1. The Nghệ An Massacre
On July 2, 2015, the Nghệ An massacre shocked the nation. The victims, four in total, were discovered by father and son Vi Văn Hòa in a remote forest hut in Khe Cát Tả, Phồng Village, Tam Hợp, Tương Dương, Nghệ An. The investigation revealed the body of Lô Văn Thọ, 30, found near the hut with two knife wounds, while his mother, Viêng Thị Chương, 70, was discovered with a fatal wound to the abdomen. Additionally, Thọ’s wife, Lê Thị Yến, and their child were found dead in a nearby stream. The case remains under investigation.

2. The Bình Phước Massacre
On July 7, 2015, the peaceful village of Minh Hưng, Chơn Thành, Bình Phước, was rocked by a brutal massacre that left the community in shock. The victims, a family of six, were discovered murdered in their home, bound, gagged, and slashed across the throat. The only survivor was an 18-month-old child. The victims included Lê Văn Mỹ, 48, Nguyễn Lê Thị Ánh Ngọc, 42, Lê Thị Ánh Linh, 20, Lê Quốc Anh, 15, and two of bà Nga’s grandchildren, Dư Ngọc Tố Như, 18, and Dư Minh Vỹ, 14. The investigation led to the arrest of Nguyễn Hải Dương, 24, and Vũ Văn Tiến, 24, both sentenced to death, and Trần Đình Thoại, 28, who received a 16-year prison sentence.

3. The Nam Định Massacre
On the night of the massacre in Xóm 3, Hải Tân, Hải Hậu, Nam Định, terror gripped the local community. The killer, Mai Thị Vóc, born in 1975, attacked five members of a family with a machete. Three people, including Nguyễn Thị Ngọc, and two children, Đỗ Thành Đạt, 8, and Đỗ Công Minh, 3, were killed instantly. Two others, Nguyễn Thị Thơm and her husband Đỗ Văn Kiên, were severely injured. The crime occurred when Vóc went to Kiên's house searching for her son, Đỗ Văn Trưởng. After a brief exchange with Thơm, she violently attacked the household, killing three and wounding two before being restrained by locals and handed over to the authorities.

4. The Thái Bình Massacre
On December 23, 2012, a shocking crime occurred in Phú Khánh, Thái Bình. The neighbors noticed something amiss when they saw the house of Nguyễn Anh Toa, born in 1941, locked for over a day. Upon breaking the lock, they found Toa, his daughter Nguyễn Thị Minh Tâm, 32, and his wife Đoàn Thị Cún, 65, all brutally murdered. The suspect, Lê Thanh Đại, 33, from Hải Phòng, was arrested after the investigation revealed he had killed his girlfriend’s family during a visit on December 22. Using a wooden piece from a cabinet, he struck Tâm in the head, killing her instantly. Her mother and father were also murdered in a similar manner, with Đại strangling both victims with electrical wires before finishing the crime by killing Toa in his bed.

5. The Quảng Trị Massacre
On August 7, 2015, a brutal massacre occurred in Khối 4, Khe Sanh, Hướng Hóa, Quảng Trị, where two victims, a father and his daughter, were fatally stabbed. After more than two hours of investigation, police identified the killer as Hồ Chí Bảo, 24, from Hải Trạch, Bố Trạch, Quảng Bình. The crime unfolded when Bảo broke into the victims' house to steal valuables. When he was caught in the act, he killed both the father and daughter to escape.

6. The Yên Bái Massacre
On August 12, 2015, the village of Lâm Giang, Văn Yên, Yên Bái, became the site of a horrific massacre. Four members of the Dao ethnic group were brutally killed: Trần Văn Long, 32, his wife Phàn Thị Hoa, 20, their son Trần Văn Tuyền, 2, and Hoa's younger sister Phàn Thị Hà, 15. The investigation revealed that Đăng Văn Hùng, 26, from the same village, was the main suspect. The motive for the killings appeared to stem from a long-standing land dispute between Hùng and Long's family over the use of agricultural land.

7. The Quảng Ninh Massacre
On September 24, 2016, Vũ Thị Thanh from the Hợp Thành area in Uông Bí, Quảng Ninh, discovered the lifeless bodies of her mother, Nguyễn Thị Hát (61), her two children, Phạm Đình Hưng (9) and Phạm Thu Hà (8), along with her niece, Vũ Khánh Huyền (3), all of whom had been brutally murdered. The victims were found lying in pools of blood, with multiple stab wounds, and signs of the house being ransacked.

8. The Bắc Giang Massacre
This tragic crime took place on August 24, 2011, at the Ngọc Bích gold shop in Lục Nam, Bắc Giang. The perpetrator, Lê Văn Luyện, born in 1993, was still a minor at the time, which led to a relatively short 18-year prison sentence. The victims, the gold shop owners and their young daughter (18 months old), were found stabbed to death in a pool of blood. The couple's older daughter (8 years old) survived but suffered severe injuries, including a severed hand. Luyện's motive was revealed to be financial desperation after squandering the money he borrowed to purchase a motorbike. Five years later, the horror of this robbery and murder still haunts the local community.

9. The Tiền Giang Massacre
In the aftermath of the Bắc Giang massacre, three years later, the police in Mỹ Tho, Tiền Giang, were called to investigate a tragic incident where an entire family was murdered with a hammer on the night of July 30, 2014. The perpetrator, Huỳnh Văn Tấn, 39, from Bến Tre, brutally killed his wife, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law during a fit of rage. The motive stemmed from a heated argument when Tấn visited his wife, with whom he had been separated. In his fury, he repeatedly struck his wife, Hà, in the head, killing her instantly. He then went on to murder his sleeping mother-in-law, Trần Thị Dung, aged 73, before killing his brother-in-law, Huỳnh Văn Tài, 45, who tried to intervene. Tấn was sentenced to death for his actions.

10. The Tây Nguyên Massacre
The third massacre occurred on the night of January 20, 2015, sending shockwaves through the Tây Nguyên region. The perpetrator, Nguyễn Văn Tiến, a 23-year-old from Biển Hồ, Pleiku, left the local community in terror for a long time. The victims were Nguyễn Văn Cường, 56, and his daughter, Nguyễn Thị Thủy, 18, who were both brutally stabbed to death. Cường’s wife, Phạm Thị Mão, 53, and his 90-year-old mother-in-law, Lưu Thị Hồ, were severely injured. The crime was triggered when Tiến, caught stealing dogs by Cường, was interrogated and, in a fit of rage, decided to murder the entire family.
