Nguyễn Thùy Chi, born on June 14, 1993, in Hanoi, widely known by her stage name Chi Pu, is a Vietnamese singer, actress, MC, model, and producer. She first gained attention by reaching the Top 20 in the Miss Teen Vietnam 2009 competition. In 2015, she was recognized as the most followed and talked-about Vietnamese celebrity on social media. After succeeding as a model and actress, Chi Pu ventured into music in 2017 but faced backlash for her weak vocal performance, with many criticizing her for struggling with high notes. Live performances were often labeled as 'failures,' and her singing was described as 'off-key' and 'strained.' Initially famous for her participation in Miss Teen, Chi Pu soon became a household name among Vietnamese youth through her 'hotgirl' persona.
Chi Pu attended Le Quy Don High School in Hanoi before enrolling in RMIT University, where she completed an English preparatory course. However, she later paused her studies to pursue a career in the arts. In late 2020, Chi Pu was ranked among the Top 100 Digital Stars in the Asia-Pacific region by Forbes, recognizing her significant influence online. With over 19 million followers on social media, she became one of the most famous stars in Vietnam. From modeling to acting and singing, Chi Pu's music video 'Anh ơi ở lại' has garnered over 92 million views on YouTube. Additionally, she donated $50,000 to local COVID-19 relief efforts. Other notable awards include 'Favorite Actress' at the Green Star Awards, 'Public Figure of The Year,' and 'Impressive Artist of the Year' at the TikTok Awards, as well as being named among Forbes Vietnam’s Top 20 Social Media Stars.


2. Midu
Đặng Thị Mỹ Dung, born on October 5, 1989, known by her stage name Midu, is a Vietnamese actress, lecturer, model, and businesswoman. She appeared in the film 'The Fate of a Hero' directed by Victor Vũ. Midu is a former student of the University of Architecture in Ho Chi Minh City and currently teaches Fashion Design at the University of Science and Technology in the same city. Born into a family of two siblings, her father worked in law enforcement, and her mother was a homemaker. Her younger brother, Đặng Trung Hiếu, was born in 1995. Midu has shared that she enjoys watching the rain and loves the color purple. Her passions lie in acting and business. She attended Lê Văn Tám Middle School and was a member of the school's literary team, competing in city-wide literature contests. She later studied at Gia Định High School, where she consistently excelled academically. In 2008, she successfully passed the entrance exam for the prestigious University of Architecture, majoring in fashion design.
Two years after winning the Miss Teen contest, at the age of 19, Midu ventured into the fashion business by opening a clothing store. Due to her business commitments, she had to take a break from her studies and requested a one-year leave after her second year. Midu began her acting career in 2009 with her first role in the film 'Angels in White' directed by Lê Hoàng. She played Ngọc, a beautiful, gentle, and intelligent girl among four female students, alongside Miu Lê, Nhã Phương, and Mai Phương. In addition to acting, she ran her fashion boutique, Midu Boutique, on Võ Văn Tần Street in District 3. In late 2017, she opened a new entertainment complex called Zone 87 on Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street with an investment of 15 billion VND. In May 2017, she accepted a teaching role at HUTECH University, guiding students in Fashion Material Processing, and later continued as a lecturer in Industrial Art at the University of Science and Technology. In mid-2019, she became an advisor on the children's version of Shark Tank Vietnam, Kiddie Shark. On November 22, 2020, Midu officially became the CEO of YU Cosmetics, a cosmetics brand she founded with an investment of 10 billion VND, a project she had nurtured for three years. The brand is located at 252 Lý Tự Trọng, Bến Thành Ward, District 1.


3. Diễm My 9X
Vũ Phạm Diễm My, born on January 27, 1990, known by her stage name Diễm My 9X, is a Vietnamese actress, model, and TV host. She began acting in 1995 at the young age of five. Diễm My participated in the Miss Vietnam World competition and starred in several successful films, including 'Làn môi trong mưa' (2001), 'Váy hồng tầng 24,' 'Mỹ nhân kế,' as well as recent films like 'Gái già lắm chiêu' (2016), 'Chạy đi rồi tính' (2017), 'Cô Ba Sài Gòn' (2017), 'Ống kính sát nhân' (2018), and 'Tình yêu và tham vọng' (2020). Born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Diễm My managed to balance her early career in the arts with impressive academic achievements. In her entrance exam to high school, she scored 58 out of 60 and was admitted to Bùi Thị Xuân High School, one of the top-ranking schools in the city at the time, with an entrance score of 54.5, just behind Nguyễn Thượng Hiền High School, which had a cut-off score of 56.
She also scored highly and was accepted into the International Economics Department at the prestigious Foreign Trade University, one of the top universities in Vietnam with the highest entrance scores nationwide. Diễm My graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2015, after taking a break from her studies to focus on the film project 'Mỹ nhân kế.' Diễm My's acting career began in the film 'Bóng đêm cuộc tình' when she was only five years old. In 2008, she participated in the 'Người đẹp hoa anh đào' contest, winning second place. In 2010, she competed in the 'Miss Vietnam World' pageant but did not make it to the Top 15. The year 2011 marked a transformation in Diễm My's fashion style, as she was praised for her unique and innovative fashion choices by designers. In July 2019, following the loss of her mother, Diễm My was invited by VFC to film 'Tình yêu và tham vọng' in the North, a project that lasted nearly a year due to the pandemic.


4. Quỳnh Kool
Quỳnh Kool, born Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh on July 26, 1995, in Nam Hưng, Tiền Hải, Thái Bình, has had a passion for acting since a young age. She pursued her dream by enrolling at the Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema. However, due to her father's unexpected bankruptcy, Quỳnh Kool had to start working as a photo model to help pay off the family's debts. Her official debut came in 2014 with the music video 'Vợ người ta' by Phan Mạnh Quỳnh. In 2015, she became a member of the comedy group Kem Xôi TV and also worked as a brand ambassador and appeared in advertisements for various companies.
Quỳnh Kool’s breakthrough role was in the 30-episode TV series 'Đi qua mùa hạ.' She later gained recognition for her portrayal of Đào in the hit series 'Quỳnh búp bê' and in the comedy series 'Mẹ ơi, bố đâu rồi?' She also starred in the play 'Quẫn' directed by People’s Artist Trần Lực. In 2020, she landed leading roles in three TV dramas: 'Đừng bắt em phải quên,' 'Nhà trọ Balanha,' and 'Hướng dương ngược nắng.' In 2021, she continued her success with a leading role in 'Hãy nói lời yêu.' That same year, she was nominated for the 'Impressive Actress' category at the Ấn tượng VTV Awards. In 2022, Quỳnh Kool played Vy in the series 'Anh có phải đàn ông không,' starring opposite Nhan Phúc Vinh.


5. Ngân Khánh
Ngân Khánh, born Lê Ngân Khánh on October 7, 1985, in Quy Nhơn, Bình Định, is a prominent actress, singer, and photo model in Vietnam. She moved to Ho Chi Minh City during her middle school years. From a young age, Ngân Khánh stood out for her beauty and natural acting talent. She began her acting career in 2005 with the role of Quỳnh Hương in the film 'Mầm sống' directed by Phan Hoàng. Her first appearance on screen was a challenging role involving a character who is unclear about her roots but only cares about securing money, an opportunity many actors dream of. Although her early films didn't garner widespread attention, they laid the foundation for her victory in the 2006 'Ngôi sao ngày mai' talent competition.
In addition to acting, Ngân Khánh found success as a singer. In early 2009, she signed with singer Thanh Thảo's entertainment company and became a contracted artist. Despite her busy filming schedule, she actively participated in major music programs alongside top Vietnamese stars. In December 2009, she released her debut album 'Chỉ yêu mình anh,' featuring 10 exclusive tracks. Ngân Khánh also worked as a photo model and was a sought-after advertising model. In July 2011, she joined the Amigo G group formed by manager Hoàng Vũ, alongside Miko Lan Trinh and Phương Trinh Jolie. However, she left the group in March 2012, and it disbanded shortly after. Ngân Khánh married Đỗ Thiếu Quân on February 9, 2015, and has since led a happy life with him. In the same year, she gained acclaim for her role as Lam in the movie 'Ma Dai,' which attracted 179,000 views and grossed 14 billion VND after just four days in theaters. After completing the film, she took a break to study film production in Singapore. In October 2018, Ngân Khánh made a surprise return to the big screen with the role of Nhung in 'Quý cô thừa kế.' She completed her studies in Singapore in 2020 and returned to Vietnam to continue her artistic career.


6. Kaity Nguyễn
Kaity Nguyễn is a Vietnamese-American actress who is currently active in Vietnam. She made her film debut in early 2018 with the leading role of Linh Đan in the film 'Em chưa 18,' directed by Charlie Nguyễn and produced by Chánh Phương Film Studio. The movie quickly became the highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time, a title it held until 'Hai Phượng' overtook it in 2019. At the 20th Vietnam Film Festival, the film won the prestigious Golden Lotus Award, and Kaity Nguyễn was named Best Actress, becoming the youngest recipient of this honor in the history of the award. 'Em chưa 18' continues to hold a spot among the top 10 highest-grossing Vietnamese films. Kaity was born on April 9, 1999, in Ho Chi Minh City but moved to the U.S. with her family when she was in fifth grade. After returning to Vietnam in eighth grade, she frequently travels between both countries due to her strong family ties in the U.S.
Kaity first gained significant attention after a 15-second lip-sync video to Hồ Ngọc Hà's song 'Destiny' went viral on social media. Her personal social media accounts saw an exponential rise in followers, and she quickly became an internet sensation. In early 2017, Kaity starred in her first major role in 'Em chưa 18.' The film became a massive success and still ranks among the top 10 highest-grossing Vietnamese films. In 2018, she played the female lead in the family comedy 'Hồn papa da con gái,' and in 2020, she appeared in the film 'Tiệc trăng máu.' Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, 'Tiệc trăng máu' broke box office records and became one of the top 3 highest-grossing Vietnamese films of all time. In 2021, Kaity took on the lead role in 'Gái Già Lắm Chiêu V.'


7. Jun Vũ
Jun Vũ, born Vũ Phương Anh on June 4, 1995, is a Vietnamese actress and model. She was born in Hanoi but moved to Thailand at the age of 15 with her family. Jun Vũ gained fame as a teenager, modeling for numerous Thai and international fashion brands. Although she studied business administration at Assumption University, she continued to pursue her passion for the arts, frequently participating in music videos for popular Thai songs such as 'Just a Friend' by Mr. Min, 'Wedding Dress' by Neung Apiwat, and 'Still Lovin' U' by Z-MYX. In 2015, Jun Vũ made a major breakthrough when she starred in the successful music video for 'Sau tất cả' by Erik, which boosted her confidence to transition into acting. She appeared in two highly regarded Vietnamese films: '12 Chòm Sao: Vẽ đường cho yêu chạy' (2015) and 'Cho em gần anh thêm chút nữa' (2016).
In 2017, Jun Vũ starred in the New Year special 'Xuân Cười: Món quà đầu năm' on HTV2. That same year, she received the 'Best Actress' award at the Ngôi Sao Xanh Awards and won 'Best Actress in a Leading Role' at the Cánh Diều Vàng Awards for her role as My in '12 Chòm Sao: Vẽ đường cho yêu chạy.' In March 2018, Jun Vũ impressed audiences with her portrayal of Tuyết Anh in the film 'Tháng năm rực rỡ,' a remake of the popular South Korean film 'Sunny.' Later that year, she played Liên in 'Người bất tử,' directed by Victor Vũ. 8. Ninh Dương Lan Ngọc
Ninh Dương Lan Ngọc, born April 4, 1990, is a Vietnamese actress renowned for her work in both film and television. She rose to fame after winning the 2015 season of 'Bước nhảy hoàn vũ' (Dancing with the Stars) and gained recognition for her role as Nương in the critically acclaimed film 'Cánh đồng bất tận.' A graduate of Nguyễn Hữu Huân High School and the University of Theater and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, Lan Ngọc's early career included appearances in commercials and music videos while she was still a student between 2008-2009. She also took on minor roles in TV dramas like 'Gia đình phép thuật.' However, it was her role as Nương in 'Cánh đồng bất tận' in 2010 that marked her acting debut and won her the prestigious Cánh Diều Vàng Award for Best Actress.

9. Phương Oanh
Đỗ Phương Oanh, born September 23, 1989, known professionally as Phương Oanh, is a Vietnamese actress. She gained fame through her roles in several popular TV dramas such as 'Lời thì thầm từ quá khứ,' 'Ngược chiều nước mắt,' 'Lặng yên dưới vực sâu,' 'Quỳnh búp bê,' 'Cô gái nhà người ta,' 'Lựa chọn số phận,' and 'Hương vị tình thân.' Phương Oanh began her career as a freelance model between 2008 and 2011, before transitioning to acting in 2012. Bảo Thanh, born Vũ Thị Phương Thanh on October 26, 1990, is a Vietnamese actress best known for her role as Minh Vân in the hit series 'Sống chung với mẹ chồng.' Her acting career began at the age of 8, when she caught the eye of director Phi Tiến Sơn while at her parents' workplace. She was invited to act in the film 'Vào Nam ra Bắc' and two years later won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 13th Vietnam Film Festival. In 2008, she enrolled at Hanoi's University of Theater and Cinema. Bảo Thanh’s breakout role came in 2013 when she portrayed cô Đũi in the series 'Trò đời,' followed by her role in the movie 'Những người viết huyền thoại.' She then moved south to act in TV dramas, with her performance in 'Người chồng điên' earning her the prestigious Cánh diều vàng award in 2014.
In 2015, Bảo Thanh won two silver medals at the National Professional Drama Arts Competition and the National Theater Festival for roles in 'Công lý không gục ngã' and 'Ai là thủ phạm.' The following year, she starred in the series 'Hợp đồng hôn nhân,' which, despite not making a major impact, was praised by the director for her standout performance.
