1. Ly Son Lighthouse
Ly Son Island, often called Vietnam's fairy island, is famous for its crystal-clear, three-colored beach. In addition, it is home to a well-known lighthouse on its eastern coast, named Ly Son Lighthouse, located in Ly Hai commune, Ly Son district, Quang Ngai province.
Built in 1893, the Ly Son Lighthouse was once known as Phare Polo Canton. The Ganh Den Lighthouse is located about a 15-minute walk from the famous Ganh Da Dia, in An Ninh Dong commune, Tuy An, Phu Yen. Surrounding the lighthouse are massive rocks stacked on top of each other, with the waves crashing year-round, creating a breathtaking and picturesque view.
The lighthouse stands 22 meters above sea level, with a range of 17 nautical miles. The light rotates every five seconds to guide ships sailing from afar. Its striking red and white colors make it stand out proudly on the vast rocky land. 3. Coto Lighthouse
The Coto Lighthouse is located on Van Don Island, Quang Ninh Province. Perched atop a majestic mountain, it stands about 5 kilometers from the town and is the highest point on the island. This historic lighthouse has been standing since the late 19th century.
The Coto Lighthouse is often referred to as the "eye of the night" as it guides ships navigating the waters of northeastern Vietnam. With 72 spiral steps leading to the top and its position on a high hill, it is hailed as the lighthouse offering the most stunning view in Vietnam. 4. Song Tu Tay Lighthouse
The Song Tu Tay Lighthouse is located approximately 320 nautical miles from Nha Trang, within the Spratly Islands, in the Truong Sa district of Khanh Hoa Province. Constructed in 1993, the lighthouse stands 36 meters tall with a dark grey body and a beam that can reach as far as 22 nautical miles.
This lighthouse was the first to be built in the Spratly Islands and symbolizes the strength and resilience of the Vietnamese people in safeguarding the nation's territorial waters. It plays a key role in ensuring maritime safety in the region. 5. Hon Khoai Lighthouse
The Hon Khoai Lighthouse was constructed in 1899, making it one of the oldest lighthouses in Vietnam. Located on Hon Khoai Island, about 18 km off the coast of Ca Mau, this lighthouse is classified as a Level 1 lighthouse in the national system. Its light can be seen at a range of 26.7 nautical miles at night, while its geographical visibility extends up to 41 nautical miles.
The lighthouse is a square-shaped structure, standing 15.7 meters tall with each side measuring 4 meters. Built from stone and cement, it sits atop a 284-meter-high hill on Hon Khoai Island in Ca Mau Province. The lighthouse plays a critical role in guiding ships and helping them determine their positions as they navigate the East Sea. It is part of the Cần Giờ – Côn Đảo – Hon Khoai – Phú Quốc system of lighthouses, which aids vessels traveling through these waters.


6. Cu Lao Xanh Lighthouse
The Cu Lao Xanh Lighthouse is located in Nhon Chau Commune, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province. Built in 1890, this lighthouse is a fascinating blend of Eastern and Western architectural styles. It combines the Gothic influence with traditional Eastern design, creating a unique and captivating structure.
The lighthouse is divided into four main sections, harmoniously arranged for both function and aesthetic appeal. Inside, a spiral staircase with 58 steps leads to the main level where the light is located. From the top of the lighthouse, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view. Strategically, its location offers significant military advantage. Aesthetically, those who visit Cu Lao Xanh cannot help but be enchanted by the sight of the morning mist, the golden sunrise over the sea, and the crimson sunset. On nights with a full moon, the lighthouse looks like a scene from a fairy tale.


7. Long Chau Lighthouse
The Long Chau Lighthouse is located on Long Chau Island in the Cat Hai District of Hai Phong and was built in 1894 by a French engineer. Standing at a height of 109.5 meters, the lighthouse's light reaches up to 27 nautical miles. On clear days, its beam can be seen from ships as far as 50 kilometers away.
From afar, the Long Chau Lighthouse rises proudly against the vast sky and ocean, resembling a giant pen writing on the blue canvas. Locals often call it the 'Eye of Long Chau.' For over 11 decades, this lighthouse has steadfastly stood over the East Sea, guiding countless vessels in and out of the Gulf of Tonkin, unaffected by nature’s toughest challenges.


8. Dai Lanh Lighthouse
The Dai Lanh Lighthouse, located at Mui Dien in Tuy Hoa, is known as the easternmost point of Vietnam. Built in 1890 by the French, the towering lighthouse is an iconic landmark of the Tuy Hoa coastline, with over 110 wooden steps leading to the top.
From the summit, you'll be greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of the vast natural landscape, with the emerald waters of Bai Mon and endless sandy shores stretching to the horizon, flanked by steep cliffs. Many visitors stay overnight at the border guard station to catch the first light of dawn, as the sunrise over this eastern point is simply magical, with the soft beams creating an ethereal glow.

9. Ke Ga Lighthouse
With a history spanning over 100 years, the Ke Ga Lighthouse continues to serve its sacred purpose night and day, located in Tan Thanh Commune, Ham Thuan Nam, Binh Thuan. This lighthouse, one of the many designed by the French, is built entirely of stone and features 182 metal steps leading to the top. From a distance, the shape of the lighthouse resembles the head of a rooster, standing on a peninsula jutting into the sea, which is how it got its name, Ke Ga.
At the top of the lighthouse, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Ham Thuan Nam archipelago and Ke Ga Island. The sharp silhouette of the lighthouse against the vast sky, combined with the deep blue of the ocean, the smooth white sands, and the pink granite rocks, creates a breathtaking landscape that is rare to find in Vietnam.


10. Hon Daus Lighthouse
The Hon Daus Lighthouse has stood for over 100 years, located on Hon Daus Island in the Do Son region of Hai Phong. Despite its age, the lighthouse retains a modern charm with its five-story design and 125 wooden spiral steps that lead to the top.
Through the skill and determination of its builders, the effort to climb the high steps is rewarded with the natural beauty of Hon Daus. Lush green forests, vibrant flowers, and the sight of birds soaring across the sky all create a serene atmosphere.
