7. Nguyễn Văn Khánh Phong
Nguyễn Văn Khánh Phong, born in 2002 in Ho Chi Minh City, is a talented athlete in the sport of Head Balance, a unique discipline in gymnastics. From a young age, Khánh Phong developed a keen interest and passion for this sport, which caught the attention of Coach Võ Đình Vinh during a talent scouting session at local schools in Ho Chi Minh City.
Under Coach Vinh's guidance, Khánh Phong began training professionally at the age of seven while also focusing on his education. After more than six years of intense training in Ho Chi Minh City, at just 13 years old, Khánh Phong made the bold decision to travel abroad to continue his training and prepare for major competitions. He spent four years in Hungary with Coach Vinh, where he made significant strides and achieved notable success for Vietnam in international gymnastics events.
In 2015, Khánh Phong participated in his first major competition, the eG Wuhnen Juniors Trophy in Germany. He followed this with appearances in several prestigious events such as the Seagzone Artistic Junior Championships and the National Age Group Championships.
By 2017, Khánh Phong was given the opportunity to compete at the Youth World Cup in Hungary, where he won a Gold Medal and two Silver Medals. 2018 marked a breakthrough year for him, as he competed in the Asian Junior Championships and earned a spot in the 2018 Youth Olympics in Argentina.
In 2019, Khánh Phong was selected for the Vietnamese National Gymnastics Team and trained alongside Lê Thanh Tùng, the only Vietnamese gymnast to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, under the coaching of a Korean expert. Unfortunately, Khánh Phong did not qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
With his remarkable progress and impressive achievements, Khánh Phong made it to the final of the parallel bars event at the 2022 World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan. Currently, he is preparing for the 31st SEA Games, where great expectations are placed on him.


8. Phan Thị Hà Thanh
Phan Thị Hà Thanh is regarded as one of the brightest stars in Vietnamese gymnastics in recent years. Born on October 16, 1991, in Hai Phong, she comes from a family with no sporting background. Her father worked as a meteorologist, and her mother is a doctor. Hà Thanh displayed exceptional talent in gymnastics from the age of six, when she was in first grade. She caught the attention of Coach Nguyễn Thị Thanh Thúy, who began her professional training. By the age of 11, Hà Thanh had already competed in the National Gymnastics Championship, winning two Gold Medals. This remarkable achievement opened doors for her to join the national gymnastics team, where her relentless dedication earned her well-deserved recognition. At the 2009 Asian Gymnastics Championship, Hà Thanh made history by becoming the first Vietnamese gymnast to win a Bronze Medal at an international competition.
Throughout her career, Phan Thị Hà Thanh has solidified her name in the history of Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), where she won four Gold Medals in vault and all-around events. In the following years, she reached the peak of her career, continuing her success in international competitions. At the Toyota Cup Gymnastics Championship in Japan, she scored an impressive 14.300 in the vault event, earning another Gold Medal for Vietnam. This victory earned her the title of Vietnam's Best Athlete of 2011. In 2012, she claimed several Gold Medals at the Asian and World Gymnastics Championships and secured a spot at the London Olympics. Unfortunately, her performance at the Games did not meet expectations. Four years later, Hà Thanh became the 14th athlete from Vietnam to compete at the Rio 2016 Olympics. She participated in vault and balance beam events but fell short of her goals, ending her final Olympic journey with disappointment.


9. Đỗ Thị Ngân Thương
Đỗ Thị Ngân Thương, known as the "Golden Doll" of Vietnamese sports, was born on March 10, 1989, in Hanoi. Despite growing up in a family without any sports background, her passion for sports led her to pursue a career in gymnastics. Due to her fragile health as a child, her mother took her to the Quần Ngựa Sports Center for training. This decision proved to be a turning point when a gymnastics coach discovered her talent, and she began participating in selection competitions.
At the 22nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) held in Vietnam, Đỗ Thị Ngân Thương became a national hero by winning two Gold Medals in the uneven bars, both in team and individual events. This success opened doors for her to train in China. Despite her short stature of just 1.46 meters, she continued to excel in subsequent SEA Games.
At the 23rd SEA Games, Ngân Thương won two more Gold Medals in the all-around and balance beam individual events, as well as a Silver Medal in the team competition. In the following SEA Games, she overcame various challenges to secure one Gold and one Bronze in the balance beam, alongside another Silver in the team event. These accomplishments led to her selection as Southeast Asia's representative at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Unfortunately, her Olympic journey was cut short after a doping violation, as she unknowingly ingested furosemide, a banned substance, resulting in a one-year suspension.
Returning to the 27th SEA Games, Ngân Thương proved her resilience and skill. Despite advancing in age, she continued to perform at a high level, winning two Gold Medals and one Silver for Vietnam.


10. Phạm Phước Hưng
Phạm Phước Hưng is a renowned gymnast from Vietnam, born on April 6, 1988, in Hanoi. He is considered one of the most accomplished male gymnasts in the country to date.
At the age of seven, Phạm Phước Hưng was selected to train in China after being identified during a national talent search for gymnastics. He spent over a decade honing his skills in China before returning to Vietnam to compete officially in 2002 at the National Gymnastics Championship. In his debut competition, he won his first Gold Medal in both the horizontal and parallel bars events.
Throughout his career, Phạm Phước Hưng has achieved remarkable success, amassing over 60 gold medals in gymnastics both domestically and internationally, including victories at World Championships and the SEA Games. In 2013, after participating in the World University Games in Russia, Phạm Phước Hưng faced a major health challenge with a severe case of tuberculosis. Despite the illness hindering his training and competition, he persevered through the difficulties and, after more than six months of treatment, made a triumphant return to the competition floor, qualifying for his second Olympic Games in 2016.
Phạm Phước Hưng became the first Vietnamese gymnast to secure an Olympic spot, competing at both the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics in the all-around events. In 2016, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) recognized his contributions to the sport by naming a move he invented on the still rings after him, the “Pham” move, solidifying his legacy in gymnastics.
