1. National Defense Academy
National Defense Academy is under the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam, serving as the training institution for high-ranking generals, senior officers, and leading military science and arts officers of the People's Army of Vietnam. It provides national defense education for senior cadres of the Party, State, and organizations. Most of the top generals of the People's Army of Vietnam have graduated from this academy. The academy was established on February 21, 1976, by Decision No. 38/QP of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam. Since 1994, it has been under the direct management of the Government and assigned to the Ministry of National Defense for direct management.
On July 18, 2003, Chief of the General Staff Phung Quang Thanh signed a Decision on the organization structure of the National Defense Academy. The organizational structure includes the Board of Directors, 9 subordinate units, 10 faculties, and 4 management systems. The academy is responsible for training high-level commanding officers, senior advisors, campaign and strategic military officers, local military officers, teaching staff, military science researchers, postgraduate education, and military science research scholars. It also provides national defense education for key provincial leaders and equivalent positions, as well as leaders of Party, State, and central organizations. Additionally, it conducts military science and military art research, international cooperation in training and education for high-ranking military officers.

2. Military Technical Academy
Military Technical Academy, also known as Le Quy Don Technical University, is a national key university under the direct leadership of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and the professional guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training. The academy's mission is to train technical officers, technical staff, and command advisors with bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees for the military. Additionally, the academy conducts scientific research on military science and technology, combining research with technology application, technology transfer, and production for combat readiness and military operations.
Military Technical Academy is a research university organized according to the model of a comprehensive technical university, both educating and researching the application of achievements in modern science and technology to the design, manufacture, production, and utilization of military weapons, equipment, and technical means, as well as serving the country's industrialization and modernization. The faculty comprises over 1300 staff, including more than 900 lecturers, nearly 100 of whom are professors or associate professors, nearly 500 staff hold Doctor of Science degrees, and about 50 educators have been awarded the titles of People's Teacher and Excellent Teacher.

3. Political Academy
Political Academy under the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam is a mid-level military academy, serving as a center for training mid-level political officers, divisional staff, tactical officers, and campaigners. Additionally, the academy is responsible for providing national defense and security knowledge training for departmental and agency-level officials of the Central Government. The organizational structure of the Political Academy includes: the Board of Directors, 7 departments, 3 offices, 1 Military Political Theory Education Journal, 1 Military Social Sciences and Humanities Institute, 14 faculty departments, and 7 student systems. The faculty and educational management staff of the academy are well-trained, experienced in teaching and scientific research, with many instructors having combat, management, and command experience, capable of organizing teaching and educational management activities according to training objectives and requirements. Currently, 100% of lecturers and educational management staff have university and postgraduate qualifications, including 52 professors and associate professors, 114 doctors, and 187 masters, meeting the requirements and tasks of education and training, basic research, applied social sciences and humanities research in the military field, solving theoretical and practical issues to serve the country's industrialization and modernization.
Political Academy has the mission of training mid-level Party committees, combined arms divisions. Training mid-level Party committees, combined arms divisions of the Air Defense - Air Force, Navy, Border Defense Force, Coast Guard. Training Social Sciences & Humanities lecturers at the battalion level. Short-term training for mid-level political officers at the battalion level. 4. Logistics Academy
CallLogistics Academy established on June 15, 1951, is a military academy under the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam, tasked with training officers and personnel in logistics for the Vietnam People's Army. On February 7, 1993, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a decision recognizing the military university training level for the Logistics Academy. After 70 years of construction and development, the Logistics Academy has become a prestigious education, training, and scientific research center in logistics and finance for the military and the country. The academy has trained tens of thousands of logistics and financial officers and staff for the military, thousands of logistics and financial officers for the Lao People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, hundreds of PhDs, masters in military logistics, finance, thousands of civilian bachelors and engineers, hundreds of masters, doctors in finance, banking.
These achievements have contributed significantly to the national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland, building the military, consolidating national defense, providing high-quality human resources for the country's industrialization, modernization, fulfilling international missions, enhancing the solidarity and friendship among the three Indochinese countries. 5. Military Medical Academy
CallMilitary Medical Academy formerly known as Le Huu Trac University of Medicine, is a key national university of Vietnam under the Ministry of National Defense. It is a research university that trains doctors, pharmacists, and nurses for the Vietnam People's Army, supports the training of doctors for the Vietnamese People's Public Security, and provides doctors and pharmacists for the armies and police forces of Laos and Cambodia under cooperation agreements. Currently, the university only admits undergraduate students in the military medical field, no longer enrolling undergraduates in civilian disciplines. The university was established on March 10, 1949, during the early years of the resistance war against the French. Combining fighting with teaching and learning, the faculty and students of the university overcame all sacrifices and hardships to train over 400 doctors who participated in protecting the health of the military, treating wounded soldiers in campaigns such as Border, Northwest, Dien Bien Phu, contributing to the nation's common victory in the resistance war against the French.
Responding to the requirements of the Military Medical branch, meeting the goal of building a revolutionary, regular, and elite army, on December 16, 1981, based on the Military Medical University, the Ministry of National Defense decided to establish the Military Medical Academy. Until now, the Academy has made significant strides in organizational structure and the quality of its staff. The Military Medical Academy currently has 10 affiliated departments, 2 practical hospitals (103 Hospital and National Institute of Burns), 1 Intermediate School of Medicine, 4 student management systems, 7 centers, and nearly 100 Departments - Faculties. Over 90% of the academy's staff and lecturers have postgraduate qualifications, including 156 PhDs, 5 Teachers awarded the title of People's Teacher, 6 Doctors awarded the title of People's Doctor, 29 Teachers awarded the title of Excellent Teacher, 100 Doctors awarded the title of Excellent Doctor, 36 officers engaged in teaching and scientific research awarded the title of Professor, and 102 officers awarded the title of Associate Professor. Currently, the academy focuses on three main tasks: Training, Scientific Research, and Treatment.

6. Nguyen Hue University
Nguyen Hue University or the 2nd Military Officer University under the Ministry of National Defense is a center for training infantry commanders at the platoon level (platoon, company, battalion) in the Southern region of Vietnam, established on August 27, 1961. Starting from 1998, the university was tasked by the Government to train military university-level personnel. The majors for university and college-level military training include: Combined Arms, Infantry Reconnaissance, Special Reconnaissance. After the complete liberation of the South, the university took over the administration of Thu Dau Mot town, Ben Cat district, Binh Duong province, continuing its training mission. On October 10, 1975, the Ministry of National Defense decided to establish the 2nd Military Officer University based on the H28 Combined Arms School, under the Ministry of National Defense, stationed in Hoa Hiep commune, Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province. In December 1975, the university relocated to Nước Trong base, Tam Phước commune, Long Thành district, Đồng Nai province, continuing its mission to train infantry commanders at the platoon level for the military.
On October 28, 2010, the Prime Minister issued a Decision to establish Nguyen Hue University based on upgrading the 2nd Military Officer University. From here, the University has two different names: The 2nd Military Officer University is used within the military, Nguyen Hue University is used for civilian transactions and international transactions. Over 55 years of construction, fighting, and maturation, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, directly the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, with the support and assistance of the Party, government, and people at all levels, along with friendly units, with the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, dynamism, creativity, determination to fight, and win of generations of cadres, lecturers, students, staff, non-commissioned officers - soldiers of the entire university, the University has continuously strived to overcome all difficulties and hardships to excellently fulfill every task assigned by the Party, State, and the military. The achievements that the University has achieved in over half a century have contributed significantly to the glorious victory of the national liberation struggle, the unity of the country, and the firm construction and defense of the socialist Vietnamese homeland.

7. Tran Quoc Tuan University
Tran Quoc Tuan University or the 1st Military Officer University established on April 15, 1945, is a training center for basic infantry commanders in northern Vietnam, under the Ministry of National Defense, is the first university in the military school system to train tactical infantry commanders at the platoon level (platoon, company, battalion) with a bachelor's degree in military science (university and college) in majors: infantry, mechanized infantry, infantry reconnaissance. The university was recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam for university education and allowed to train military bachelor's degree in 1998. The university is considered the “elder brother” in the system of military schools training platoon-level commanders, visited by Uncle Ho 9 times, awarded six golden words: “Loyal to the country, dutiful to the people” later became the slogan of the entire army. Many generations of outstanding generals and leaders of the military are alumni and officers of the University.
Over nearly 80 years of construction, fighting, and maturation, Tran Quoc Tuan University has trained 85 courses, of which 81 courses have graduated with over 10 thousand officers, the quality of training is continuously improved. Graduates all perform well in their duties, responsibilities, and effectively promote their qualities and capacities in command, training, military management, timely meet the officer command needs for units. Many comrades have dedicated their lives to the homeland, over 300 comrades have become generals, senior officers, holding important positions in the Party, State, and military agencies, 36 comrades have been awarded the titles of “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” and “Labor Hero”, many comrades have become famous scientists, artists, excellent teachers, national and international athletes, tens of thousands of officers, teachers trained by the University have become the backbone force in building academies, schools throughout the military, more than 34 thousand students of academies, officer schools in the northern region have studied, trained at the University, tens of thousands of students have been trained in military knowledge, meeting the requirements, tasks of national defense education by the Party.

8. Military Science Academy
Military Science Academy established in 1957, is a military academy under the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam specializing in training officers in fields such as intelligence, foreign languages, military diplomacy, and technical reconnaissance. In addition to training military officers in foreign languages, the academy also trains civilian graduates in foreign languages to serve the entire population within the education system issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. The Military Science Academy is organized and operates under the direct leadership and management of the Ministry of National Defense and is subject to state management in education and training by the Ministry of Education and Training. The academy's mission includes training bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Military Science, military language bachelors in various fields such as English, Chinese, Russian, French, master's degrees in English language, Chinese language, bachelor's degrees in International Relations in Defense, Vietnamese Studies, civilian foreign language bachelors, military knowledge enhancement, and national defense.
Military Science Academy collaborates with Political Academy to provide short-term political officer training at the battalion level, collaborates with National Defense Academy to train senior staff officers, provides language training for academies, and schools across the military, organizes examinations and grants B1, B2 level English certificates according to the European reference framework for postgraduate training institutions inside and outside the military. It also trains foreign military students from 22 countries under agreements and equal relations between the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and defense ministries of countries in the region and worldwide. 9. Naval Academy
CallNaval Academy (NA) is a military academy under the Naval branch of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam specializing in training naval officers & coast guard captains at the platoon level and naval staff officers & coast guard captains at the tactical-campaign level - after completing military undergraduate studies. Naval Academy was established on April 26, 1955. The academy has trained nearly ten thousand naval officers of all ranks, thousands of short-term officers, trained hundreds of foreign naval officers, trained dozens of naval science master's degrees, many of whom have become generals, senior officers within and outside the military.
In terms of scale and training branches: Starting from December 20, 1995, Naval Academy was permitted by the government to conduct undergraduate education. Undergraduate majors include ship control, Naval weapon technical branches (7 branches), Marine propulsion, Maritime electronic communication, Electronic observation (Radar + Sonar), Coast Guard ship command, Border Defense. Postgraduate training includes tactical-campaign staff command, Tactical-campaign technical command. 10. Border Guard Academy
CallBorder Guard Academy under the Border Guard Command, People's Army of Vietnam is a military university training officers and staff of Border Guard specialties in Vietnam. Border Guard Academy was established on June 20, 1963. With a history of over half a century of striving, building, and maturing, Border Guard Academy has developed from its infancy with makeshift facilities, a handful of officers, and teachers to the present with splendid infrastructure, a large and high-quality team of officers, lecturers, most of whom have university and postgraduate qualifications, including over 220 Masters, 47 Doctors, 01 Professor, 20 Associate Professors. Hundreds of officers are pursuing postgraduate and doctoral studies at military academies and universities inside and outside the military, with 17 officers awarded the titles of People's Teacher, Outstanding Teacher, and over 400 officers awarded Medals and Commemorative Medals 'For the Cause of Education and Training' by the Ministry of Education and Training.
