3. United States Naval Academy
The United States Naval Academy (USNA) is located in the city of Annapolis, Maryland, near Washington D.C. It is an academy that trains officers for the United States Navy and the Marine Corps of the United States. The selection and training process for cadets in the academy are similar to the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Military Academy at West Point. The United States Naval Academy was established on October 10, 1845, in Washington DC. It is an academy that trains officers for the United States Navy and the Marine Corps of the United States. This can be considered as the premier university-level college of the naval service in the United States. The Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers with competence, character, and hidden strength in the United States Navy and the Marine Corps. Students of the Naval Academy are midshipmen actively serving in the United States Navy.
Graduates of the academy are commissioned as Ensigns in the United States Navy or Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps of the United States after graduation and are required to serve in the military for at least 5 years post-graduation. International students trained at the academy will be commissioned according to their country. Since 1959, after graduation, they may be required to serve in a different branch such as the Army, Air Force, or Border Patrol to enhance their adaptability to different missions. Each year, a small number of graduates may have to serve in a different branch, typically following the principle of a 'one-for-one' exchange among the branches.

The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), abbreviated as USMMA, was established in 1943 in Kings Point, New York. Renowned for its rigorous academic program, USMMA requires more credit hours for a bachelor's degree than any other federal service academy. Graduates of the Academy follow the motto 'Acta Non Verba' - actions, not words, and serve as exemplars of the concept of service above self.
The Academy is a specialized branch of the California State University, offering undergraduate courses in international business and logistics, engineering, global studies, maritime issues, maritime technology, maritime transportation, and mechanical engineering. It is the only maritime academy on the West Coast and is one of the seven maritime academies in the United States accredited. Established in 1929, the student population of the academy was 779 in 2009.

7. Virginia Military Institute
Virginia Military Institute (VMI), established in 1839, is a member of the Commonwealth of Virginia higher education system. VMI enrolls approximately 1,717 men and women annually. About 60% of cadets are from Virginia, while the remainder represents most states and several countries. VMI is a historic public military college situated on 200 acres in the Shenandoah Valley within the city limits of Lexington, Virginia.
Virginia Military Institute is the oldest public military college in the United States and one of six Senior Military Colleges in the country (along with The Citadel, NGCSU, Norwich University, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech). VMI is not for everyone, and students should be prepared for a disciplined and rigorous college environment (new cadets are called 'Rats'). Unlike students at U.S. service academies, VMI cadets are not obligated to serve in the armed forces upon graduation.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States is an agency responsible for advising the U.S. civilian government on military matters and leading the United States Armed Forces. This agency consists of a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a Vice Chairman, together with the chiefs of staff of the five armed services and the National Guard Bureau. All are senior military officers, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
Today, the primary responsibility of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is to ensure that the military is always ready for combat, ensuring that their policies, plans, and training of their branches are well-suited for their operational commands. The Command and General Staff College, abbreviated as CGSC, was established in 1881. 10. United States Marine Corps University
United States Marine Corps University, abbreviated as MCU, was established on August 1, 1989, to develop, provide, and evaluate professional military education and training through resident and distance education programs to prepare leaders to meet the challenges of the national security environment. The U.S. Marine Corps has approximately 203,000 personnel, making it the smallest branch of the U.S. Armed Forces under the Department of Defense.

It is one of the 8 uniformed services of the United States. According to the civilian leadership structure in the U.S. Military, the Marine Corps is part of the Department of the Navy, often working alongside Navy forces for training, transportation, and logistics purposes. However, according to the military command structure, the U.S. Marine Corps is a separate branch.
