3. Izumi Curtis
Izumi is renowned not only as an exceptional alchemist but also as a strong and determined woman. She underwent a rigorous survival training on the Briggs mountain range, and the military under Olivier still whispers about a demon woman in the snowstorm. Izumi once attempted a human transmutation to save her dying child, but failed and lost her womb in the process. She took in Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric as her apprentices, passing on her iconic alchemical prowess to the two brothers.
4. Lust
Introducing the sole antagonist in the lineup: Lust – an artificial being aptly named for her 'Lustful' nature. Lust presents herself as a seductive figure with flowing black hair and an alluring, ample bosom. Her existence relies on a Philosopher's Stone embedded in her heart, granting her the ability to regenerate multiple times (Roy had to incinerate Lust several times before finally defeating her). Lust can extend her fingernails to eliminate adversaries at medium range.
5. Winry Rockbell
Winry, the childhood friend of the Elric brothers turned skilled automail mechanic, is a symbol of strength and violence wrapped in the appearance of a resilient young woman. Her parents fell victim to Scar, the Ishvalan assassin, during the Ishvalan Civil War, but Winry eventually forgave him, believing her parents would have wished for it. Winry serves as a serene harbor for the Elric brothers, providing them with a sense of safety and tranquility in their tumultuous journey.
6. Mei Chang
Mei Chang, fundamentally a princess from a tribe aspiring to the throne of Xing, arrives in Amestris with the same goal as Ling Yao. Despite appearing as a petite and agile child, she carries the small panda named Xiao Mei on her shoulder. Mei is the exclusive user of Alkahestry in the series, drawing transmutation circles with star shapes and five throwing needles at the corners. Throughout her epic journey, she unwittingly becomes part of Scar's group, initially unaware of her role as an antagonist character.
7. Lan Fan
She is an assassin accompanying Prince Ling Yao of Xing to Amestris in search of the secret to immortality. Despite her youth, Lan Fan's protective instincts for her master make her cautious and ready to resort to subterfuge in the face of any danger. In a fierce battle, she sacrificed an arm to misdirect the enemy and later received an automail replacement.
8. Mrs. Bradley
Similar to Trisha Elric, Mrs. Bradley doesn't have many standout scenes in the series but leaves a lasting impression. She is the wife of President King Bradley, prominently featured in Roy Mustang's political upheaval. Engulfed in various political factions, she remains, above all, a family woman, wholeheartedly loving her husband and son. Towards the end, she adopts Selim Bradley, unaware that he is an artificial being who deceived her throughout the tumultuous times.
9. Trisha Elric
Trisha Elric, the mother of the Elric brothers, was a family-oriented woman who tragically passed away at a young age. Single-handedly raising her two sons while her husband, Van Hohenheim, pursued the alchemical calling, Trisha may not have had a large role, but she became a significant symbol in the series. Her memory motivated the determined journey of the two siblings, seeking the path of human transmutation 'just to see their mother's smile once more.'
10. Maria Ross
Lieutenant Maria Ross, a supporting character in the series, emerges as a protector for the Elric brothers during their operations and treatment at the Center. Wrongly accused of the murder of Major Maes Hughes, she was later exonerated and escaped in a scheme orchestrated by Roy, ultimately returning in the coup with a frontline military role.
