6. Recounting an Exciting Class Activity - Assignment 7
During each school week, we have a session called 'Student Activities.' It serves as a time for us to relax after intense study hours and reflect on our personal progress, striving to be good students.
Class activities are regular sessions aimed at summarizing the week's events and planning for the upcoming tasks. It takes place during the fifth period every Friday, either in our classroom or the versatile multimedia room. The activities comprise two main parts. Firstly, the class representatives summarize the content, and the class leader takes notes. Subsequently, the teacher acknowledges and rewards outstanding students who excelled during the week. The teacher, secretary, and disciplinary committee address any misbehavior, ensuring fair disciplinary actions.
The second part involves discussing the tasks for the upcoming week, assigned by the school. The final segment is an arts and cultural exchange where the class showcases talents and receives commendations for good conduct. Moreover, the creative activities of student groups contribute to their life skills grades.
Class activities are indeed a time for the entire class to reflect on the week's accomplishments and areas for improvement. Alongside this, enjoyable recreational activities provide valuable experiences and positive values.
There were times when I made mistakes and had to stand in line for hours as a penalty. However, there were also numerous occasions when I achieved high grades, excelled in creative activities, and received praise and extra points for good conduct.
I remind myself to study hard, design engaging activities, and strive to become an exemplary class leader.
7. Recounting an Outdoor Classroom Session - Assignment 6
Last Sunday, our 6A1 class organized an outdoor session on 'Learning from the Exemplary Martyr Hero, Nguyen Van Troi.'
The entire class, consisting of 42 students, arranged seats in a U-shape. Our homeroom teacher presided over the event. She briefly spoke about the noble and beautiful life of the martyr hero, Nguyen Van Troi, and introduced a young speaker.
With a warm voice, a friend of Troi shared his life story with us. During his childhood, Troi lived in challenging conditions. Despite the hardships, he wholeheartedly loved the fellow laborers in the neighborhood and friends. After building a family with his sister Quyen, he devotedly took care of her.
As the narrative reached the part where he went to the schoolyard amidst 'hired writers and hired killers,' the entire class was emotionally moved. We felt a mix of affection and admiration for his bravery. He snatched off the black blindfold, stared directly at the enemy, and shouted, 'Hồ Chí Minh, eternal glory! Hồ Chí Minh, eternal glory!' The whole class spontaneously stood up. The image of him appeared truly beautiful.
Several students stood up to express their thoughts. Although they had read about Troi in books and newspapers for a long time, hearing about his life from his relatives was a different experience. Many acknowledged their shortcomings with the teacher, attributing their poor academic performance to a lack of determination and willpower. Several vowed to improve in the coming days.
Around ten o'clock, the teacher concluded the session. Hoai Thu sang a song about Troi.
The activity ended with the resounding chorus of 'Marching Forward, Youth Union' by the entire class. All students acknowledged the session as truly beneficial.
8. Recounting a Class Activity - Assignment 9
'Class activity' is probably a familiar term to all students. Throughout the week, the class activity holds significant importance as the homeroom teacher and students collectively assess their achievements and shortcomings in both academics and the class's overall discipline.
Our class activity takes place on the last school day of the week, which is Friday. The session includes the homeroom teacher, all students, and representatives from the parents' association. Typically, the class divides into groups, each with a group leader responsible for managing their group. The group leaders monitor and record the names of students who violate class rules, those who neglect homework are grouped together, and those who excel in class are recognized as a group. The class president oversees the overall class activities. During the session, the group leaders report on their group's status to the class president, who then reports to the teacher in front of the class.
After the class president's report, the homeroom teacher provides feedback on the class's situation and commends students who have achieved academic success during the week. For those who made mistakes, the teacher offers reminders to study diligently rather than imposing penalties, understanding that excessive punishment may create undue pressure. The commendations serve as motivation for the students to strive harder in the coming weeks.
The next activity in the session is a speech from a parent representative, presenting their opinions to the class. The representative suggests directions for academic and extracurricular improvement. Finally, there are performances presented to the teacher and the parent representative as a spirited encouragement for the students' academic endeavors in the new week.
The class activity is truly essential for every class. Without this activity, the class would lack the unity of a collective and the opportunity to reflect on the week's lessons, identifying areas for improvement to progress collectively.
9. Recounting a Classroom Activity - Assignment 8
Many classes dread certain lessons, fearing punishment and scrutiny. For us, that lesson is what I dub the 'Dreadful Class.'
I understand that this class aims to review the week's learning, providing a time for students and teachers to contribute ideas for the class's academic and character development.
It usually takes place during the fifth period on Saturdays, in the classroom. The main activity begins with preparation. Ten minutes before class, students prepare summary notebooks, commendations, and records of rule violations. When the bell rings, it's the same routine. Part 1 involves group leaders reporting on the situation and errors of each student. The class president then summarizes these violations by writing them on the board.
Truthfully, activities during this class are lively and swift, but as a student prone to mistakes, I am often afraid. Sometimes, I feel like a mischievous boy, distinct and difficult. Each time, I end up with my face against the board for hours. Besides, in the commendation part, students who excel during the week receive gifts from the teacher and the parents' association. Each time a teacher commends or handles violations, I either face penalties if not in the commendation group.
For Part 2, perhaps this part doesn't make me fearful; instead, it's a time when I confidently ask the teacher to participate. It's the time for cultural exchange and summarizing activities. Once, I sang confidently and received flowers as a reward from the teacher! It acted as motivation for unique students like me. Moreover, during outstanding class sessions, teachers show movies. I remember crying once while watching 'Homeless.'
These meaningful class activities serve as evaluations between individuals and from the teacher. There are moments of camaraderie, and we organize activities outside of class, which is endearing!
Perhaps now, I no longer fear the dreaded class with its penalties. I tell myself that I will play the instrument well, sing beautifully, and become a talented artist in the class.
10. Recounting a Classroom Activity - Assignment 10
As the week unfolds, myriad interesting experiences await me and my classmates. We learn, play, and inevitably make mistakes. Each week concludes with a class activity, a crucial session for self-reflection and improvement.
After the last class on Friday, our class leaders prepare for the weekly activity. Chairs are arranged neatly, the classroom is tidied during break, and everyone takes their seats. The drum announces the start, and soon after, our teacher enters with a warm smile. The class stands in a formal greeting.
The activity proceeds solemnly. Tuấn, our class president, begins by highlighting the positive aspects accomplished by the class during the week, including commendations for outstanding achievements, academic progress, and areas for improvement such as tardiness, forgetting red scarves, and improper disposal of trash. Tuấn comments, and the secretaries diligently note everything down. After summarizing the past week, Tuấn outlines plans for the next, addressing penalties for rule violations.
Following Tuấn's speech, the teacher shares her thoughts, praising students with good academic results, commending those who fulfilled their duties, and offering criticism for mistakes. She then focuses on academic matters, engaging in discussions with students to identify challenges and proposing reasonable schedules for effective studying. As the activity concludes, with all tasks completed successfully, the class stands to bid farewell to the teacher, promising to excel in the coming week.
The activity has taught me and my peers valuable lessons, revealing genuine care from our teacher and the collective effort within the class. I make a personal commitment to study even better, not to disappoint my parents and teachers.
