4. Kokushibo - Power Beyond Human Understanding
Kokushibo stands atop Muzan's demon hierarchy, surpassing countless others in strength and skill. Having survived for centuries, honing both technique and strategy, his power transcends human comprehension. Even the pillars tremble before his uncontrollable bloodlust.

The two mightiest pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps, Gyomei and Sanemi, fought with all their might against Kokushibo. Yet it was only through a stroke of luck and the sacrificial efforts of Hagiya and Genya that they managed to defeat him.
3. Tanjiro - The Sun Breather
Tanjiro's emergence heralded a significant turning point in the millennia-old battle between demons and humans in Kimetsu no Yaiba. Despite facing countless hardships, nobody foresaw this, not even Tanjiro himself. Initially, Muzan massacred Tanjiro's mother and siblings.

Tanjiro bears the weight of guilt and vows to find a way to restore Nezuko to humanity. His Water Breathing techniques are often employed in dire situations, but his most remarkable ability lies in reviving the Breath of the Sun - an ancient technique long thought lost.
1. Yoriichi Tsugikuni - Legendary swordsman that made Muzan tremble with fear
Yoriichi Tsugikuni rightfully earns the title of legendary swordsman, the mightiest in the centuries-long history of the Demon Slayer Corps. Unlike other swordsmen who may or may not possess the Demon Slayer Mark as they mature, Yoriichi bore the mark since birth. He even pioneered the Sun Breathing technique - the original breath.

Afterwards, Yoriichi merged the Sun Breathing with his own supreme swordsmanship techniques to create attacks that demons couldn't evade. Despite being a mere mortal, Yoriichi remains the haunting fear in every cell of Muzan even long after his passing for centuries.
2. Muzan Kibutsuji - Cunning demon with terrifying prowess
Though Yoriichi is formidable, he is still a human and subject to the cycle of life and death. Thus, Yoriichi cannot match Muzan - an immortal being who has lived for thousands of years. Muzan masters an array of skills and techniques, enough to counter and topple every pillar.

If that's not enough, Muzan can also control and manipulate lower-level demons with pinpoint accuracy at the molecular level. Hence, a 1:1 battle with Muzan is almost unthinkable, even for the strongest pillars.
