After meditating for seven days and nights without eating or sleeping, the Venerable Monk's heart touched Bodhisattva, who appeared and instructed him to dig in another direction, where they found water. Upon finding the water source, the young monk vanished. To express their reverence, people named this well the Buddha's well, with the legend that its water never runs dry.

The memorial was built from the house of Mr. and Mrs. Pham Van Nga - Pham Thi Thuan, the parents of former Prime Minister Pham Van Dong. Later, this house was renovated and preserved by Mr. Pham Van Phung (the elder brother of the former Prime Minister). It was in this house that the first Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was born and spent his childhood.
