1. Rolls-Royce Boat Tail - $28 million
Enthusiasts of luxury cars are seeking more exclusive options than the popular Rolls-Royce Wraith, Cullinans, and Phantoms. In this era where these models have become too common, those with hundreds of millions are now looking for more exclusive vehicles. One of those cars is the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, with an exterior inspired by classic Rolls-Royces and J-Class yachts. It is a bespoke luxury car, customized to fit the preferences and personality of each customer.
Rolls-Royce Boat Tail might even be convertible into a fully electric Rolls-Royce in the future. Priced at a reported $28 million, the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail has become the world's most expensive new car, surpassing the nearly $13 million Rolls-Royce Sweptail from 2017. The previously world's most expensive car, Bugatti La Voiture Noire, priced at over $18 million, cannot match the Boat Tail. Only three Rolls-Royce Boat Tails will be made for three different customers. To date, only one Boat Tail has been unveiled to the media. Three undisclosed customers approached the company directly after seeing the results of the Sweptail project in 2017.
Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is built on the same luxurious architecture as the Rolls-Royce Phantom, fine-tuned over 8 months to fit its dimensions. The car even underwent weather and high-speed dynamic testing similar to other Rolls-Royce models. Under the hood, the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail features a twin-turbocharged V12 engine with a displacement of 6.75 liters, producing 563 horsepower. Inside the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail exudes luxury and grandeur. The color coordination complements the two-tone exterior with details finished in wood and metal.

2. Rolls-Royce Sweptail - $12.8 million
Debuting at the 2017 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, the Rolls-Royce Sweptail is a one-off masterpiece created for a customer with a very specific taste and deep pockets. The customer approached Rolls in 2013 about crafting a unique, unparalleled car, and the design team took several years to turn this idea into reality. The name and design 'Sweptail' alludes to the swept-tail Rolls-Royce designs of the 1920s. The car is believed to be developed based on the now-extinct Phantom Coupe, featuring a fastback-style roof ending in a sharp, rarely seen design today.
Rolls-Royce Sweptail has a glass-covered roof that creates a beautiful view. At the front, Sweptail boasts a large grille, considered the largest on any modern Rolls. It is cut from a solid block of aluminum and hand-polished to a mirror-like finish. The rest of the front face is framed in a ring of aluminum, further emphasizing its considerable width. Despite being a very large car, the Sweptail has only two seats. The space behind the rear seats is occupied by a wood-trimmed luggage shelf.
As with all other Rolls-Royce cars, the interior of Rolls-Royce Sweptail is adorned with premium wood and leather. Designers also aimed to eliminate as many visible switches from the dashboard as possible to create a cleaner look and found space on the door sill for accessory cases, each designed to hold a laptop. The finishing touch is the built-in chilled champagne cooler on the center console.

3. Bugatti La Voiture Noire - $18.68 million
If there's an automaker you can always trust to create a world-class hypercar, it's Bugatti. Since its founding over a century ago, Bugatti has been renowned for crafting stunning hypercars with immense power and exceptional driving dynamics. Bugatti has brought us icons like the Veyron, Type 13, and EB110 SS, among many others. No stranger to creating expensive hypercars, Bugatti's La Voiture Noire is in a league of its own. Priced at $18.68 million, it stands as the most expensive Bugatti to date.
La Voiture Noire pays homage to the 1930s Type 57SC Atlantic that Bugatti once crafted. Specifically built to honor the second of four Type 57SC Atlantics - owned by Jean Bugatti himself. The car is a unique masterpiece representing everything the brand loves such as elegant design, premium interior, a powerful engine, and some of the most advanced technology. La Voiture Noire is the product of a process that began over a decade ago.
La Voiture Noire has some aesthetic and driving feel differences compared to the Chiron. For instance, La Voiture Noire is longer than the Chiron and carries more of a grand tourer feel. It's undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sports cars of the decade. While the design is based on the Chiron model, La Voiture Noire lacks the large, ungainly C-shape on the side, making it look more appealing. It also features a sharper front end with numerous small air vents and on the top of the hood for a more aggressive appearance.

4. Bugatti Centodieci - $9 million
Bugatti unveiled the Centodieci at the 2022 Pebble Beach Car Week, a super rare and expensive masterpiece. Limited to just 10 units, this car is a modern homage to the Bugatti EB110, marking Bugatti's return to its roots. Simultaneously, it commemorates Bugatti's monumental 110th anniversary. Its distinctive styling may not appeal to everyone, but at least you won't have to worry about seeing another one on the road. Priced at approximately $9 million, the Centodieci stands as one of the most uniquely produced cars.
The special edition Bugatti Centodieci draws inspiration from '90s-era hypercars. The flat radiator grille, horsehoe-shaped front end, seen in profile, with deeply set front air intakes, newly developed and intricately designed, and the three-part air intakes make for a perfect combination. The front face of the Bugatti Centodieci drops down very low. The iconic Bugatti horseshoe has been scaled down for a more fitting look. The new headlight system, complex and narrow, with integrated LED daytime running lights, brings a perfect blend.
Instead of a V12, the Bugatti Centodieci is equipped with a W16 8.0-liter iconic powerplant producing 1,176 kW/1,600 horsepower at 7,000 rpm. An additional air intake in the oil cooler area helps regulate the engine temperature, contributing to reliable performance. The Bugatti Centodieci can accelerate rapidly from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, reaching 200 km/h in 6.1 seconds and 300 km/h in 13.1 seconds. Customers can own the special edition Bugatti Centodieci in the Bugatti color of their choice.

6. Pagani Codalunga - $7.4 million
Pagani has revealed the second version of the extremely rare 'Codalunga' Huayra, and like the first one unveiled in the summer of 2022, this one is equally spectacular. Codalunga features more traditional Pagani colors, a silver paint layer with sparkling carbon fibers, complemented by a brown interior. The supercar Codalunga is the result of collaboration between the customer and Pagani Grandi Compilazione, showcasing a unique and attractive personality.
All Pagani Codalunga cars have been auctioned with a starting price of nearly $7.4 million. 7. Mercedes-Maybach Exelero - $8 million
Mercedes-Benz is renowned for its fast and luxurious cars. Since the early years, the collaboration between Karl Benz, Wilhelm Maybach, and Gottlieb Daimler showcased a promising future. The 1928 Mercedes-Benz Nurnberg 460 was a crowd-puller. Over a century later, Mercedes still emerges with luxurious cars. The Exelero is one of the most stunning cars produced only once, a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Maybach.
Similar to many previous models from both brands, Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero is a one-of-a-kind, extravagant creation. Commissioned by Fulda, a subsidiary of Goodyear in Germany, to test its new tire design, Exelero was officially introduced in 2004. Mercedes crafted the Exelero based on the Maybach platform and equipped it with a twin-turbo V12 engine producing 690 horsepower and 752 pound-feet of torque. With a listed top speed of 218 miles per hour (350 km/h) and adjusted for inflation, the Exelero would cost over $10 million today.
The unique design and remarkable performance of this car quickly captured the attention of car enthusiasts worldwide. This unparalleled supercar is a spectacular blend of technical prowess, luxury, and engine power. Its sleek lines, muscular posture, and outstanding performance leave you breathless. The exclusive Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero supercar is so private that all sales information is kept confidential. Based on the Maybach 57S limousine, the cabin has been pushed rearward to achieve the artistic proportion of a high-speed car, while the hood covers a unique Maybach V12.

8. Bugatti Divo - $5.8 million
One of the most beautiful and expensive supercars is the Bugatti Divo, unveiled by Bugatti in Monterey, California, in 2018. This specially crafted car stands out with distinctive features and a unique driving experience compared to its predecessor, the Chiron. Ordinary people will seldom see this car near you; only a handful are manufactured for the brand's most loyal customers. Divo is named after Albert Divo, an air force pilot and mechanic who became a racing legend after entering the sport in 1919.
Bugatti Divo is Bugatti's first coach-built hyper sports car in the 21st century and represents a modern interpretation by a long-standing company. Divo draws design and performance inspiration from the iconic Bugatti Type 57SC, considered the first hypercar. Both cars share similarities in design, although not overly obvious, as they are crafted from passenger cars. Bugatti modified its old designs when shaping the Divo, and the characteristics of the Type 57SC Atlantic are clearly evident in its low stance, wide hips, teardrop body, and lightweight construction.
Another major source of inspiration for Bugatti Divo is the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo 2015 concept car. Its NACA ducts have found their way to the rear end of the Divo's roof. They direct essential cooling air into the engine compartment. The Divo is not only lighter but also more aerodynamic and handles better than the Chiron. It generates more downforce than the Chiron, over 198 pounds, aided by a 6-foot-wide hydraulic wing, 25% wider than the wing on the Chiron. The wing acts as an air brake and adjusts to suit changing conditions.

9. SP Automotive Chaos - $6.4 million
Greek car manufacturer SP Automotive intended to debut the 'hypercar' at the Geneva Motor Show in 2022 but pushed it back to 2023, so the company decided to unveil it online on November 1, 2021. Named Chaos, the car has a starting price of $6.4 million. It is one of the most beautiful and expensive hypercars in the world today. According to the plan, a total of 100 Chaos hypercars will be produced, with prices ranging from $6.4 million to $14.4 million, depending on the style and options. SP Automotive plans to sell 20 cars on each continent, with Sotheby's serving as the exclusive agent.
According to the designer, Chaos achieves the figure of 3,000 horsepower, and its 12,000 rpm is from its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V10 engine with an undisclosed form of hybrid assistance. Faster by seconds than the 8.58 seconds set by the Nevera hypercar. SP Automotive claims it will accelerate to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 499 km/h. This is the most powerful version of Chaos and is priced at $14.4 million. The less powerful version uses a similar V10 engine, without hybrid assistance, and is reasonably priced at $6.4 million in comparison.
Both engines pair with the same dual-clutch transmission, while the all-wheel-drive is also standard. SP Automotive equips the SP Automotive Chaos with two 428mm discs at the front and 416mm discs hidden behind the 22-inch wide 3D rims. With all the existing power, SP Automotive says it will attempt to break nearly every speed record in the world's fastest supercar books. The company will handcraft each Chaos and provide customers with various features for their cars.

10. Pagani Huayra Imola - $5.4 million
Renowned Italian car manufacturer Pagani unveiled a new hypercar on February 14, 2022. Only 5 models of the Pagani Huayra Imola were crafted, attesting to the unique precision and in-depth research in the making of this car. It is also one of the most beautiful and expensive hypercars in the world today. This variant on the Huayra platform is designed to deliver efficient performance, featuring a twin-turbocharged 6.0L V12 engine producing 827 horsepower. Another focal point in the Imola's construction is aerodynamics, with the company deploying active aerodynamic systems to analyze and react quickly to different conditions.
The Pagani Huayra Imola is equipped with a 5980cc twin-turbocharged V12 engine produced by Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes ensures one of the best V12 engines on the market, and Pagani also equips its renowned Huayra with the company's V12 engine. The engine pairs with a 7-speed Xtrac gearbox and a triple-disc clutch. The hypercar also has an electro-mechanical differential controlled by the 'Central Unit,' which also manages the engine and aerodynamics. The independent double-wishbone suspension system has been redesigned to increase feedback responsiveness. According to the company, this improved system helps minimize wheel slip and pitch during braking.
Several systems on the Pagani Huayra Imola are electronically controlled, including small wings, suspension, and the differential. Pagani equips the car for track-worthy performance with components from Brembo and Pirelli to enhance traction and stopping power. The fortunate few customers who received the limited edition Imola had to pay $5.4 million. Released on Valentine's Day 2020, all 5 produced models were quickly sold out. Imola's power, agility, and speed easily combine to make it a “road-legal hypercar with racing DNA, showcasing the maximum expression of Pagani Automobili's racing technology.”
