The film is scheduled for a global release in May and is expected to be one of this year’s biggest action blockbusters.

It is the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After Marvel Studios confirmed plans for a sequel to *The Marvels* in July 2019, development of the project began in January 2020, with Megan McDonnell joining the team and Brie Larson returning. This highly anticipated blockbuster will feature many surprises and connections to other cinematic worlds. While directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who helped make *Captain Marvel* a success, are not returning for the sequel, they are expected to be involved in other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. Despite this, under the direction of Nia DaCosta, *Captain Marvel 2* still promises to be an exciting addition to the franchise, exploring deeper friendships between Carol Danvers and Maria Rambeau, as well as between different versions of Captain Marvel.
One significant aspect to watch is how the film addresses race, particularly under the direction of black filmmaker Nia DaCosta, which may influence the narrative and thematic exploration in *Captain Marvel 2*.

3. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is an upcoming superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics characters Scott Lang and Hope Pym. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, this film is the sequel to *Ant-Man* (2015) and *Ant-Man and the Wasp* (2018), and the 31st film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to kick off Phase 5. Directed by Peyton Reed with a script by Jeff Loveness.
The story follows Lang, van Dyne, her parents, and Lang’s daughter, who are accidentally transported into the Quantum Realm, where they encounter the mysterious conqueror, Kang. Scott Lang had previously entered the Quantum Realm during his battle with Darren Cross, shrinking endlessly until he eventually stumbled into an alternate reality. The Quantum Realm is a dimension where time and space behave differently, only accessible when one reduces their size to subatomic levels. Janet Pym, Hank’s wife, had entered the Quantum Realm in 1987 while trying to disable a Soviet missile. The Quantum Realm in *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania* is filled with energy waves and infinite reflections of those trapped inside. After escaping, Scott has no memory of his time there, but his survival gives Hank and his daughter hope that Janet will return.
The Quantum Realm, a place where entry is easy but escape is nearly impossible, will surely hold many secrets we’re eager to discover in *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania* this July.
