CallHanoi National University was established according to Decree No. 97/CP dated December 10, 1993 of the Government on the basis of reorganizing and rearranging three large universities in Hanoi: Hanoi General University and Hanoi University of Foreign Languages. Hanoi National University (VNU) officially started operating under the Regulation issued by the Prime Minister on September 5, 1994. The tradition of VNU is associated with the history of formation and development of typical universities in Vietnam throughout the XX century, starting from Dong Duong University (May 16, 1906) located at 19 Le Thanh Tong, Hanoi. This was the first modern university in Vietnam (during the French colonial period) organized according to the model of multi-disciplinary and multi-field universities. After the successful August Revolution, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam established the National University of Vietnam based on inheriting Dong Duong University and started the first academic year on November 15, 1945. The National University of Vietnam has an organizational structure and training programs following the model of a multi-disciplinary and multi-field university, absorbing the essence of human culture, and building the foundation of revolutionary education to meet the need for training scientific cadres to serve the resistance war and national construction.
Hanoi National University (VNU) is one of the most prestigious universities in Vietnam today, ranking 183rd in Asia (August 2022). This is the university with the highest number of Professors, Associate Professors, Researchers, and PhDs in Vietnam with 73 Professors, 365 Associate Professors, 1,313 Researchers, and PhDs. The percentage of lecturers with a doctoral degree or higher is 60%. Call NowUniversity of Da Nang was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Da Nang city. It is a multidisciplinary university and one of Vietnam's 18 key universities. With the mission of training human resources with humanitarian spirit, creative thinking, and determination to start businesses; having integrity, principles, and adaptability to the rapidly changing domestic and international labor environment; pioneering in preserving national identity, disseminating scientific knowledge, and contributing to building a peaceful and prosperous Vietnam. University of Da Nang will continue to improve its assets such as laboratories, workshops, and libraries; expand its scale and fields of training, focus on high technology, innovate training programs and teaching methods, enhance training quality, and apply research results into practice to meet the requirements of the country's economic renovation. The Prime Minister has approved the overall plan of University of Da Nang, including a 300-hectare land area in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc, 15 km southeast of Da Nang city center. Site preparation and infrastructure work have begun.
University of Da Nang currently has about 2,300 staff, including 1,760 lecturers (82 professors and associate professors, 283 PhDs, 975 masters, 750 senior lecturers and main lecturers, 960 lecturers), and is currently educating over 90,000 students. Members, units, and individuals of University of Da Nang have been awarded the First-class Labor Medal, Second-class Labor Medal, and Third-class Labor Medal, as well as many other prestigious awards. University of Da Nang aims to maintain a reasonable scale of education, with nearly 47,000 regular students, over 1,300 postgraduate students and research students, and 800 international exchange students. It recruits an average of 11,300 new students each year (undergraduate level).
