This Central African nation is currently maintaining a fertility rate of 5.5 children per woman, which means that by 2050, Nigeria's population is expected to reach 397 million people, surpassing all other countries in the region.

2. Indonesia
This Southeast Asian country currently has a population of around 256 million people. With a high annual growth rate, Indonesia's population is expected to rise by about 110 million by 2050, placing it fifth in the global population ranking, with an estimated total of 366 million people.

3. Pakistan
Currently, Pakistan's population stands at 166 million. The PRB warns that if the country does not take action to address its high birth rate, by 2050, Pakistan's population could reach 344 million people, more than double its current size.

4. Brazil
A report from Brazil indicates that since the 1960s, the country's birth rate has significantly declined, affecting its population growth. Currently, Brazil's birth rate is 1.8 children per woman, and its population is increasingly aging. By 2050, Brazil's population is expected to reach 226 million people, with a large proportion of the population over working age.

5. Bangladesh
Bangladesh is currently ranked 8th among the most populous countries in the world. By 2050, this ranking is expected to remain unchanged, though the country's population will continue to grow. Despite a relatively high migration rate, the PRB projects that Bangladesh's population will increase by tens of millions, reaching 202 million people by 2050.

6. Democratic Republic of the Congo
Currently, 45% of the population in the Congo is under the age of 1. The country's population density is increasing rapidly. In just over 30 years, as this age group enters the workforce and reproductive age, the population growth rate will skyrocket. By 2050, the population could double from its current size, reaching 194 million people.

Although Ethiopia's population is currently at 98.1 million, the PRB predicts that if the country does not implement stricter population control laws and manage its high growth rate, Ethiopia's population could reach 165 million people by 2050.

8. India
Currently the second most populous country after China, India is projected to surpass China by 2050, becoming the most populous country in the world with an estimated population of 1.66 billion people. Despite high infant mortality rates and a growing gender imbalance, India's population growth is expected to reach 1.5 times the combined population of all Western European countries by 2050.

9. China
For the past four centuries, no country has surpassed China in population size. According to the PRB, China will retain its position as the most populous nation until 2030, with an estimated 1.42 billion people. However, by 2050, China's population growth rate is expected to turn negative, resulting in a decline to 1.366 billion people.

10. United States
The PRB predicts that by 2050, the United States will remain the third most populous country in the world, with an estimated population of 398 million people. As life expectancy continues to rise, the U.S. population will increasingly age, and migration rates are expected to rise significantly in the future.
