1. Don’t Stick to the Same Skincare Products Forever
There are countless cosmetic brands on the market today, each offering thousands of products with different functions. If you've found a skincare product that works well for you, consider yourself lucky. Many people, once they find a product that works, feel like they should never change it. However, while there's nothing wrong with sticking to the same skincare products, it's important to remember that after using the same products for a while, your skin will adapt, and the effectiveness of the products may begin to decline or disappear altogether.
Furthermore, your skin’s condition doesn’t stay the same — it changes with the seasons, as you age, and due to environmental factors. Therefore, it's important to switch up your skincare products in a way that aligns with your skin's current needs and condition.

2. The More Products, The Better Your Skin
If you're a fan of Korean skincare, you're probably familiar with the famous 10-step routine, which involves using numerous products. However, despite following this regimen exactly, some people experience problems like excess oil, clogged pores, or even severe skin irritation.
This happens because the climate in Korea and Vietnam are vastly different. In Korea’s cold weather, skin tends to get dry and rough, so applying multiple hydrating products restores moisture and smoothness. On the other hand, in Vietnam's hot and humid climate, layering too many products can overwhelm the skin, causing it to feel suffocated, overly hydrated, and prone to breakouts. That's why it's important to understand your skin's needs and provide just the right amount of care.

3. Frequent Use of Face Masks
Recently, sheet masks have become a craze among beauty enthusiasts, as many try to emulate stars like Fan Bingbing, who reportedly uses two sheet masks a day for glowing, healthy skin.
However, using sheet masks too often can have serious consequences, such as:
- Removing the protective oil layer from your skin, leaving it more prone to irritation and damage (similar to excessive face washing).
- Over-hydrating the skin, clogging pores, and providing a breeding ground for hidden pimples.
- Making the skin more sensitive to sunlight.
- Particularly, sensitive skin may develop rashes.
Dermatologists recommend using moisturizing sheet masks 2-3 times a week and detoxifying masks once or twice a week.

4. If you're not wearing makeup, you don't need makeup remover
Many women believe that makeup removers are only necessary for those wearing heavy makeup, with the main purpose being to remove the makeup. Therefore, they think if they're not wearing makeup and only applying sunscreen, using makeup remover isn't needed.
However, makeup remover serves more than just taking off makeup; it also helps remove dirt, excess oil, and leftover sunscreen residue. For those with acne-prone skin, makeup removal is an essential step that should never be skipped.

5. If you take sunscreen pills, you don't need sunscreen lotion
In recent years, sunscreen pills have gained popularity as a potential substitute for sunscreen lotions, with the idea of reducing the daily application time and preventing the skin from feeling clogged or irritated by some sunscreen formulas.
However, leading dermatologists have confirmed that sunscreen pills can only help minimize the damage caused by sun exposure but cannot replace the need for sunscreen lotion. Even if you only take the pills, your skin will still be exposed to the sun. As a result, sunburn, darkening, or irritation is inevitable.
For the most effective protection, it's recommended to use both sunscreen lotion and sunscreen pills simultaneously, and avoid being outdoors during peak sun hours to minimize direct sun exposure.

6. Using skincare products means your diet doesn't matter
Relying solely on skincare products to improve your skin won't deliver the amazing results you're hoping for. These products only work on the surface and can't deeply penetrate the skin, so they can't provide long-lasting youthfulness and smoothness.
To truly achieve great skincare, you must focus on nourishing your body from the inside. If you want brighter, softer, and more youthful skin, avoid spicy foods, stimulants, alcohol, fried and oily foods, and junk food. Instead, make sure to eat plenty of green vegetables, fresh fruits, and drink lots of water.

7. Once you've applied sunscreen, you no longer need to avoid the sun
Many people believe that once they've applied sunscreen daily, they don't need to worry about sun exposure anymore. They think that once sunscreen is on, they can enjoy the sun without any additional protection.
However, this is a misconception because sunscreen only helps to reduce the immediate damage from the sun, such as tanning and sunburn. To fully protect your skin from direct sunlight, you need to wear protective clothing, gloves, a wide-brimmed hat, a face mask, and sunglasses.

8. Does drinking lots of water make your skin hydrated and plump?
There's no denying the vital role water plays for our body. Drinking sufficient water daily keeps your body healthy and supports smoother functioning of your organs.
Research shows that 80% of people experiencing skin issues (dryness, flaking, etc.) have been advised to drink plenty of water for healthier, more hydrated skin. If you've ever watched a skincare video from a celebrity, you've probably heard them mention the benefits of drinking water for better skin at least once. However, water isn't as magical as it's often made out to be. The truth is that even if you drink the recommended 2 liters of water or more daily, your skin won't necessarily become plump or fully hydrated; it will just appear more refreshed.
To combat dry, flaky skin, it's more effective to use moisturizing and hydrating skincare products.

9. The more you wash your face with face wash, the better it is.
We all know that one of the main causes of acne is improper cleansing, leading to clogged pores and the development of pimples. As a result, many people think that the more they wash their face and the stronger the cleanser, the better their skin will be.
Additionally, Vietnam's hot and humid climate causes the skin to produce more oil. Many people tend to wash their face whenever they notice oil buildup, hoping that their skin will feel clean and clear of acne.
If this sounds familiar to you, it's time to stop! The truth is that washing your face multiple times a day with strong cleansers might give you a temporary clean feeling, but it won't speed up acne healing. In fact, it can make your skin worse.
Frequent cleansing weakens the skin, making it drier and more sensitive. When the skin becomes too dry, the brain signals the sebaceous glands to produce more oil to restore moisture. So, washing your face too much not only doesn't make your skin cleaner but can actually cause more oil production and acne.
Therefore, you should limit washing your face to a maximum of twice a day with a gentle, hydrating cleanser that doesn't dry out your skin.

10. You don’t need sunscreen on cloudy days.
Applying sunscreen daily may seem like a simple task, but it’s actually not as easy as it sounds, especially for the lazy ones. So, when you wake up, look outside, and see a cloudy sky, many people think, “Great! The sun’s not out, no need for sunscreen today.” This is a common misconception.
However, the truth is that clouds only block about 20% of UV rays. The remaining 80% still penetrate through the clouds and can damage your skin. So, remember to apply sunscreen every day to protect your skin from sunburn, darkening, and the most serious risk—skin cancer.
