The peak is beautiful year-round, with each season offering a unique experience. The most popular times to visit are between September and November, and from March to May, when the weather is dry, making travel easier and the scenery simply breathtaking. From September to October, this is the 'golden season' when rice fields in Sapa and the wider Northwest region turn a brilliant yellow. If you're eager to gaze upon the vast terraced fields of golden rice from the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, be sure to book your trip now! From October to February, the Fansipan area may experience snow, and it's also the season for wildflowers of Northwest Vietnam. While this is a prime travel period, be mindful that weather conditions could affect services and make the journey more challenging. Keep an eye on the forecast to best prepare for your adventure!
Between March and May, the area bursts into color as flowers like peach blossoms, plum blossoms, and especially the vibrant rhododendrons bloom. Fansipan is home to over 50 species of rhododendrons, each with unique colors and shapes. From June to August, when much of Vietnam experiences warm summer weather, Fansipan enters its rainy season. June is when rivers and streams swell, nourishing the fields, while local wildlife such as fish, crabs, and frogs thrive. If you're visiting at this time, don't miss out on trying the local grilled fish, a specialty of the region. For adventure seekers, conquering Fansipan Peak is an exhilarating challenge. The trek to the summit, standing at 3,143 meters, is not for the faint of heart. It requires physical endurance, mental toughness, and preparation, but the sense of achievement when you reach the peak is unforgettable and well worth the effort!

4. Sapa Stone Church
Sapa Stone Church, also known as the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, is located at the heart of Sapa town and was constructed by the French in the early 20th century. Before laying the first stone, the French architects carefully selected the location for its construction. The church stands in a prime spot with Mount Ham Rong to the rear providing protection, and in front, a spacious flat land that could be developed for cultural activities. Visitors can view the church from all sides, and it is part of an architectural triangle that includes the Hoang Lien Hotel (formerly the French villa) and the former district office, now the Lao Cai Tourism Information Center, creating a unique French-style landmark.
The architectural design of Sapa Stone Church follows the Roman Gothic cross-shape, evident in the pointed arches, bell tower, and vaulted ceilings, lending the structure an elegant, soaring appearance. Built entirely from hewn stone (including walls, floor, bell tower, and the surrounding fence), the church is bonded with a mix of sand, lime, and molasses. The right side wall of the cross is designed to resemble flowing stalactites, adding to the natural beauty of the site. The roof is tiled, and the interior ceiling, made from a mixture of lime, straw, and metal, has not been renovated since its original construction. With a total area of over 6,000 m², the church grounds include the church itself, a rectory, priest's residence, a stable, a chapel, and a garden called the Sacred Garden.
