7. Grand Jury Prize – Sundance Film Festival
Sundance Film Festival is held annually in Utah by the Sundance Institute. It is the largest independent film festival in the United States and serves as the primary showcase for independent filmmakers to introduce their work. The competition section of the festival is dedicated to documentary and dramatic films, with the most prestigious award being the Grand Jury Prize for both categories.
The festival began in 1978 when Sterling Van Wagenen, president of Robert Redford's Wildwood company, initiated the festival to attract more filmmakers to Utah.
