1. Ly Son Island – Heaven on Earth
Ly Son Island resembles a magical island hidden in the vast sea. If you have the opportunity to visit Ly Son Island, you will be able to admire the fascinating beauty of the island known as the 'paradise amidst the sea', like a natural treasure of Quang Ngai.
From Quang Ngai city, you will go to Sa Ky port to visit Ly Son Island. This is the only place where tourists visiting Ly Son Island can catch a boat to the island. The road here will bring you a strange sense of peace. On both sides of the road are golden ripe rice fields, the rice swaying with the breeze, floating gently, and soothingly. Near the sea, the scent of rice mingles with the salty taste blown by the sea breeze. You will feel the sea is very close, the smell of the sea makes everyone excited. The beauty of the peaceful countryside scenery makes the road about 20km to the port very close to tourists.
Paradise amidst the sea. Nowadays, besides the slow boat trip taking nearly 2 hours to the island, tourists can take a high-speed boat taking less than 1 hour. If you want to admire the scenery and sway on the sea, you can choose the slow boat. Because this boat is mainly for islanders to travel to the mainland for shopping, trading, and doing business. There are quite a few goods loaded onto the boat, all kinds from food to poultry and livestock. This place is both a fishing port and a place where almost all essential items are traded on the port.
Ly Son Island is also called Cu Lao Ré. According to the elders on the island, it is called so because in the past, there were many re trees on the island. Re tree bark is used to tie things very durable. The island was exploited in the reign of King Le Kinh Tong (1604). Currently, on the island, there are still eight ancestors who once opened up land on this land and are revered by fishermen as 'Eight ancestors.' Ly Son district has only 10 km2 with a population of about 20,000 people, divided into two communes An Vinh and An Hai. People living on the island mainly engage in farming and fishing. The main agricultural product here is garlic. Although the area is quite small, there are nearly 100 relics with a complex of temples, pagodas, shrines, and wind tombs of the Hoang Sa warriors who once set sail to safeguard the sovereignty of the sea and islands for the country. Through many changes in history, but perhaps due to its distance from the mainland, less affected by war as well as the renovation and restoration of relics in the style of 'refurbishment,' most of the relics of Ly Son are still intact, less disturbed. The most worth visiting are Hang Pagoda, Duc Pagoda, Ly Hai village communal house, Am Linh Tu relic complex, and Hoang Sa soldiers' cemetery...
Ly Son tourism will enchant you with the blue sea, golden sunlight flowing over each tree, grass tip transparent as glass, the sky clear and beautiful to the point of astonishment. And the wind seems to fly from all directions, rushing to fill the souls of tourists.

2. Thac Trang - The fairy's hair waterfall cascading over the rocky cliffs
If you want to choose an exciting destination to explore and experience, don't miss the White Waterfall. The White Waterfall eco-tourism area is now well-known to many people across the country. The white waterfall cascades down from a height of over 40 meters like the gentle hair of a fairy released naturally. Particularly, the surrounding scenery of the White Waterfall is all rugged hills, where you will be immersed in the green color of leaves, flowers, of the quiet, pure, and extremely majestic mountainous forests and the White Waterfall, which is considered the symbol of Minh Long district. So, if you visit the mountainous Minh Long district, well-known for its brocade fabrics, gongs, and can wine of the Cor ethnic people, don't forget to visit the White Waterfall. It's a beautiful scenic spot that you'll regret missing out on.
If you visit the White Waterfall during holidays or festivals, you will be overwhelmed by a bustling crowd, joyous and exuberant with sightseeing, playing, and festivities. If you want to swim, you won't have a chance! So, if you want tranquility, relaxation, and to let go of worries, you should come here on normal days. The majestic, romantic White Waterfall always extends its arms to welcome you, to 'comfort' and 'shelter' you. From the center of Minh Long district, it only takes a 40-minute walk to reach this beautiful, dreamy waterfall.
Additionally, if you want to immerse yourself in this cool stream, there are clear, blue water pools located at the foot of the waterfall, which are ideal bathing spots for you. But be careful, these water pools are deep, so if you don't know how to swim, don't be reckless.

3. Sa Huỳnh – the golden sandy beach
Located in the southernmost part of Quang Ngai province, adjacent to National Highway 1A and about 60km southeast of Quang Ngai city, Sa Huynh is a famous destination in the administrative area of Pho Chau and Pho Thanh communes, Duc Pho district. Originally named Sa Hoang, meaning 'golden sandy beach,' but due to the coincidence with Lord Nguyen Hoang, the name had to be changed phonetically to Sa Huynh as it is today.
Not only known as an archaeological site of value with a series of burial mounds and many artifacts typical of an ancient culture submerged under the ground until the beginning of the 20th century, Sa Huynh is also known for its beautiful beach stretching 5 - 6km like a sickle, adorned by the Cấm mountain range, the scenic cliffs of Chau Me, and the distant Monkey, Bẹp, Dù, and Khu Ông islands, becoming an attractive destination for tourists on weekends or holidays.
Located at Km 985, Sa Huynh beach is truly ideal with its shimmering golden sand and clear blue water, where the sea floor is gently sloping and there are no underwater rocks. About a nautical mile from the shore is an underwater rocky strip and coral reefs, where various colorful fish schools gather, creating a fantastical underwater world like in fairy tales… Tourists can take a boat ride along the Cấm mountain, visit the Swallow cave, and especially the Hóc Mó cave, which becomes even more magnificent with the arrival of spring, when the golden apricot blossoms light up the sky amidst the vast sea… Visitors can also swim at the pristine Hóc Mó and Bàu Nú beaches or explore Monkey Island with its rare and precious wildlife…
Visiting Sa Huynh beach would be incomplete without enjoying the freshly caught seafood, from shrimp, squid, crabs, to Sa Huynh emperor crabs… to the popular dish of grilled fish rolled in rice paper, which is both rustic and incredibly delicious. The most famous specialty of Sa Huynh is fermented nham and Sa Huynh emperor crabs. Nham (thorny oysters) is already rare and can only be caught seasonally, so making it into fermented nham is even more precious. Sa Huynh fermented nham was once a royal delicacy during the Minh Mang reign, with the locality having to 'contribute' 12 catties to the capital every year. Unlike common crabs, Sa Huynh emperor crabs are large crabs with an entire body of reddish color, each weighing up to a kilogram; they don't require complicated processing, just boiled and dipped in salt to fully savor the rich, savory, and fragrant taste of this unique crab species.
Another seafood product from the sea is salt - Sa Huynh is famous for being a large salt field in the Central region with nearly 500ha of salt fields, producing hundreds of thousands of tons of salt annually. Sa Huynh salt has good quality and has long been trusted in the markets of the Central and Central Highlands regions.

5. Thien An Mountain – the panoramic view of the city within your reach
For those from Quang, 'Thien An Mountain' is a name that resonates deeply, evoking memories of their homeland. Alongside the Tra River, 'Thien An Mountain' has long been a symbol of Quang Ngai province. Often referred to as 'Thien An Niem Ha,' this mountain bears the name given by Nguyen Cu Trinh (1714 – 1767) when he served as the prefectural chief here, signifying the seal of heaven over the Tra River.
'Thien An Mountain' is essentially a hill with an elevation of about 100 meters above sea level, situated in the middle of the Son Tinh plain on the left bank of the Tra Khuc River, about 3.5 km north of Quang Ngai city. Viewed from the right bank of the Tra River, the mountain resembles a trapezoidal seal pressed onto the river. Its peak is a relatively wide and flat plateau. Visitors can ascend the mountain in various ways, by motorbike or car. The winding road to the mountaintop from the south, though spiraled, poses no obstacles to vehicles. Additionally, there are steps and stone-paved paths specifically for pedestrians.
The history of 'Thien An Mountain' is intertwined with the legend of a revered monk named Le Duyet, also known as Minh Hai, Phat Bao, or Phap Hoa Hoa Thuong, born in the year Giap Than (1644) belonging to the Lam Te Zen lineage. This monk ascended 'Thien An Mountain,' established a hermitage, and practiced meditation. According to legend, he subsisted only on leaves, forest roots, and water from caves. But when the cave water dried up, the Venerable Monk was determined to dig a well. With the assistance of a young monk, after three months of digging, they found no water. After meditating for seven days and nights without eating or sleeping, the Venerable Monk's heart touched Bodhisattva, who appeared and instructed him to dig in another direction, where they found water. Upon finding the water source, the young monk vanished. To express their reverence, people named this well the Buddha's well, with the legend that its water never runs dry.
From the mountaintop, visitors can gaze far and wide to behold the panoramic view of Quang Ngai, with a fresh, majestic expanse. Quang Ngai seems to shrink into the distance when standing atop 'Thien An Mountain.' To the west, visitors can see the formidable city wall of the Thach Bich range. Casting their gaze to the east, they may behold the Dai Co Luy gate, with Co Luy Co Thon and the shimmering sea under the sunlight. In contrast to the emerald green, the northward direction offers the vibrant green of lush rice fields and the imposing Long Dau mountain range. To the south lies the urban streets of Quang Ngai with the ethereal Thiên But Mountain amidst drifting clouds. And nearest of all, one cannot overlook the Trà Khúc bridge spanning the Tra River, an endless inspiration for photography and poetry. On the eastern slope of 'Thien An Mountain' lies the renowned Thien An Pagoda nestled amid lush vegetation and beneath ancient trees.

After exploring, as the sun begins to set, visitors can visit these floating eateries to enjoy dishes prepared from fresh fish and shrimp.
