In reality, Honda Air Blade, in general, holds its value well. These scooters are known for their durability over time, and the more you use them, the sleeker and more beautiful they become.
Despite the external appearance downgrading, the engine still runs smoothly and fuel-efficient. Therefore, users can be completely assured when buying older models of Honda Air Blade. However, it's advisable not to buy very old Honda Air Blade models from unfamiliar sources, as they may have been used extensively, posing a high risk of engine issues. If you still want to buy, bring along someone knowledgeable about bikes to inspect the engine and ensure trouble-free usage.

2. Yamaha Grande
- Market Price: 24 – 35 million VND depending on the model
Yamaha Grande is a highly popular scooter, especially among women. As Lunar New Year approaches, used Yamaha Grande scooters are widely advertised. So, what makes this model so popular? Let's explore before deciding to buy a used Yamaha Grande.
Most users agree that the external appearance of Yamaha's scooter suits women more than men. Compared to other competitors, this is Grande's strength. For example, SH Mode is suitable for both men and women due to Honda's neutral and conservative design style. Grande's highlight is the front of the scooter with a chrome-plated arrow covered in a black resin array in front, horizontally above is a modern white LED strip.
If Lead has the largest trunk of Honda, then Yamaha has Grande. Also thanks to the rounded body, Grande's trunk is quite large. However, two half-face helmets, handbags, and many other items can fit in Grande's trunk. Therefore, the 'transportation' capability of the used Yamaha scooter is much better than many scooters in the same class. Thanks to the super-light Blue Core engine, Grande's weight is an impressive 99 kg. Because of this strength, Yamaha's scooter has a superior advantage, especially for women when they have to walk with the scooter, turn around, or use the center stand.
Behind the front shield, Grande arranges the fuel tank lid on the left and the lock on the right. When refueling, just press the button next to the lock to open the fuel tank lid on the opposite side. Refueling becomes a simple task for girls compared to having to get off the scooter to open the trunk before unscrewing the fuel tank lid. Not only is it lightweight, but this attractive scooter also brings fuel efficiency by optimizing engine performance. According to tests, Grande consumes 2.1 liters of fuel per 100 km in the city. This is quite an impressive fuel consumption rate for a Yamaha scooter.

3. Honda Vision
- Market Price: 18 – 30 million VND depending on the model
Firstly, what we can perceive is that the price when you buy a used Honda Vision will be much cheaper than a new Honda Vision. New Honda Vision scooters have only been introduced to our market for a few years now. That's why the opportunities to own and use a still-good used scooter are entirely possible.
This is also one of the important criteria that make many people choose to buy a used scooter to reduce financial pressure while still having the opportunity to experience a hot model at the moment. For a used Honda Vision scooter, you only spend about 70 to 80% of the initial amount, and with the remaining savings, you can use it for many different purposes.
When choosing a used Honda Vision scooter, the first thing you need to pay attention to is the overall condition of the scooter. Is it still new? Is there any scratch or breakage? It is best to do this in a well-lit place.
Observe the evenness of the details and the paint color carefully to see if any part is newer, indicating that the scooter has undergone repairs and replacements. You should ask the owner carefully about why those details had to be replaced.
Check the overall condition of the engine exterior: not too scratched or deformed, screws are not bent or distorted. Start the engine and check the engine sound: no roaring, buzzing, or strange noises. Rev the engine to the maximum; if there is white smoke, it indicates a problem with the engine.

4. Piaggio Liberty ABS 125
- Market Price: 37 – 45 million VND depending on the model
Officially introduced to the Vietnamese market since early October 2015, Piaggio Liberty ABS has been slightly redesigned to make it even more outstanding in the eyes of consumers, already highly rated for its appearance. In the high-end scooter segment, the new generation Liberty with an advanced ABS anti-lock braking system will directly compete with its heavyweight competitor, the Honda SH Mode.
The design of the scooter carries a strong, stylish, luxurious, elegant Italian style, with 4 versions: Liberty 125 ABS, Liberty S 125 ABS, Liberty SE U23 VN, Liberty Italia. The new Piaggio Liberty 2017 ABS has made a strong impression thanks to the addition of bright chrome metal details in many positions on the scooter. This is a new trend that is quite popular in modern cars and is gradually spreading to the design of high-end motorcycles.
The Piaggio Liberty ABS 2018 is the latest version of the scooter, upgraded from the Liberty 125. Liberty scooters are introduced to the Vietnamese market with 2 high-end versions ABS, S ABS with many sophisticated, luxurious, modern, high-end color options, bearing the European style, satisfying the diverse needs of customers. Piaggio Liberty ABS is also modernized in terms of technology, with integrated LED position lights and turn signals on the scooter's front fairing, and the taillight is similarly changed. The scooter is equipped with a modern ABS anti-lock braking system to prevent the front wheel from locking up during sudden braking or when riding on slippery roads.

5. Yamaha NVX
- Market Price: 35 – 45 million VND depending on the model
According to surveys, men aged 22 to 35 are the group with the highest demand for buying and changing motorcycles. For those who love sporty scooters but dislike manual or large-displacement bikes, they often consider whether to buy Yamaha NVX. In the market, this is a relatively new model seen as the powerful warrior of Yamaha in the standard sporty scooter segment.
In December 2016, the sporty scooter Yamaha NVX was first introduced to the Vietnamese market. With NVX, Yamaha wants to create a separate price segment and customer base, positioning it slightly higher than its predecessor, the Nouvo-based Air Blade.
Thanks to the Blue Core engine, NVX has significantly fuel-efficient consumption. Through tests, 1 liter of petrol is consumed for 40.7km in urban areas, equivalent to 2.46L/100km. Meanwhile, the LCD screen on the scooter indicates an average fuel consumption of 41km/L, relatively accurate compared to the actual figure. The large fuel tank holds up to 4.5 liters, located under the scooter's belly. Just turn the key to the Open mode and press the 'Fuel' button, and the plastic cap will pop up.
For those who love speed but fear accidents or uncontrollable risks on slippery roads, NVX is an ideal choice. Recently, Yamaha has equipped the ABS anti-lock braking system on the front disc brake for all versions of NVX 155 to limit wheel skidding during sudden braking or deceleration (the standard version is not equipped with this feature). The Smartkey smart lock system allows ignition with just one button press without the need for a key. The temporary engine cut-off system 'Stop/Start System – SSS' activates when the scooter slows down to 0 km/h on the high-end version, maximizing fuel efficiency.

6. Honda LEAD
- Market Price: 18 – 40 million VND depending on the model
Honda Lead is one of Honda's most successful and popular models. However, not everyone can afford to buy a brand new motorcycle. Therefore, many people have chosen to buy a used Lead to own their favorite bike at a lower price. However, buying a second-hand motorcycle also poses many drawbacks that you may encounter without experience in inspecting bikes.
If you can go with someone experienced in motorcycles, that's good. Otherwise, you should carefully check the important details after buying a used motorcycle:
- The braking system still works well: You can test it or lift the scooter, then operate the wheels at high speed and squeeze the brake to see if it responds well.
- The speedometer and fuel gauge are still functioning well, not malfunctioning.
- The turn signal and tail lights are normal, not burnt out.
- The scooter feels smooth, stable, not heavy, and no strange noises while operating.
- It's recommended to buy from the original owner with clear paperwork.
To own a brand new Lead, you will have to spend at least 40 million VND. However, if you are lucky to buy a used Lead, depending on the mileage and the exterior condition of the scooter, you can save from 8 to 20 million VND.
Honda scooters are always highly rated for the durability of the engine and good fuel efficiency, and Honda Lead is one of them. With a beautiful design, spacious trunk, and suitable size for Vietnamese people, Honda Lead is one of the most popular Honda models today, especially among office women.

7. Vespa LX 125/150
- Market Price: 20 – 40 million VND depending on the model
Although appearing in the Vietnamese motorcycle market since the 1950s, Vespa has never been considered an outdated model. Continuously improved and upgraded, with elegant and classic lines, combined with high-end fashion style, Vespa is still the dream scooter for many. However, to afford a brand-new Vespa as desired, within budget, is not achievable for everyone. Moreover, every year, the Piaggio family welcomes new members, only differing in color and some simple designs, not much different from the old models. So, why not consider buying a used Vespa? It helps save additional purchasing costs, and when you want to change to another scooter, selling a Vespa does not incur too much loss.
If you find it budget-friendly and want to make a purchase, it's best to bring someone with experience in motorcycle trading when you go to inspect the scooter. They will provide useful insights to avoid situations where you buy a scooter that needs immediate repairs. Don't be tempted by cheap scooters, as they can't guarantee quality afterward.
Most Vespa scooters imported to Vietnam have their frames reinforced by the manufacturer. Therefore, when checking the scooter, carefully observe the frame, fenders, and especially the joints with the frame. According to the experience of buying and selling used Vespas, a good scooter will have a harmonious frame system. Therefore, you should check if the frame number and engine number are different. The engine number is located under the engine block, near the clutch cable and clutch plate, while the frame number is under the left trunk! Also, don't forget to check under the scooter, the kickstand, to see if there is any rust. Make sure it is firm, not deformed, to ensure absolute safety when using.
If the kickstand is not rusty or loose, lift the kickstand and stand three meters away to see if the scooter is unbalanced, tilted, or shifted. Then, to check the elasticity of the spring on the seat, sit on the seat and bounce several times.
If the wheel rim shows signs of being reversed, it indicates a previous collision. When you sit on it, check the scooter's suspension, and if the shock absorber makes a creaking sound, Chú Gióng advises you not to buy that scooter again. Because if you do, you will lose an additional amount for scooter upgrades, and safety and quality will be hard to guarantee.
Don't overlook small details like brakes, horn, engine stop button, tail light, exhaust pipe, rubber gaskets, and gas cap...

8. SYM Shark Mini
- Market Price: 20 – 28 million VND depending on the model
At the Vietnam Motorcycle Show in April 2016, SYM officially introduced the new scooter model named Shark Mini 125. In the Vietnamese market, SYM Shark Mini 125 has two versions: a standard version with color options of red and white, and a sports version with two colors: black and green. The scooter's dimensions (1,940 x 715 x 1,105)mm, combined with a ground clearance of 130mm, make it easy to navigate through the city and handle rough roads, ramps, and sidewalks. The large 14-inch twisted 5-spoke wheels enhance feedback balance between flexibility and stability when handling various driving situations.
Shark Mini also has a feminine design, quite similar to its competitor Honda Vision but adds distinctive touches with prominent lines to create a strong presence. The streamlined front end features two symmetrical turn signals with modern blue LED position lights and a simple-shaped Halogen headlight. The instrument cluster combines analog and a small digital display for easy monitoring. The tail of the scooter appears more robust, applying a blocky shape and sharp lines.

9. Yamaha Janus
- Market Price: 20 – 30 million VND depending on the model
The Yamaha Janus 2017 is a popular scooter among many ladies nowadays due to its competitive price, beautiful design, modern technology, and engine. The Yamaha Janus is undoubtedly an ideal choice for women looking to buy a scooter.

When the scooter stops for more than 5 seconds, the system will automatically shut down the engine. You just need to accelerate, and the system will restart immediately. The SSS system can be turned on/off with a toggle button. This technology, combined with the Blue Core engine, optimizes fuel efficiency and helps you save significant costs.

10. Yamaha Acruzo
- Market Price: 25 – 35 million VND depending on the model
Introduced for the first time in 2015, Yamaha Acruzo created quite a buzz in this already crowded scooter market. After the initial success with Nozza Grande in the premium scooter segment, Yamaha continued to conduct many surveys on customers. With the result of 40% of customers having a demand for scooters, about a year later, Yamaha officially launched the scooter targeting the mid-range market segment.
Despite the disadvantage of being a latecomer, the Yamaha Acruzo Deluxe was predicted to face many challenges competing with contemporary rivals, especially the 'big sister' Honda Lead, as they share many similarities in specifications, design, and target customers. However, to this day, the Yamaha Acruzo Deluxe, with its strengths, has been able to secure a certain place in the hearts of Vietnamese users.
Regarding the design overview, the Yamaha Acruzo 2018 scooter comes in 9 neutral colors, basic but still very modern and trendy, such as matte black, urban blue, and premium white. Being a scooter targeting young, modern female customers, the design of the Yamaha Acruzo Deluxe still pays great attention to various conveniences.
