1. Da Nang - Lang Co
If you ever find yourself in Da Nang, don't miss out on the Da Nang - Lang Co route, covering approximately 30km of breathtaking beauty. To the south lies the Hai Van Pass, known as the 'most majestic pass', while to the north is the Phu Gia Pass. Below, Lang Co Bay boasts fine white sandy beaches, extending seamlessly into the azure waters, captivating you at first sight.
A weekend adventure will be enticing as you explore Da Nang, one of the most beautiful coastal cities. You can rent a motorbike for about 150,000 VND/day to embark on this exciting journey. The beautiful road to Lang Co is the stretch through the Hai Van Pass - one of the most perilous mountain passes in Vietnam. The steep, sheer cliffs make it quite dangerous. Therefore, when riding this route, remember to wear a helmet and protective gear. Stopping at the summit of the pass offers a magnificent natural spectacle, capturing a few photos as souvenirs before continuing to Lang Co at the end of the pass.
2. Hanoi – Lao Cai – Hoang Su Phi
This is one of the 'holy lands' for backpackers. If you come only once, you will find it hard to discover the diverse and surprising beauty, from the towering Fansipan peak, the majestic O Quy Ho pass - one of the 'four great mountain passes', to the snowy paradise of Sapa or the golden ripe rice fields in Hoang Su Phi...
Hoang Su Phi is an ideal destination for every backpacker, especially during the ripe rice season. The golden terraced fields winding their way create a breathtakingly beautiful landscape. Notable locations include Ban Luoc, Ban Phung, Thong Nguyen, Ho Thau... with a total area of nearly 765 hectares. Traveling to Hoang Su Phi, you will be amazed by the majestic yet poetic scenery here.
Starting from Hanoi, you can go through Tuyen Quang or Lao Cai to reach Hoang Su Phi, but in our opinion, choosing Lao Cai might be more reasonable. The road there is not too wide but with fewer vehicles, making it quite convenient for travel. The weather in Hoang Su Phi is quite cold, so remember to bring some warm clothes. You can also bring along some food as there are not many eateries there.
3. Hanoi - Moc Chau - Ta Xua - Bac Yen
For those who love the thrill of conquest, this route is an unmissable choice with vast flower gardens, the harmonious blend of mountains and sky... You can also explore the summit of Pha Luong - the roof of Moc Chau plateau or conquer famous passes like Kem Pass, Cun Pass, Thung Khe Pass... Our destination in this journey is Ta Xua - a highland commune bordering Tram Tau district (Yen Bai) and Bac Yen town (Son La).
From Hanoi, you take National Highway 6 to Moc Chau, which takes about 4-5 hours to reach the town. The road is quite wide with not too many passes and bends, so it is safe for you to experience your journey by motorbike. Along the way, you can stop and check in at Thung Khe Pass or visit Dai Yem Waterfall, Ang Pine Forest in Moc Chau. Take a short rest and then continue your cloud-hunting journey in Ta Xua.
4. Saigon – Da Lat
If you've ever experienced the 107 hairpin bends at Bao Loc Pass, you might want to head to the cherry blossom road, the newly discovered maple forest, or feel the gentle chill and the unique architectural areas resembling Paris in the heart of Vietnam. Da Lat – The city of thousands of flowers is currently one of the sought-after destinations for backpackers and an ideal choice for recent times. If you travel from Saigon by motorbike, it will take you about 10 hours to get here. However, you won't feel tired at all because you'll be mesmerized by the incredibly beautiful scenery along the way.
The road to Da Lat is not very wide, with few vehicles and not many bends, so it's quite safe, and a motorbike will be the best way for you to experience the beauty of this place. When you arrive in Da Lat, you must visit Langbiang, Elephant Mountain, Xuan Huong Lake... every place is beautiful, romantic, and equally majestic. The weather here is amazing, cool and fresh.
5. Yen Minh – Lung Cu – Dong Van – Meo Vac – Ha Giang – Cross Pass
You've heard of the largest buckwheat flower field in Vietnam, you yearn to conquer the flagpole at Lung Cu - the northernmost point of Vietnam, or simply admire dreamy pine hills in Yen Minh, winding through rugged roads...? Then you won't be able to resist the allure and challenges of this adventurous route.
The pioneering route of the homeland - Ha Giang will surely leave you with exciting and unforgettable experiences. From Yen Minh to Dong Van. You'll pass through a famous pass in Lung Thau commune, Lung Thau Pass, which is quite dangerous with many bends, but the scenery is absolutely magnificent.
Next on the journey of exploration in Ha Giang is Meo Vac, about 20 km from Dong Van. To reach Meo Vac, you'll experience the Happiness Road (Ma Pi Leng Pass), one of the famous winding roads. Returning to Cross Pass, with its majestic beauty and pristine bathing spots at the foot of the pass, it's an ideal stop for this journey.
6. Saigon – Pleiku
Pleiku is one of the ideal destinations in Gia Lai province with charming landscapes and honest, simple-hearted people. The best time to explore this famous place is from November to April of the following year.
Traveling from Saigon by motorbike, you'll cover a distance of 500 km, quite long but there are many ideal stopovers along the way. The route from Saigon to Pleiku has been upgraded based on the old National Highway 14, with smooth roads, moderate slopes, and many winding stretches like silk threads amidst the majestic Central Highlands. There are plenty of beautiful places to explore. The wild sunflower roads, coffee flower gardens, and golden rice fields weave together to create a beautiful picture. When in Pleiku, you definitely can't miss the famous tourist spots here such as Ham Rong Mountain, Bien Ho, Xung Khoeng Waterfall... And remember to indulge in the local specialties such as dry pho, canh la bep soup... folks.
7. Saigon – Binh Thuan – Lam Dong – Dong Nai
A route for you to experience from the mountain hills at Gia Bac Pass to Di Linh, immerse yourself in the sea at Phan Thiet, admire the beautiful scenery of Da Lat, conquer the winding roads of Bao Loc Pass, and breeze through Nam Cat Tien forest. Dubbed one of the most beautiful travel routes in Vietnam, this will surely be the ideal destination for backpackers this summer. Following National Highway 1A, you will enjoy many beautiful landscapes here, especially when passing by the coastal city of Binh Thuan.
This place is famous for its clean, beautiful beaches, clear water, and nothing beats sitting and watching the sunrise on the beach. Crossing National Highway 1, following National Highway 27B, then National Highway 27, and to get to Da Lat (Lam Dong) is National Highway 20. You will pass through D'ran Pass, a bit smaller but just straight ahead and you're there. Crossing the pass, you'll encounter the Dalat weather, cool, refreshing, and extremely attractive. The roads connecting the sea and the mountains will surely leave you with many memorable experiences.
8. Ta Nang – Phan Dung
Ta Nang - Phan Dung Route connects three provinces: Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan, with a total length of approximately 60 km. The route starts from Ta Nang commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, passes through vast pine forests and lush green meadows, and ends in Phan Duong district, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.
Dubbed as the most stunning trekking route in Vietnam with a length of over 50 km, Ta Nang - Phan Dung is undoubtedly the best choice we want to introduce to you. This is a forest route traversing 3 provinces of Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan, quite dangerous especially during the rainy season. Therefore, when exploring this route, you should go in groups and preferably have a guide.
However, the beauty here still attracts many young people to experience. No vehicles, no smoke, no environmental pollution, everything is pristine, surrounded by trees and peaceful flowers and leaves. Ta Nang will be an interesting meeting point and one of the best places to watch sunsets and sunrises in Vietnam.
9. Saigon – Nha Trang
Let's leave the city for a few days and embark on a journey to the beautiful coastal city of Nha Trang. This route is simply amazing for those who have the intention to go on a trip. You can choose to travel through the mountains or along the coastline to reach Nha Trang.
If you take the mountain route, you'll have to cover 436 km, which is quite long, but its beauty is irresistible. Along this route, you'll visit the largest man-made lake in Vietnam – Trị An Lake, pass through Cat Tien National Park with its stunning forests, where you can stop and camp overnight. It will be quite an exciting experience.
With a length of 424 km, the coastal route is also a fantastic option for the journey to Nha Trang. Follow National Highway 1A, remember to turn right at Vo Nguyen Giap Street, then keep going straight at the intersection of Long Khanh town to reach Phan Thiet. Stopping here is ideal, with beautiful scenery, fresh air, and picturesque landscapes. Rest for a night and continue the next day to the coastal bays of Phan Rang and Phan Ri, then to Cam Ranh. From here, it's only 60 km to Nha Trang, so take your time and enjoy the journey.
10. Sa Khao – Muong Lat Route
Following the footsteps of the Western Invasion, the Sa Khao – Muong Lat Route is also one of the most beautiful routes in Vietnam. However, it is also quite dangerous, testing the resilience of adventurers. This journey is quite long, so remember to prepare some clothes, food, and it's best to bring along some tools for fixing your vehicle.
Overcoming about 160 km from Hanoi, our ideal first stop will be Ban Lac (Mai Chau). Here you can visit the Mai Chau flagpole and take some photos, rest, and the next day continue the journey to Sa Khao and Muong Lat. The road will be steep, and if it rains, it will be difficult to travel because it's mostly dirt road. But when you arrive, all the hardships will be worth it, with majestic and stunning scenery. This is definitely one of the most beautiful routes in Vietnam that you should experience.
