As a result, its price can be quite high and it is in great demand.
Harvesting termite mushrooms requires rising early and a bit of luck, as their lifespan is very short. By midday, they begin to wither or are consumed by animals and insects. Therefore, locals must quickly collect them to prevent spoilage. The mushroom naturally has a sweet flavor, so there’s no need to add meat, fish, or MSG when cooking, as it would overpower its distinctive taste. Termite Mushroom is known for its unique sweet and fragrant taste, with a chewy texture that sets it apart from other mushrooms. This rare and delicious treat is highly prized, especially during the early harvest season.

The mushroom is named 'Seafood Mushroom' because of its seafood-like characteristics and taste. Its cap is small, white, and its stems are thick and long. It is packed with nutrients such as vitamins and minerals that are essential for the body. The Seafood Mushroom also contains active compounds that can help prevent cancer, one of the major diseases of the century. Due to its high nutritional value, it is a popular ingredient in households, regularly featured in meals. As it is 100% sourced from Vietnam, the flavor of the mushroom is guaranteed, especially when combined with other local ingredients.

6. Green Lim Fungus
The Green Lim Fungus (Ganoderma Lucidum), according to the book 'Rare Medicinal Plants of Vietnam,' is a unique species that only grows on the green lim tree in virgin forests in Vietnam and Laos. Scientifically known as Ganoderma lucidum (Leyss. Ex Fr.) Karst., this fungus belongs to the Ganodermataceae family. Clinical trials have shown that Green Lim Fungus has therapeutic properties, divided into two categories: the first includes supporting and preventing treatments for cancer, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver, prostate enlargement, recovery from strokes, gout, arthritis, joint pain, diabetes, and digestive issues like stomach ulcers and colitis; the second group involves liver detoxification, cholesterol reduction, blood pressure regulation, and weight loss.
Doctors advise that while Green Lim Fungus can be beneficial, it should not replace conventional treatments. The effects of traditional medicine and modern medicine differ in their mechanisms, so combining both is often recommended. This rare mushroom, found only in pristine forests, is a prized health supplement used to restore bodily functions and enhance vitality. It is renowned for its potential to support the treatment of cancer, high cholesterol, hypertension, liver detoxification, and gout.

7. Chicken Fat Mushroom

8. Heart Bamboo Mushroom
Heart Bamboo Mushroom, also known as the Queen’s Mushroom, is scientifically named Dictyophora indusiata. This premium mushroom is not only beneficial for health but also has many medicinal properties. Studies have shown that extracts from Heart Bamboo Mushroom can help prevent and treat diseases such as breast cancer, gout, and boost the immune system. The mushroom has a range of benefits, including enhancing energy, improving lung and brain functions, stabilizing blood pressure, and contains Polysaccharides—biologically active compounds with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Polysaccharides are particularly effective in stimulating immune responses and treating gynecological diseases, while also helping prevent tumors in women. The mushroom typically grows in the soil, with a dark brown or black conical cap covered by a slimy coating when young. As it matures, the cap expands to reveal a network-like structure, golden or white in color, that covers the entire mushroom, which is often compared to a 'veil' worn by court beauties of ancient times. This extravagant appearance and color make the Heart Bamboo Mushroom far more striking than regular mushrooms. This is one reason why it is also referred to as the Queen’s Mushroom. The mushroom’s cap, where the dark, slimy coating is found, emits an unpleasant odor that attracts insects such as flies and mosquitoes. Consequently, if not harvested in time, the mushroom will quickly decay and spoil once the covering splits open.

9. Sun Mushroom
Sun Mushroom (also known as the Sun Hat Mushroom, Princess Mushroom, Royal Mushroom, or God’s Mushroom) originates from Brazil and is now cultivated in various parts of the world, including Vietnam. The first appearance of the Sun Mushroom in Vietnam was in Dong Thap. This mushroom has a gray, pink, or reddish-brown cap with tiny fiber-like strands, while its stem is white. Sun Mushroom contains a high protein content of 40-50%, as well as essential vitamins like B1, B2, K, and 6-8% fiber.
