1. Mazda MX-5 Miata - $27,300
The most budget-friendly convertible on the market today is the Mazda MX-5 Miata manufactured in 2022. Since its introduction in 1989, the MX-5 Miata has become one of the world's most popular sports cars. This compact two-seater convertible focuses on pure driving dynamics, sacrificing practicality and features for the pure enjoyment of the driver. The MX-5 Miata is a perfect example of a retro-looking sports car, but its modest power and lightweight design set it apart from the rest.
Miata is available in either a hardtop or soft-top, making it easy for you to find a convertible model. This Mazda is also one of the few convertibles available standard with a manual transmission (automatic is also available). Thanks to its customizable size and perfectly tuned suspension, the Miata accelerates rapidly and boasts some of the sharpest handling you can get in a convertible. As a bonus, it returns excellent fuel efficiency, especially when compared to other sports cars. While the Miata looks and feels sophisticated both outside and inside, it offers very little seating space and trunk room.

2. Chevrolet Camaro - $31,500
Chevy Camaro 2022 boasts stunning exterior colors, such as vibrant red and gleaming orange. The ZL1 variant of the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro generates massive power with its 650 horsepower. However, that's just one of the four engines available for the Camaro. From the base engine upward, every powertrain system produces ample muscle. Camaro is one of the few convertibles you can buy with a manual transmission. It comes standard, with an automatic available. The Camaro gives a nimble feel for its size, with robust braking and a sophisticated suspension system.
Starting with the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro lineup, the 1LS features a Drive Mode Selector with four distinct settings. A limited-slip differential optimizes the performance of the standard rear-wheel-drive on this base model. It comes with a design of 5-spoke, 18.0-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels on this imported model. Camaro comes standard with a range of features. The user-friendly infotainment system, though some rivals have larger touchscreens, is designed with a sharper, more angular display. The interior quality falls behind competitors and is challenging to recognize this Chevy. Like many convertible models, the Camaro has a small rear seat.
3. Mini Cooper 2022 - $27,900
This petite Mini Cooper is a joy to drive, offering excellent cornering, strong braking, and an engaging driving feel. The convertible Cooper accelerates swiftly, regardless of the engine you choose. Mini always stands out for its aesthetics. From the earliest Minis to the modern lineup, Mini prioritizes style for their cars. They may be too cute and vibrant for some, but they are special and unique vehicles. Mini has removed the fog lights on the grille, replacing the old front and rear bumper with a new design. The fog lights are now integrated into the headlight housing.
The Cooper is available with a manual transmission. The Cooper convertible's cabin is well-appointed, but there are some aspects that make it challenging. Mini has also changed the design and color of the mud flaps. The most significant change is the new color for the hardtop models. The convertible roof blends Soul Blue, Pearly Aqua, and Jet Black in an artistic way, adding some elegance to an already stylish small car. Compared to other convertibles on the market, the starting price of this Mini convertible is not too bad. Among other subcompact cars, the Cooper is one of the pricier options.

4. BMW Z4 - $49,900
This two-seater convertible welcomes you to a premium cabin with quality materials, stylish design, and advanced technology. The 2022 BMW Z4's standard features include an easy-to-use infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Some safety features are also equipped as standard, such as automatic emergency braking. However, with only two seats and a cargo space of 9.9 cubic feet, the Z4 is not the most practical choice among luxury convertibles.
The base engine provides ample power for most driving needs and gives the 2022 BMW Z4 some of the best fuel efficiency numbers in the luxury sports car segment. If you want something with a faster acceleration, the optional engine surely delivers. That said, you may not often hear this about a BMW, but the Z4 has been surpassed by its competitors when it comes to handling and overall driver engagement.

5. Ford Mustang 2022 - $32,970
As one of the world's most beloved sports cars, the Ford Mustang has been in production since 1964 and has sold millions of units. The current sixth-generation S550 Mustang, introduced in 2015, features an entirely independent suspension system unlike the solid rear axles of its predecessor. The Mustang is all about delivering the thrill of horsepower at an accessible price point. The 2022 Ford Mustang excels as both a sports car and a convertible. There are two engines to choose from, and both help the Mustang accelerate swiftly. If you're looking for drag-strip performance, you'll want the 480-horsepower Mustang GT convertible.
Similar to the Miata and Camaro, the Mustang comes standard with a manual shifter but can be optioned for an automatic transmission. As we go higher in price, the manual transmission becomes more elusive. All Mustangs handle corners deftly and provide a smoother ride than many competitors. The Mustang's cabin looks and feels upscale for its price. The front seats offer support and ample space, but the rear seats are a bit tight. For a convertible sports car, the Mustang has a reasonably sized trunk.

6. BMW Series 4 - $53,300
The BMW Series 4 is an all-new model for 2021. It's available as a coupe or convertible in two versions: the 430i and M440i with or without xDrive all-wheel drive. The 2022 BMW 4 Series delivers performance. From the robust engine lineup and sharp handling to the strong braking system and sophisticated suspension, it's an engaging convertible to drive. There are four engines to choose from, and all are highly impressive. The M4 convertible joins the 4 Series lineup in 2022, so now you can get a 4 Series convertible with a whopping 503 horsepower.
In 2022, BMW has added styling updates for the M4 convertible and Gran Coupe, as well as performance-tuned variants in the M4 coupe and M4 Competition for the convertible and coupe models. For a small luxury car, the Series 4 comes with a high base price and it's not the most affordable luxury convertible. It has a small rear seat and a small trunk. However, there are plenty of upscale features. For 2022, the 4 Series comes standard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

7. Audi A5 - $50,700
Audi doesn't disappoint with the 2022 A5 convertible. This German sun-soaker offers a range of powerful engines and delivers a smooth ride without sacrificing the ability to tackle winding roads. Like many other Audis, the A5 boasts a premium cabin with high-quality materials. Advanced tech features are also on display, notably the 10.1-inch touchscreen and automatic emergency braking, both standard. For 2022, the A5 adds wireless Android Auto, complementing the already standard wireless Apple CarPlay from the previous model year.
The A5 Sportback has some updates for 2022, with the newly available 19-inch wheel design and 40 exterior colors that can be ordered with the Black Optic package, removing much of the exterior trim. The S-line trim option adds a sport suspension and leather/faux suede seats. The price of the Audi A5 is considerably higher than many other luxury compact models, even more so for the convertible style. Also keeping the A5 convertible back is its small trunk, measuring only 9.3 cubic feet. The front seats are very comfortable, but the rear seats are snug in typical convertible fashion.

8. Mercedes-Benz C-Class - $55,400
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is completely redesigned, making its already competitive convertible version much better. For 2022, the C-Class boasts a fresh exterior look, new engines, and a brighter interior with more legroom for the rear seats and all the new and user-friendly tech features. That being said, the infotainment system has a bit of a learning curve. Notable standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, fingerprint memory settings, and an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display.
The luxury model from Mercedes-Benz has been completely redesigned for the 2022 production model year, yet the C-Class still maintains the design of luxury and prestige at an affordable price. The C-Class Cabriolet strikes an even balance between car quality and nimble handling. It's only available with a four-cylinder turbocharged engine. With it, the C-Class accelerates quickly from a standstill and on the highway, although the transmission can be a bit indecisive about which gear it should be in at times.

9. Audi TT - $54,600
The 2022 Audi TT is an enticing choice for luxury convertible shoppers. It stands out as one of the most visually appealing hardtop convertibles on the road, with sporty handling, standard all-wheel drive, and plenty of power with three engine options. The world-class two-seater cabin won't disappoint. It's available in coupe and convertible body styles, offering the TT engine with 228 horsepower or the more potent TTS with 288 horsepower. Standard features include Audi's advanced virtual cockpit, utilizing a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster to display entertainment information in cockpit-style.
Audi TT has asserted itself as a style icon with its memorable first-generation design, and the current third-generation TT still exudes style to this day. The Audi TT comes at a premium price, standing out among the other more budget-friendly options in this lineup. The TT is not as practical as its counterparts, evident when you look at its small trunk, with a capacity of 7.5 cubic feet, and the absence of rear seats.

10. Chevrolet Corvette - $68,400
This two-seater captures every gaze with its striking exterior, lightning-fast acceleration, and razor-sharp handling. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. Step inside, and you'll be equally impressed. Despite having only two seats and a daunting rearview, the Chevrolet Corvette's cabin is incredibly comfortable and sophisticated. The Corvette boasts an impressive cargo space divided between front and rear trunks.
2022 Chevrolet Corvette excels in safety features. The car also features new aerodynamics, enhancing high-speed handling and stability. It packs a 460-horsepower punch and comes with an eight-speed transmission. Accelerating from 0 to 60 in just three seconds makes it one of the fastest cars on the market. It also has a top speed of 205 mph. The chassis has been redesigned to handle better and accommodate the more powerful new engine. This V8-powered convertible is priced at nearly $70,000.
