Founded on August 24, 1999, to meet the educational needs of local children and those from neighboring districts, Khuc Thua Du High School was established by the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee on an initial area of nearly 2000m². At the beginning, the school had only three basic classrooms for 220 10th-grade students, and the administrative office was temporarily housed at the local health station in Tan Huong commune.

Gia Loc High School was founded in 1961 under the original name of Gia Loc Secondary and High School, located in Nghia Hung Commune, Gia Loc District, Hai Duong Province. Initially, the school had just three 8th-grade classes with a total of 159 students. In February 1973, the school moved to Gia Loc Town to improve its services to students. In 1995, it officially adopted the name Gia Loc High School to mark its 60 years of operation.
