1. Bukku Café
Bukku Café, established in 2017, specializes in serving fresh, wholesome dishes crafted by a highly trained staff focused on quality service, all at very reasonable prices. The café’s most famous dish is the salted egg croissant, a unique twist on the classic croissant. This creation features a delicately thin pastry shell filled with premium salted egg sauce. What makes this dish stand out is the sugar-coated crust, which is often seen on Polo Buns, making it an excellent pairing with the croissant. This combination has made Bukku Café a standout in the local culinary scene.
Khai Chee, the co-founder of Bukku Café along with her husband Terrence Siew, explains the café's concept as 'The blend of coffee and books is the perfect therapy for the soul.' The front of the café is designed with a minimalist, cool, monochromatic aesthetic, providing a striking contrast to the warm, cozy interior furnished with pinewood pieces. Bukku Café offers a relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to curl up with a hot chocolate on rainy days, serving as the perfect quiet retreat for book lovers.

2. Frisky Goat
Frisky Goat feels like stepping into a cozy little house. From the moment you stand outside, you’re greeted by a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Upon entering through the Mediterranean blue door, this feeling intensifies. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend hours — enjoy free Wi-Fi, share a freshly baked pastry with a friend, have a lazy Sunday breakfast with eggs, or simply watch the goldfish in the outdoor seating area.
Frisky Goat opened its doors in February 2014, founded by three young women with backgrounds in banking, oil & gas, and real estate. United by their passion for food, they wanted to create a café in the neighborhood that offered a laid-back, friendly ambiance. The name is inspired by a legend from Ethiopia, where goats became energetic after eating coffee cherries from a bush that later became the coffee plant. This legend marked the start of coffee history and also the origin of the café’s name.
This café offers a variety of freshly baked goods, including French bread, pastries, croissants, and pain au chocolat. A glass display case showcases these delicious treats, all made in-house, served in generous portions, and priced very reasonably. Described as a modern European-style café, the décor of Frisky Goat includes wooden tables, metal chairs, brick walls, and some humorous posters. The design transports you to a lively European street where young people and older generations enjoy pastries together, and families gather for early dinners. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel at home and want to stay for hours.

3. Le Petit Dotty’s
Step into Le Petit Dotty’s and you’ll be greeted with charming and playful décor. The café’s emblem, crafted from stunning brass, is beautifully etched onto the marble table, surrounded by royal blue shelves. Modern Spanish tiles embellish one of the walls, and a mint green leather sofa adds a striking pop of color. For those sitting outdoors, lush greenery is carefully placed, and the overall design makes Dotty’s a serene oasis in the city.
Dotty is known for its Salted Egg Yolk Croissant, available daily at noon and selling out fast. A perfect blend of croissant and donut, the cronut has a soft inside like a donut and a crisp outer layer like a croissant. If you’ve never tried this delightful hybrid, you’re missing out. The salted egg yolk mixture is smooth and velvety, with a delicate balance of sweet and salty. Another fan favorite is the Salted Egg Yolk Cruffin, a more accessible version of the cronut, and lighter in sweetness. Even though it's baked over charcoal, it has no heavy smokey flavor but is instead complemented perfectly with the salted egg yolk mixture.
If you're craving something sweeter, the Speculoos Croissant is a must-try. Speculoos, a spiced biscuit from the Netherlands, is turned into a sweet paste and folded inside the croissant, offering a unique flavor that’s both rich and spicy. You could also enjoy the giant Salted Caramel Donut, generously coated in salted caramel syrup, or the mouthwatering Salted Egg Yolk Éclair filled with creamy custard and topped with Dotty’s signature cream. Le Petit Dotty’s is now serving De Gayo coffee, a beautiful, smooth Arabica coffee from Indonesia.
