1. Betel Leaves
Betel leaves are a remarkable remedy with multiple benefits in disease treatment. Scientific studies have revealed that betel leaves contain various compounds such as tannins, flavonoids, phytosterols, etc. These components help reduce inflammation and promote rapid wound healing. Particularly, the tannins in betel leaves are utilized for their antibacterial properties, effectively combating infection and pus formation in external wounds. Harnessing these beneficial elements, betel leaf treatment for skin inflammation and vaginal infections has been widely adopted. Applying betel leaves to treat skin conditions aids in disinfecting the affected areas, enhancing skin recovery, alleviating itching, and reducing conditions like eczema, hives, and pimples. Betel trees are commonly grown for shade, but they also serve as a valuable medicinal plant, especially betel leaves for treating various ailments such as itching, hand-foot-mouth disease in young children, toothache in adults, and effectively addressing vaginal infections in women.
Implementation:
- Take a handful of betel leaves, around 10 leaves, ensuring they are neither too young nor too old.
- Clean each leaf thoroughly. If you have a grinder, place the leaves along with a pinch of salt into it, grind finely, then strain the liquid and boil for about 15 minutes. Let it cool and store in the refrigerator. If you don't have a grinder, boil 10 leaves with a pinch of salt in 1 liter of boiling water. Simmer for 30 minutes to extract all the resin from the leaves, strain the liquid, let it cool, and store in the fridge.
- Take approximately 4cc with a syringe each time, inject into the vagina three times a day to treat inflammation.
- Be persistent in applying this method for about 5 days, and you will notice significant changes. The discomfort of white discharge, dampness, and persistent itching will be relieved.
- Continue the process until complete recovery.


2. Garlic Bulb
Garlic is an essential spice in our daily meals. Besides being a spice, it is also an effective remedy in supporting the treatment of various diseases. According to traditional medicine, garlic has a bitter taste, cooling properties, and its effects include promoting qi circulation, dispelling dampness, and effectively disinfecting. In the book 'Medicinal Plants and Remedies in Vietnam' by Professor Đỗ Tất Lợi, garlic's components and effects are described as follows: 'The main component of garlic is a powerful antibiotic called allicin, a sulfur compound with strong antibacterial properties.' Due to the effective antibacterial properties of garlic, it has been applied in the treatment of gynecological infections from ancient times to the present.
Implementation:
- Use garlic for consumption or make garlic wine: Garlic, with its strong antibacterial properties, can be chewed daily (two to three cloves) for effective treatment of infections. Alternatively, soak garlic in rice wine or vinegar—about 250g of raw garlic with 0.65 liters of rice wine or vinegar for about 10 days. Take 3ml twice a day for effective treatment of vaginal inflammation.
- Use garlic for insertion: Peel a fresh garlic clove, thread it onto a sterile thread, and place it in the vagina before bedtime. Remove it in the morning for about four consecutive nights, and the dreaded condition will stay away from you.
- However, garlic is very hot, so it should be used whole to avoid irritation to the skin. When applying this method, if you feel uncomfortable, remove it immediately. Be cautious when applying this method, as incorrect application may lead to more serious consequences.


3. Tea Plant
Tea plant is a type of plant found in some mountainous areas in our country, abundant in North Central Vietnam. It has a bitter taste and anti-inflammatory properties, considered a miracle remedy for women after childbirth. After giving birth, it is common to give postpartum women tea made from this plant to quickly tighten and cleanse the uterus, ensuring the mother's well-being and preventing discomfort in the baby's stomach. This plant also cools and sweetens breast milk, making it very popular. Using this plant to make a hygiene solution for the intimate area after childbirth ensures cleanliness, dryness, and eliminates uncomfortable itching. Additionally, the tea plant is widely used in the food industry, alcoholic beverage production, fruit juices, pastries, and is an indispensable ingredient in various skin care products, skin regeneration, and anti-inflammatory and antibacterial products. Examples include black tea, actisco tea leaf powder, dried tea actisco leaf, tea xiro, and more.
Implementation:
- Simply take a handful of tea plant, wash it thoroughly, and boil it in water,
- When the water is warm, use it for washing and cleaning the intimate area. The high antibacterial and antifungal properties in this plant make it very effective.


4. Betel Leaf
Betel leaf is a moist leaf containing high levels of protein, fat, sugar, tannins, minerals, fiber, carbohydrates, vitamins, etc. Its light yellow essential oil has a strong, fragrant odor with a spicy taste. Due to these characteristics, betel leaves inhibit various bacterial strains, fungi, and microorganisms from entering the female intimate area. It effectively treats vaginal itching, prevents unpleasant odors. While it is effective in treating vaginal infections, proper application is crucial to avoid adverse effects and worsening inflammation.
Implementation:
- Take a handful of betel leaves, wash them thoroughly, squeeze the water out, add a little lukewarm water, and a pinch of salt for effective external hygiene.
- Alternatively, boil betel leaves in water, add a bit of salt, then use the mixture for steaming the intimate area. When the water cools, use it for external hygiene.
- When using betel leaves for treatment, note that it is a supportive method for mild inflammation. For severe conditions, consult a doctor, use prescribed medications, and consider betel leaves as a supplementary method.
- Avoid soaking in this solution, as it may increase the risk of bacterial infiltration. Use it only for external washing and steaming.


5. Elephant Ear Leaf
Elephant Ear is a wild plant found in some hilly regions of our country. Elephant Ear is a small tree, 1 - 9m tall, with a slender trunk. The leaves are opposite, elliptical, tapering at both ends, 8 - 20cm long, 2 - 7.5cm wide, green. Flowers form clusters on many branches at the end of the stem, small white flowers with hairy throats, and a red calyx on the fruit. This plant has a bitter taste, cool properties, and is very effective in cooling, detoxifying, and anti-inflammatory. In traditional medicine, it is often used to treat colds, heatstroke, sore throat, fever, dysentery, tooth decay, wound healing, and very effective in treating vaginal infections.
Implementation:
- Take a handful of elephant ear leaves, wash them thoroughly, put them in a pot, add a pinch of salt.
- When the sap of this plant comes out completely, use this water to steam the intimate area, and when the water is still warm, use it for external hygiene.
- Use for 5 consecutive days, and the vaginal infection will no longer bother you.


6. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar is distilled from fresh apples and is a weight loss method passed down from ancient times in folk traditions in Western countries. Apple cider vinegar is beneficial for health due to its 4-8% acetic acid content. Acetic acid is a weak acid with the chemical formula CH3COOH. The strength of an acid is assessed based on its ability or tendency to lose a proton (H+)—a weak acid only partially loses H+ when reacting with other substances. Most of the remaining part of apple cider vinegar is water. When your intimate area has an unusual foul odor, it indicates that your vagina is invaded by bacteria or fungus. Infections cause discomfort and inconvenience, and in such cases, you can use apple cider vinegar to eliminate odor, kill fungi, and bacteria causing inflammation. Apple cider vinegar is rich in acid, helping to balance the PH inside the vagina and effectively remove agents causing fungal infections and unpleasant odors.
Implementation
- You just need a cup of apple cider vinegar poured into the bathwater, and when you immerse yourself in the water, the antibacterial properties in apple cider vinegar will help you.
- If you don't soak in the tub, you can shower as usual and use apple cider vinegar for external hygiene, remember to wash only the outside and avoid deep internal cleaning to prevent risks.


7. Green Tea Leaves
Green tea is a familiar beverage for everyone. Green tea has a cooling effect. In addition, according to traditional Chinese medicine, green tea helps digestion, diuresis, soothes the mind, has antibacterial properties, promotes quick wound healing, and supports the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines and colon. When dealing with abnormal discharge and vaginal itching causing inconvenience and discomfort for women, green tea has been used since ancient times as an effective antibacterial remedy. Numerous studies have shown that green tea can stimulate the growth of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria, beneficial bacteria in the gut and colon. It also disrupts the spread of harmful bacteria such as Salmonella and Clostridium. Green tea contains epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), which weakens Candida fungus—the cause of vaginal inflammation in women.
Implementation
- Every day, take about 200g of fresh green tea leaves, wash them thoroughly, crush them, boil them with boiling water for about 15 minutes, then strain the water for intimate hygiene.
- Women apply washing with green tea leaves twice a day, morning and evening, within a week, and those with mild vaginal inflammation will completely recover, while those with more severe cases will experience gradual improvement.


8. Roots or Spinach Plant
Recent studies have shown that spinach has the ability to enhance radiation discharge and detoxify the body due to its high sterol and non-greasy fatty acid content. Both the roots and leaves of spinach contain excellent antibacterial components for treating inflammation effectively. The compounds in spinach contribute to wound healing. According to traditional wisdom, crushing spinach leaves and consuming them with water or applying the pulp can treat snakebites. Equal doses of purple spinach and pumpkin roots, brewed and ingested, can remedy bleeding caused by miscarriage. Additionally, spinach roots or plants are effective in treating vaginal inflammation.
- Simply grind spinach roots or stems and mix them with water for consumption.
- Drinking this mixture in the morning and evening proves beneficial in healing vaginal inflammation.


9. Corn
Corn is a common food grown and consumed almost everywhere in the world. This green vegetable is low in calories, rich in nutrients, and antioxidants, beneficial for your overall health. You can reap many benefits from corn when cooked, and you can even drink raw corn water. The effects of corn include promoting strong bones, preventing anemia, and supporting digestion. Adding corn to your meals or drinking corn water will help your body produce more red blood cells. This can help treat and prevent anemia. Corn is a familiar fruit for housewives, but few know that it also has the ability to effectively treat vaginal inflammation. Corn contains many beneficial bacteria such as probiotics that can resist invasion, repel harmful bacteria, and boost the body's immunity.
- Women with inflammation just need to take a handful of finely chopped corn, put it in a pot, add two cups of drinking water, boil it until the mixture thickens, then strain and drink daily. If it's difficult to drink, you can add a little sugar.
- Persistence in this method can effectively prevent vaginal inflammation for women.


10. Mugwort
Mugwort plant has an essential oil content ranging from 0.20 - 0.34%, with the main components being monoterpenes, dehydromatricaria ester, tetradecatrilin, tricosanol, aracholalcol, and sesquiterpenes. The mugwort plant has many functions such as calming, promoting bile, having antibacterial properties, and stopping bleeding. According to folk experience, consuming mugwort is effective in treating irregular menstruation, urinating blood, preventing bloating, relieving abdominal pain, treating diarrhea, and relieving constipation. Mugwort is a useful medicinal plant used in many remedies and is considered a very effective remedy for vaginal inflammation in women. The substances in mugwort have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties, and effectively dry wounds.
- Use a handful of dried mugwort, boil it thoroughly with a little water.
- Use this mixture to steam-clean the intimate area effectively, and when it cools, use it to clean the intimate area.
- Do this twice a day, continuously for a week to effectively treat inflammation.
