1. Opening Speech for Vietnam Family Day Festival
Honorable leaders!
Esteemed guests!
Dear colleagues, Women's Union members, and cherished families!
Today, as we celebrate Vietnam Family Day, we gather to honor the important values of Vietnamese families. It is with great joy that the Women's Union of XX City organizes this Family Day event in 20xx. On behalf of the organizing committee and the Women's Union, I warmly welcome all of the city's leaders, representatives of local authorities, and families who have come to join us today. We are delighted to have you here with us, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone for your presence and support.
Honorable leaders!
Esteemed guests, and all families present!
As someone once said, “Home is where you return to, family is where you find love. To have both is true happiness.” Family is the foundation where a person’s character is shaped, the place where one experiences love and boundless compassion. On this Vietnam Family Day, we reflect on the significance of family and the importance of fostering healthy, strong family units. It was on May 4, 2001, that the Prime Minister of Vietnam declared June 28th as Vietnam Family Day, with June becoming a national action month to prevent domestic violence. This day serves as a reminder for us all to strengthen family bonds and contribute to a thriving society where every family is a safe haven and a vital building block of the community.
Today's event, with a variety of meaningful activities, is designed to celebrate the family unit while also fostering learning and collaboration among participating families. In particular, we are organizing programs to provide support to women in need, helping them gain economic independence and improve their lives.
Honorable leaders!
Esteemed guests, and all families!
This Family Day celebration is not just about fun and games; it is an opportunity for families to express love, responsibility, and create lasting memories. I ask that all participants today follow the event's guidelines, fully engage in the activities, and showcase their family talents. We also hope for a fair and responsible judging process, ensuring that the event’s success is measured by the meaningful experiences shared.
The success of today's event would not have been possible without the support of local leaders, government agencies, and the wholehearted participation of women from across the city. I would like to extend a special thanks to all those who have helped make this Family Day celebration possible.
Once again, I thank all of you for being here today. I wish you all health, happiness, and a wonderful celebration. Let us now officially open the Vietnam Family Day Festival for 20xx.

2. Vietnam Family Day Speech #5, June 28th
Esteemed delegates!
The 2002 United Nations General Assembly document on children recognizes the family as the fundamental unit of society that needs to be strengthened. Without strong families, there can be no strong society. Without good children, there can be no good citizens. President Ho Chi Minh once said: "Taking care of families is important because many families together form society; a good society creates good families, and good families make a good society." Our Party and State have always focused on and implemented policies to preserve family values and create conditions for all sectors, levels, and individuals to help build prosperous and happy Vietnamese families. Despite the pressures of globalization and the market economy, the structure and relationships within Vietnamese families have changed, sometimes weakening traditions. However, the core values of the family remain sacred to every Vietnamese. The family continues to be the institution that preserves the finest cultural traditions.
After being officially recognized, Vietnam Family Day on June 28th has become a significant tradition for us all. It is a day to renew our spirit of family and respect for our ancestors—nurturing love, kindness, and noble values of our people. Vietnam Family Day has become a time to honor and promote traditions, family customs, and reflect on how to create prosperous, progressive, and happy families that contribute to the sustainable development of both our families and our country.
As our country progresses, Vietnam Family Day has evolved into a nationwide celebration, a beautiful cultural practice where love and sharing are celebrated. The celebrations of Vietnam Family Day have grown increasingly diverse, attracting broad participation from people across the country.
Dear comrades and fellow citizens,
Every nation and every people must prioritize the care and protection of families if they are to survive and thrive. The rapid development and deeper global integration present many challenges for Vietnam, especially in preserving and developing our families. Building a new person is inseparable from promoting the values of traditional families.
To create a major shift in the development of Vietnamese families, I propose that ministries, localities, agencies, units, and individuals take concrete actions to honor and strengthen the values of the Vietnamese family. This includes the following key steps:
First, continue to effectively implement the Party and State's policies on families, ensuring comprehensive actions in the Vietnam Family Development Strategy 20xx Vision 20xx, the National Action Program on Domestic Violence Prevention, and the Family Life Education Program until 20xx.
Second, raise awareness of the crucial role of families in the broader social development. A stable family leads to a stable and prosperous society. Social policies must focus on the impacts on family life.
Third, improve state management on family affairs and actively coordinate between ministries, localities, and sectors on family work. Set clear annual priorities that align with the country's development plan and strengthen the family workforce.
Fourth, enhance information and communication on family values, highlight positive role models, and criticize behaviors that do not align with traditional values and family norms.
Fifth, promote the activities of the national movement for building cultural lives and cultural families. Focus on studying the evolution of modern Vietnamese families, and propose policies that are relevant and effective. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has worked hard, and I hope that further efforts will continue to improve the important work of this area.
On this Vietnam Family Day, on behalf of the Government of Vietnam, I sincerely thank the cooperation and support from governments of other countries, international organizations, donors, and all individuals who have contributed to Vietnam's development and the advancement of family-related work.
I wish all delegates, distinguished guests, comrades, and fellow citizens health, happiness, and success.
I also wish all Vietnamese families peace, progress, and happiness. "Fill a home with love, and it will become a happy family."
Thank you very much.

3. Vietnam Family Day Speech No. 6
Distinguished delegates!
Today, we are all thrilled to gather here for the xxth celebration of Vietnam Family Day, a day of profound importance for every Vietnamese family, both within our borders and abroad. This day is dedicated to highlighting the collective responsibility of all sectors, organizations, and citizens in building prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy families, and in advancing the protection, care, and education of children.
Esteemed delegates,
Throughout the history of Vietnam's nation-building and defense, the family has always played a central role as the foundation of society. It is the cornerstone that preserves our lineage, nurtures, and educates individuals, helps combat social ills, and produces the human resources needed to build and protect the nation.
The Vietnamese family has been built and developed with admirable values, including patriotism, love for the homeland, mutual care, respect, loyalty, devotion to learning, hard work, creativity, and resilience in overcoming challenges. These cherished values have been passed down through generations, and they remain a precious inheritance for us today and for future generations to continue building upon.
Distinguished delegates,
For each Vietnamese individual, the family is the source of all achievements. It is the starting point and refuge that provides strength to overcome all challenges in both work and life. The family is also the final sanctuary in a person’s life. When we achieve success, it is with the support of our families. When we face hardship or failure, the family provides hope and strength. The Vietnamese family is always a place of peace for each individual. The love, care, and nurturing provided by the family, as well as the sacrifices made to ensure the best for future generations, are immense sources of strength that shape each individual. They also remind us of our responsibility to our families and our nation. The old adage, 'Children rely on their parents, and parents rely on their children,' is a valuable philosophy that has been passed down through generations. A nation’s progress and the stability of the homeland are inseparable from the warmth and happiness of its families.
The names of the great heroes, renowned figures, and revolutionary leaders of our nation have always been shaped by the love, care, and education they received from their families—where parents, despite hardships, always strived to provide the best for their children.

4. Vietnam Family Day Speech No. 7
Honorable leaders!
Distinguished delegates!
The family is the fundamental building block of society, preserving our heritage. It is the vital space where character is nurtured, traditional values are upheld, social ills are combated, and human resources are developed to serve the nation’s progress and protection. Every country and culture must prioritize the care and protection of the family to maintain happiness and unity among its members.
Over generations, the Vietnamese family has evolved while holding strong to cherished values that contribute to the national cultural identity. These values—patriotism, community support, loyalty, respect for elders, love of learning, diligence, resilience, and the ability to overcome challenges—have been preserved and cultivated by Vietnamese families throughout our history, continuing to guide us and future generations in building a prosperous nation.
As President Ho Chi Minh stated, focusing on the family is key: "Many families together make up a society. A strong society starts with strong families, and a good society makes families even stronger. The family is the core of society." In line with this vision, on June 28, 2000, the Central Party Secretariat issued Directive No. 55-CT/TW to strengthen the leadership in child protection, care, and education. On May 4, 2001, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision No. 72/2001/QD-TTg, establishing June 28th as Vietnam Family Day, a day to emphasize the collective responsibility of all sectors to foster warm, equal, progressive, and happy families, and to promote the protection and education of children as part of building and protecting our nation.
In response to the National Action Month Against Domestic Violence, the Family Work Steering Committee of the province launched a campaign with the theme "Families as a Resource and Responsibility in Combating Domestic Violence," aimed at raising awareness and responsibility within families and communities for preventing domestic violence. The campaign also includes supporting victims and recognizing those who have contributed significantly to combating domestic violence.
In the year 20xx, the province continued promoting Vietnam Family Day with the theme "A Warm Family Meal of Love," which emphasizes the importance of family reunions and the invaluable emotional ties among family members, such as those between grandparents, parents, children, siblings, and spouses, as well as the responsibility to nurture and respect children.
Honorable leaders!
Distinguished delegates and all families!
For the year 20xx, the theme for Vietnam Family Day is "Building the Character of Vietnamese People Through Family Ethics and Lifestyle Education," aiming to raise awareness of the family's crucial role in shaping individuals' lives. It focuses on organizing family life, promoting gender equality within families, preventing domestic violence, and highlighting the deep humanitarian values of Vietnamese families. It also encourages the adoption of civilized lifestyles and the creation of family cultures, while honoring the invaluable traditions passed down through generations to foster harmonious, prosperous, and happy families.
In celebrating Vietnam Family Day on June 28th, let each individual organize a family reunion, a gathering of family members to reflect on and reinforce the traditional values of Vietnamese family life. This will help make "Family Day" a widely celebrated occasion, one that is deeply meaningful and will continue to be passed down as an enduring cultural event within every Vietnamese family.

5. Vietnam Family Day Speech No. 8
Honorable leaders!
Distinguished delegates, and all families!
To enhance the responsibility of various sectors, levels, organizations, and families in promoting prosperous, progressive, and happy family units, while simultaneously honoring the deep humanitarian values of Vietnamese families, efforts are being made to raise awareness. These efforts include increasing public knowledge of cultural behavior within families and communities, through campaigns like the radio broadcasts by the City Exhibition Information Center in celebration of Vietnam Family Day on June 28th, 20xx, and the National Action Month for Combating Domestic Violence.
The family is the cornerstone of society, a safe haven for all, where individuals' characters are shaped and cultural traditions are preserved and passed down. On May 4, 2001, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision No. 72/2001/QD-TTg, officially declaring June 28th each year as Vietnam Family Day. This day honors the role of the family, encouraging unity, love, and mutual support between spouses, while highlighting the importance of nurturing happy, equal, and progressive families.
Distinguished delegates!
Honorable leaders, and all families!
Today, Vietnamese families are evolving with progressive human values, focusing on the principles of equality, happiness, and respect for children's rights. Gender equality in domestic roles is becoming more prevalent, with women increasingly involved in important family decisions and political activities. Children's rights are now legally recognized and supported by both society and the family unit.
However, the challenges posed by industrialization and modernization present significant obstacles for families. The negative impacts of market-driven economies, selfish lifestyles, and an overemphasis on individual freedoms have begun to erode traditional family values in some households. Issues such as rising domestic violence, weakening family ties, and widening gaps between parents and children are becoming more common. These changes are threatening the warmth and closeness once found within the family.
For families to remain a source of happiness and cultural preservation, it is essential that family members respect and cherish the time-honored values of traditional Vietnamese family life. At the same time, they must adapt to the new challenges of modernity and work together to prevent social vices. An important way to strengthen family bonds is by maintaining the tradition of shared family meals, a practice that reflects the values of our culture and aligns with the needs of today's world.
This year's celebration of Vietnam Family Day, on June 28th, is an opportunity to encourage families to prioritize shared meals and daily family time, which will help preserve the cultural values of Vietnamese family life. Additionally, the celebration is part of the National Action Month for Combating Domestic Violence, with the theme "Family - A Resource and Responsibility in Preventing Domestic Violence," which emphasizes the crucial role of the family in fostering happiness and safeguarding traditional cultural values in an era of industrialization and modernization.

6. Vietnam Family Day Speech No. 9
Honorable delegates!
On June 28, 2000, in accordance with President Ho Chi Minh's vision, the Party Central Secretariat issued Directive No. 55-CT/TW to enhance the leadership of grassroots Party committees in child protection, care, and education. On May 4, 2001, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision No. 72/2001/QD-TTg, declaring June 28th as Vietnam Family Day. This decision emphasizes the need for continuous attention from all sectors and society to build prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy families while prioritizing child protection and education to contribute to the construction and defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The family is a vital cell of society, ensuring the continuity of the human race, and is a crucial environment for the formation, nurturing, and education of human character. It also plays a key role in preserving and promoting the noble cultural traditions of our nation, combating social evils, and creating a strong workforce to serve the development and defense of the country.
Family is not only interconnected with neighbors, workplaces, and schools but also forms the most solid educational foundation, ensuring holistic human development. Every country and nation must protect and care for the family to ensure its survival and growth. A joyful, warm, loving family environment, coupled with the spirit of study, training, and dedicated labor, makes every family member feel happy.
Honorable delegates!
Over generations, Vietnamese families have developed with enduring values, contributing to the formation of our national cultural identity. These invaluable traditions, such as patriotism, love for the homeland, mutual support, loyalty, filial piety, respect for learning, hard work, creativity in labor, and resilience in overcoming challenges, have been cherished and passed down through the history of building and defending the nation. While family structures and relationships have evolved over time, the fundamental role of the family remains essential to the economic and social development of our country.
As Vietnam undergoes industrialization and modernization, with the goal of becoming a largely industrial nation by 20xx, the Party and State have implemented significant policies to advance the family development sector. Local authorities have reviewed and assessed family management policies to ensure that family work remains a central task in annual economic and social development plans. Efforts are focused on eliminating outdated customs in marriage and family, preventing social evils and domestic violence, combating selfish lifestyles contrary to national customs, and ensuring the protection of human rights, especially for girls and disadvantaged children. The State and society share responsibility in maintaining the stability and development of the family unit, with Party members, officials, and civil servants setting an example in fostering cultural families and encouraging communities to promote cultural lifestyles.
Honorable delegates!
The family is not only the place where material wealth is produced to sustain its members but also where the continuity of the human race is maintained. It is the first home that shapes human character. Family matters are not only of concern to individuals and sociologists but also to the broader societal framework, reflected in the actions and policies of the Party, the State, and the people. Today, family is no longer a private concern but a shared issue for every country and the international community.
To honor Vietnam Family Day on June 28th, we should gather with our families, celebrate with loved ones, and strengthen connections with neighbors, workplaces, schools, and society. Collective efforts from all political and social organizations are essential to recalling the traditional values and cultural heritage of our nation. This will ensure that Vietnam Family Day becomes a significant event, a celebration of human values, and a cherished tradition in every Vietnamese family.

7. Vietnam Family Day Speech No. 10
Dear mothers and sisters,
Honorable delegates,
As the entire nation engages in various activities celebrating Vietnam Family Day (June 28) and preparing for the commemoration of the 6xth Anniversary of the Fallen Soldiers' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 20xx), the conference today honoring policy families who have overcome hardship to build happy families, organized by the Vietnam Women's Union in Hanoi, holds great significance. It encourages and supports policy families to overcome difficulties, escape poverty, and build a prosperous life.
I am both pleased and moved to meet with delegates who represent hundreds of thousands of policy families from across the country. On behalf of the Party and the State leadership, I extend a warm greeting, heartfelt wishes, and my sincere appreciation to all delegates, mothers, and sisters. I wish the conference great success and valuable experiences.
Esteemed delegates,
Throughout our nation's great struggles for independence and defense, alongside the entire people, our mothers, sisters, and policy families have endured many sacrifices, contributing enormously to the creation of the prosperous and peaceful life we enjoy today. The noble qualities of “heroic, resilient, loyal, and industrious” Vietnamese women have been recognized and praised by our Party and people. These qualities continue to shine today, under the spirit of “gold is tested by fire, strength is tested by hardship.” We deeply admire the faces of mothers and sisters in both the battlefield and peacetime, who have created a powerful symbol of Vietnamese women in the era of Ho Chi Minh.
For many years, the Party and the State have implemented numerous “gratitude” policies for those who contributed to the nation’s defense, supporting policy families in their efforts to eradicate poverty. With these significant efforts, along with their own determination, our mothers and sisters have continuously risen above adversity, showing initiative and creativity, utilizing government and social resources to build businesses, improve their family’s economic conditions, and increase income. We greatly admire the resilience of those who sacrificed so much for our country and now carry out Uncle Ho's teachings, proving that “though broken, they are not useless,” continuing their fight on the economic front to improve their lives and build happy families.
These women not only bravely overcame personal losses and challenges but also became strong pillars in their families amidst the struggles of everyday life. They never viewed themselves as merely beneficiaries of social policies, but as equal partners in sharing the weight of responsibility for society as a whole. In addition to fulfilling their noble roles as devoted wives and mothers, they also performed their duties as citizens and active members of their communities. Their quiet contributions have further highlighted the proud traditions and the integrity of our people, adding to the beauty of Vietnam's land and culture.
The recognition today is a testament to the efforts of our mothers and sisters, and is deeply rooted in the solidarity and support of their families, communities, the government, and all levels of society. The Party and State highly value the contributions made by local governments and organizations in helping policy families overcome difficulties and achieve prosperity. The Vietnam Women’s Union has also continuously promoted the “gratitude” movement, providing policy families with opportunities to access poverty reduction programs, and equipping them with knowledge to build strong, warm families, fostering a healthier, more prosperous, and happier society.
With appropriate policies and initiatives, the Party and State have paved the way for individuals and families to improve their quality of life and build happiness. The Politburo's Resolution 47 on strengthening family planning and the Party's Secretariat's Directive 49 on family issues are concrete steps toward a Vietnam where families are prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy.
The Women's Union at all levels has persistently and actively utilized available resources, organized vocational training, guided economic development, and demonstrated successful models for poverty reduction, helping countless families thrive and create stable, sustainable livelihoods.
On behalf of the Party and State leadership, I would like to commend the exemplary families and express my appreciation for the Women's Union's substantial contributions to the implementation of “gratitude” policies in recent years.
Dear colleagues,
Honorable delegates,
Our country is standing at the threshold of new opportunities, as well as challenges. Our Party, people, and military are working tirelessly to fulfill the goals set forth in the 10th Party Congress, promoting economic and social development, proactively engaging in global economic integration, and striving to lift our nation out of poverty. In light of these new demands and with the immense pride we take in the illustrious history and traditions of Vietnamese women, we must deepen our awareness of the significant responsibilities of Vietnamese women in the coming era. We urge the Party, government, and all social organizations to continue offering their support and promptly assist policy families in overcoming hardships and achieving prosperity through their own efforts.
I believe that in the years to come, the movement to help policy families build happy lives, initiated by the Vietnam Women's Union, will continue to achieve even greater success, providing better conditions for policy families to improve their lives and find happiness.
On this occasion of the nationwide commemoration of the 6xth Anniversary of Fallen Soldiers' Day, on behalf of the Party and State, I express my profound gratitude and heartfelt regards to our heroic Vietnamese mothers, veterans, and all policy families across the country. I trust that the noble qualities and heroic traditions of Vietnamese women will be further nurtured and upheld in the coming revolutionary period.
I wish all delegates, mothers, sisters, and comrades good health, happiness, and success!
Thank you!

8. Speech for Vietnam Family Day 28/6 No. 1
Honorable delegates, comrades, and friends!
As our country celebrates Vietnam Family Day (June 28) with numerous activities across the nation, this day holds immense significance for every Vietnamese family, both at home and abroad. Vietnam Family Day is aimed at highlighting the collective responsibility of all sectors, organizations, and society as a whole in building warm, equal, progressive, and happy families while promoting the protection, care, and education of children.
Esteemed delegates!
Over generations, the Vietnamese family has developed and thrived with noble values that have shaped our national identity. Traditional values such as patriotism, love for one’s homeland, mutual support, respect for parents, a thirst for knowledge, diligence, creativity in labor, and resilience in overcoming challenges have been preserved and cultivated by Vietnamese families throughout history, both in peace and during times of war.
While the structure and relationships within Vietnamese families have evolved over time, the core functions of the family have remained intact, and the family continues to be an essential factor in the nation’s social and economic development.
Vietnam Family Day serves as a major cultural event to honor these enduring traditional family values. It is also an occasion for families to come together, share experiences, and build a cultural foundation for the family, aiming towards sustainable development in the context of industrialization, modernization, and global integration.
Dear comrades!
Honorable delegates!
President Ho Chi Minh once stated, “Caring for the family is vital, for it is through families that society is formed; a good society starts with good families, and only good families can build a good society.” Our Party and State have consistently prioritized and implemented policies to preserve the value of the family and provide all the necessary conditions for individuals and communities to contribute to building prosperous and happy Vietnamese families. Despite the challenges brought on by globalization and the market economy, the core values of family remain sacred to every Vietnamese person. The family continues to be the institution that preserves the best aspects of our cultural heritage.
After 19 years of recognition, Vietnam Family Day on June 28 has become a meaningful tradition for all Vietnamese people. It is a day that celebrates family unity and remembrance of our ancestors—nurturing beautiful feelings and valuable humanistic traditions. Vietnam Family Day is now a time to reflect on and enhance the customs, morals, and family traditions, urging each individual to take meaningful action towards building warm, happy, and progressive families, with a focus on the sustainable development of both families and the nation.
As our nation develops, Vietnam Family Day has gradually become a national celebration, a cultural highlight that celebrates love, sharing, and togetherness. The activities celebrating this day have become more diverse and engaging, drawing greater participation from the people.
Dear comrades!
Honorable delegates!
With these meaningful objectives in mind, on behalf of the leadership of the Town People's Committee, I hereby declare the launch of the National Action Month for the Prevention of Domestic Violence in 20xx, in celebration of Vietnam Family Day.
I wish the leaders of the town, delegates attending the ceremony to mark the 22nd anniversary of Vietnam Family Day, and the launch of the National Action Month for the Prevention of Domestic Violence good health and success in this important initiative.

9. Speech for Vietnam Family Day 28/6 (No. 2)
Esteemed delegates, comrades, and friends!
Today, we gather here with immense joy to celebrate the xxth anniversary of Vietnam Family Day, a day that holds great significance for all the people and families of Vietnam, both within the country and abroad. This day is dedicated to emphasizing the collective responsibility of all sectors, organizations, and the public to foster warm, equal, progressive, and happy families, as well as to promote efforts to protect, care for, and educate children. On behalf of the leadership of the Town People’s Committee and the Family Affairs Steering Committee, I warmly welcome all delegates to join us in celebrating the xxth anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (28/6/2001 - 28/6/20xx) and in launching and supporting the National Action Month for Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence.
Distinguished delegates!
President Ho Chi Minh once affirmed, 'A society is made up of many families; a good family creates a good society, and a good society strengthens families. Families are the foundation of society.'
For generations, Vietnamese families have formed and evolved with valuable traditions that contribute to building our national cultural identity. These values—patriotism, love for the homeland, mutual support, loyalty, respect for education, hard work, and resilience in the face of adversity—have been preserved and promoted throughout our history. Despite changes in family structures and relationships over time, the core functions of the family remain intact, and it continues to be a vital and irreplaceable factor in the country’s social and economic development.
Comrades! Distinguished delegates!
As someone once said: 'To have a place to return to is to have a home. To have someone to love is to have a family. To have both is true happiness.' The family is the sacred and peaceful foundation of every person’s life, where character is first formed and nurtured. It is within the family that one can feel boundless love and understanding. A happy home is perhaps the most universal and profound dream for every human being. That is why, on May 4, 2001, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 72/2001/QD-TTG, declaring June 28 as Vietnam Family Day and June as the National Action Month for Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence. This is a true opportunity for each of us, each family, and each organization to take responsibility for building strong families and creating meaningful changes that ensure every Vietnamese family is a true home and a healthy part of society.
The collective attention from all levels of government, organizations, and society to family affairs has significantly improved the material and spiritual lives of families. The 'National Solidarity to Build a Cultural Life' movement in our town has seen remarkable progress in recent years, confirming its new development both in quantity and quality. This movement has had a positive impact on the social and economic life of both urban and rural areas, fostering local democracy, political stability, maintaining security, and combating social evils. Efforts to preserve and promote the traditional culture of ethnic minorities have been actively supported. Cultural services are growing, while outdated practices such as superstitions and harmful customs are gradually being eliminated.
Comrades! Distinguished delegates!
The celebration of the xxth anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (28/6/2001 - 28/6/20xx) and the launch of the National Action Month for Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence remind us that the family is one of the most important factors in the success of the country’s industrialization, modernization, and the building of socialism. Investing in families is investing in sustainable development; families bear responsibility not only to their members but also to society. The state and society must ensure the protection and development of families. Building strong families is inseparable from the cause of women’s liberation. Party members and officials must set an example by caring for their own families and encouraging others to do the same.
With these thoughts in mind, on behalf of the leadership of the Town People’s Committee, I hereby announce the launch of the National Action Month for Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence for the year 20xx in celebration of Vietnam Family Day.
I wish good health and success to the leaders, delegates, and all attendees of this important event. May every Vietnamese family be blessed with happiness, progress, and prosperity.

10. Public Announcement for Vietnam Family Day 28/6
Dear comrades and friends!
The family is the fundamental unit of society, the cradle that nurtures, and the environment where children’s character is shaped and developed. Building a prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy family contributes to the broader effort of building and safeguarding our nation. It is the responsibility of various government bodies, social organizations, and each citizen to ensure the well-being of families. Furthermore, building strong families also means preserving and promoting our rich cultural heritage, combating social vices, and creating a workforce to support the development of the country. Every nation and people who wish to survive and prosper must understand the importance of nurturing and protecting families, creating an atmosphere where every member feels happiness and security. Over generations, Vietnamese families have formed and evolved based on values that contribute to the identity of our nation. These cherished traditions—patriotism, love for the homeland, mutual care, loyalty, respect for education, hard work, resilience in the face of adversity—have been preserved and passed down through history as we built and defended our country.
President Ho Chi Minh once stated: “Many families together make up society; a good family creates a good society, and a good society strengthens families. The nucleus of society is the family.” On June 28, 2000, the Central Committee issued Directive No. 55-CT/TW to enhance leadership in protecting, caring for, and educating children. On May 4, 2001, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 72/2001/QD-TTg establishing Vietnam Family Day on June 28 every year, emphasizing the role of leadership at all levels in promoting warm, equal, progressive, and happy families, while also focusing on the protection and education of children as part of building and safeguarding our country.
As Vietnam progresses, the structure and relationships within families have evolved, but the fundamental functions of the family remain intact. The family continues to play a critical role in the country’s social and economic development.
Dear comrades and friends!
At the beginning of this year, the District People’s Committee issued a directive to implement the “Family Affairs Program for the Year 20xx”; based on this directive, local authorities have actively created plans for various activities such as organizing the Sustainable Family Club, providing opportunities for families to exchange experiences on child-rearing and upholding the traditional values of Vietnamese families. The club focuses on the family’s role in preventing social vices, combating domestic violence, and promoting the values of a “prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy” family.
Dear comrades and friends!
It can be said that the family is both an economic and social unit—where material wealth is created to sustain families and society—and it is the first shelter where human beings are nurtured and character is formed. The family is not just an individual concern or a subject for scientific research; it is a societal institution that involves everyone. Today, the issue of family is no longer a private matter, but a national and international concern.
In honor of Vietnam Family Day on June 28, let us all come together with our families, organize gatherings, and reflect on the values and traditions that bind us. This will strengthen the bonds between family members, ensuring that Family Day becomes a meaningful and significant celebration for Vietnamese families, an event that carries deep human values and will be passed down through generations.
