I hail from a coastal city where, after every summer, tourists come and go, leaving behind a substantial amount of litter near the shores. To tackle this issue, I rallied my classmates for beach cleanup sessions every afternoon. Armed with large bags and protective gloves, we diligently assigned areas for cleanup. Items like water bottles and aluminum cans were sorted and sold to raise funds for buying books for underprivileged students. Other types of waste were collected in bags and taken to the disposal area. Despite the physically demanding nature of the task, we found immense joy in contributing to the environmental well-being of our homeland.

This Sunday morning, my parents took me to the park for some leisure time. The park, adorned with numerous trees, provided a refreshing atmosphere. Notably, there was a pond within the park. While approaching the pond, we noticed a group of young volunteers using tools to collect litter from the water. I convinced my parents to join the volunteer team in cleaning up the pond. After typhoon number 2, my hometown in Quang Ngai had to bear the heavy consequences. A few days after the flood receded, houses and fields gradually appeared with a worn-out, desolate look due to the invasion of mud. The green trees that stood proudly for years were now knocked down by the wind. Some trees, lightly damaged, had broken branches, while others, heavier ones, had their roots completely uprooted, lying across the road. Debris from everywhere accumulated along the water flow, getting stuck in various places. If this situation persists, with just a bit of sunlight, my entire village will face pollution and the outbreak of diseases. Therefore, following the village leader's call, everyone in the village was determined to collectively overcome the aftermath of the typhoon. I and my friends took on the task of collecting garbage. We quickly got to work. Tuấn and I focused on the main road, while our friends Lan, Hải, Ngọc, Hùng divided into smaller alleys. In just the morning, we completed the task. We felt joyous for contributing our small efforts to bring a fresh beauty to our beloved village.
