Lan Ha Bay is located on the eastern side of Cat Ba Island, overlooking Van Gate, adjacent to Ha Long Bay. Ngoc Temple is an architectural structure of moderate scale, with a nail-shaped layout. Ngoc Temple was built by the villagers of Ngoc Xuyen (formerly known as Ngoc Tuyen) to worship the village guardian deity, Lord Diem Tuoc. Ngoc Xuyen Temple was constructed from the late 17th to the early 18th century, dedicated to the Deity Diem Tuoc. The ancient temple had 9 roofs, made of chiseled wood, aromatic cinnamon, with tiled roofs, designed in the palace style. In 1929, the temple was rebuilt in the Ding-shaped architecture with 5 main chambers, 3 rear chambers according to the architectural art of the Nguyen dynasty. This is the only remaining ancient temple of the total Do Son area until today.
