1. Kia Soul EV
The Kia Soul EV stands out with several impressive features, making it one of the best electric cars in the world today. After its debut in the Chicago market, the Kia Soul EV quickly began expanding its global reach.
The vehicle is equipped with a standard SAE 240V charging port and a fast DC charging port located behind the front grille. The headlights and fog lights provide standard illumination while enhancing the vehicle’s style. All lighting on the Kia Soul EV consists of energy-efficient LED lights.
The Kia Soul EV is available in three two-tone combinations: a white body with a light blue roof, a dark blue body with a white roof, and a silver body with a white roof. It also comes with a set of 16-inch alloy wheels featuring a fresh design. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 10.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 145 km/h—an impressive feat for an electric vehicle. Full battery charging takes 24 hours with a 120V source and nearly 5 hours with a 240V source. However, using a fast charger, the battery can reach 80% charge in just 33 minutes.

2. Kia e-Niro
The Kia e-Niro is one of the best electric vehicles available today. Breaking away from traditional concerns about electric cars, the Kia e-Niro comes in two impressive specifications—Level 3 and Level 4—offering a remarkable driving range of 282 miles along with Kia’s 7-year warranty.
In fact, the e-Niro is so impressive that it won the Eco Award at the 2019 Car of the Year awards. While competitors like the Nissan Leaf, Volkswagen ID.3, and Hyundai Kona Electric may be more affordable, the e-Niro offers practicality, a solid standard feature list, and a reasonable price.
You can easily recognize the e-Niro over the standard Niro hybrid and Plug-in PHEV models thanks to its design tweaks, including blue accent lights near the daytime running lights and aerodynamic air vents. It also features stylish alloy wheels designed for better aerodynamics and a front grille filled with charging ports.
For many, the e-Niro could easily replace a traditional small family SUV with an internal combustion engine, offering almost no downsides for those with shorter daily commutes. Kia designed the Niro from the outset to accommodate an EV powertrain, meaning the e-Niro is a well-thought-out proposition. Its large battery sits under the vehicle’s floor, preserving boot space, and it offers excellent handling and comfort, making it one of the most enjoyable vehicles in its segment, regardless of its powertrain.

3. Tesla Model S
The Tesla Model S is a luxury sedan known for its sleek design, agility, and comfort, with top-tier safety ratings. For the 2016 model, the car offers three battery options: 70, 85, and 90 kWh, along with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (denoted by the 'D' version).
Moreover, the 85 and 90 kWh versions also offer a high-performance 'P' option with a larger rear electric motor. The standard rear-wheel drive Tesla Model S features a 362-horsepower motor, while the all-wheel drive 'D' version has smaller motors, each producing 259 horsepower. The 'P' performance package boosts the rear motor to 503 horsepower while keeping the front motor's power intact. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 3 seconds, rivaling the speed of a McLaren F1 supercar.
For a luxury sedan with five seats, this is an impressive performance figure. Thanks to Tesla's fast-charging DC network, Model S owners can charge their vehicles to 80% in just 20-30 minutes. Additionally, one variant of the Tesla Model S has exceeded a range of 300 miles (483 km).

4. Renault Zoe
The Renault Zoe is a compact electric vehicle with an impressive range, designed to compete with models like the Mini E and Peugeot e-208. Having been on the market for a while, the Zoe might appear simple and commonplace at first glance, much like an iPhone, but it’s packed with cutting-edge technology.
The current version includes several design tweaks, such as additional air intakes that guide airflow through the front wheels to reduce drag and improve range, along with full-LED headlights. Renault has also updated the brake lights, switching to LED technology and eliminating the blue-tinted lens from older models. Inside, the Zoe features an ultra-smooth dashboard layout, a premium infotainment system, and a standard digital driver display.
The R135 motor in the Renault Zoe ZE50, introduced in September 2019, allows the car to charge in just three hours when using a 22 kW DC fast charger, providing a WLTP range of 245 miles on a full charge. However, using a standard three-pin connection will require 23 hours for a complete charge.

5. Ford Mustang Mach-E
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is an all-electric SUV with a distinctive coupe style, produced by the American automaker. In terms of exterior design, the Mach-E bears a resemblance to the latest generation Ford Puma but is larger in size.
From the coupe-style roofline to the sleek body contours, the Mach-E recalls the B-segment crossover Ford launched earlier this year. However, compared to the Puma, the Mustang Mach-E is more streamlined, with flush door handles integrated into the body. It features angular quad headlights, LED rear lights with a three-stripe design, and the iconic Mustang horse logo. To emphasize the modern look, Ford has designed narrower, elongated LED headlights, with distinct sections for high and low beams separated by LED strips.
As an electric vehicle, the Mach-E no longer has a traditional grille for cooling an engine. Notably, it also does not feature conventional door handles. Instead, the doors are opened via buttons embedded in the door frame.
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is available in five versions: Select, California Rt.1, Premium, First Edition, and GT Performance. The base Select model is equipped with a 255-horsepower electric motor producing 415 Nm of torque, paired with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (AWD), which generates 582 Nm of torque. The Select RWD version offers a range of up to 230 miles (370 km) per charge, while the AWD version provides a range of 210 miles (338 km). The Mach-E can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 6 seconds with rear-wheel drive and about 5 seconds with all-wheel drive.
