1. Hon Vo - Hon Chong
This attraction is located approximately 3km northeast of Nha Trang city center. Hon Chong is a fascinating cluster of large rocks in various shapes, stacked one upon another, extending from the high shore down to the sea. A smaller group of rocks, located at the foot of the eastern hill, is known as Hon Vo. Hon Vo - Hon Chong consists of two major islands situated along the shoreline beneath Lasan Hill. The larger rock formation offshore is called Hon Chong, featuring a massive rectangular rock resting on a flat, broad stone, with a large hand-shaped indentation on the side facing the ocean. The second formation, resembling a woman sitting and gazing towards the sea, is Hon Vo.
Almost entirely detached from the hustle and bustle of city life, this Nha Trang tourist site is one of the best spots for a panoramic view of the coastal city. Visitors here can step out into the vast expanse of the sea, where a vast ocean and a clear blue sky create an endless horizon. 2. Monkey Island
The island is named “Monkey Island” because it is home to over 1,200 monkeys. Originally, the monkeys were bred for export to the Soviet Union (formerly) for experimental purposes. However, the project fell through, and the monkeys were kept for entertainment, performing in circus acts for tourists and eventually released to roam freely on the island. The monkeys here belong to various species, including golden monkeys, red-faced monkeys, long-tailed monkeys, stump-tailed monkeys, and lion-tailed macaques. They provide amusing and delightful moments for visitors with their intelligence, playfulness, and agility when offered food or during performances guided by trainers. The island spans 25 hectares and also boasts beautiful landscapes and exciting recreational activities you won’t want to miss when you visit.
Monkey Island - The Kingdom of Sun Wukong is located 18km north of Nha Trang, situated in the Nha Phu Bay, where the waves roll all year round. The island rises above the vast sea and sky, adding to the mystery of the area. The monkeys are charming, friendly, and love to play with one another. Visitors can also enjoy the performances of these playful little creatures. On Monkey Island, tourists can dive to explore coral reefs and enjoy many other thrilling activities.

3. Van Phong Bay
Van Phong Bay is renowned for its rare, untouched beauty that few places can match. It combines three exceptional features: beauty, untouched nature, and tranquility. Often likened to a princess sleeping on the vast sea, Van Phong Bay is an enchanting, graceful destination that draws travelers from afar. This natural wonder boasts a temperate climate, pristine beaches with fine sand, majestic mountains, untouched tropical forests, vibrant coral reefs, and a rich variety of wildlife and marine life, including thousands of valuable species of fish and shellfish.
Located in the middle of the expansive ocean, Van Phong Bay is about 80km from Nha Trang city center and can be reached by either road or sea. For those who are not bothered by the motion of the waves, traveling by boat is a fantastic way to experience the bay. On the sea journey, you will cover approximately 30km and pass through Nha Phu Bay. Along the way, you’ll enjoy the vast ocean views, the boundless sky, fresh sea air, and the gentle sea breeze caressing your hair.

4. Oceanographic Institute
The Nha Trang Oceanographic Institute is often described as a miniature ocean. It is one of the earliest museums in Vietnam and holds the distinction of being the largest marine research and specimen collection facility in Southeast Asia. Established in 1923, the Institute is divided into several sections, allowing visitors to easily explore and learn about marine life.
The Marine Biology Museum and Oceanography Museum are two areas that will surprise and delight you. The Marine Biology Museum displays over 20,000 specimens from 4,000 different marine species. Additionally, it houses freshwater species collected from the Gulf of Thailand, the East Sea, and Cambodia.
The Oceanography Museum is famous for its massive specimens. If you’ve only seen images of giant whales or fossilized bones on TV or the internet, here you can view a 26-meter-long, 3-meter-tall skeleton of a giant whale up close, along with many other large specimens.

5. Long Son Pagoda

In front of the main hall are altars dedicated to Buddha Shakyamuni, Maitreya Bodhisattva, and Avalokitesvara with a thousand hands and eyes. A remarkable feature of The White Buddha Pagoda is its pair of giant candles, a Vietnamese record, weighing 900 kg and standing 3.4 meters tall, gifted by layman Pham Nhat Vu. To the right of the pagoda is a pathway leading up to the hilltop with 193 stone steps, symbolizing devotion and faith in the Dharma. At the 44th step, you will find a statue of Buddha entering Nirvana, 7 meters long and 5 meters high, with a peaceful and serene face. Behind the statue is a bas-relief depicting thousands of monks and nuns in meditation.

6. Hon Mun Island
Hon Mun Island is considered one of the most picturesque islands in Nha Trang. It captivates every traveler with its endless stretches of white sandy beaches and the lush blue waters dotted with wild bird nests clinging to the cliffs.

7. Nha Trang Stone Church
Nha Trang Stone Church is one of the city's most iconic landmarks, carrying deep historical and cultural significance beyond just being a place of worship. True to its name, Nha Trang Stone Church is constructed entirely from geometric stone blocks, following the distinctive Western architectural style. In addition to its familiar name, it is also referred to by several other names such as 'Mountain Church' because it sits atop the Bông Mountain, or simply 'Nha Trang Cathedral' or 'Ngã Sáu Church.' However, its official name is the Cathedral of Christ the King, as it serves as the main Catholic cathedral in the region.

9. Ponagar Tower
When talking about the ancient Champa Kingdom, one cannot ignore the remarkable Ponagar Tower in Nha Trang. This unique architectural complex stands as a testament to the flourishing Hindu culture that once thrived here. Considered one of Nha Trang's most iconic landmarks, Ponagar Tower is a prime example of Cham ethnic sculpture and architecture. Situated just 2 km north of Nha Trang city center, Ponagar Tower rests atop a small hill by the serene Cai River. The hill, only 50 meters above sea level, is breezy and offers a stunning view of the tower's distinct design.
As you approach the entrance, the layout of the entire complex becomes clear. The Ponagar Temple complex is divided into three levels, each representing a tier of architectural style. The first, lower level, also called the “Lower Tier,” contains only remnants, such as pillar bases and partially covered stone steps, but it’s still accessible to visitors. After passing these ruins, you’ll reach the middle tier.
The middle tier was once a spacious structure with a roof and columns, serving as a waiting area for people to rest or prepare offerings before heading to the main sanctuary. This architectural feature is quite similar to northern pagodas in Vietnam. The uppermost tier remains more intact than the others, with two rows of towers surrounded by four brick walls. However, only two walls remain due to time and human impact. Each row of towers consists of three temples, with three in the front and three in the back.

10. Hon Tam Tourist Area
Hon Tam Island, also known as Thuy Kim Son Island, is located 7 km southeast of Nha Trang city. Hon Tam has become a prime destination for eco-tourism and relaxation, preserving its natural beauty and serene atmosphere, set amidst clear, calm waters that stretch under the sun all year round. This picturesque island is perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The waters around Hon Tam are especially calm, making it an ideal spot for pearl farming.
The name Hon Tam comes from the island's resemblance to a silkworm, which the local fishermen noticed while sailing out to catch seafood. Hon Tam Tourist Area attracts 2,000 to 3,000 visitors daily, offering a range of exciting activities like mountain climbing, forest exploration, kayaking, fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, and enjoying fresh, affordable seafood.
