1. Poem: Which Wind?
WHICH WIND?
Poetry by Hồ Viết Bình
Which wind passes through the window frame?
Her hair, let loose, gracefully flies
In the garden, white daisies are in full bloom
The chilly breeze makes yellow leaves dance on the street.
The embroidered scarf still wraps around her neck
Fragrant with the intoxicating smell of milk flowers
Shoulder to shoulder, hands holding tightly
Warm breath exchanged, eagerly awaiting the arrival of winter.
Enduring the days of separation
She, weary, awaits the distant bird
The brisk wind brings autumn back home
The day we meet again, toasting with warmth.
Golden clouds, drift away slowly
Let someone's heart gnaw at memories
Thạch thảo flowers bloom purple at the end of the season
Gently blowing, autumn is here again.

2. Poem: Falling Moon
FALLING MOON
Poetry by Hồ Viết Bình
On the full moon night, gazing at the moonlight
Searching for the Cowherd, wondering where he rests
Wishing to become a flying bird
Soaring into the azure sky, playing with the Cowherd.
Sister Moon descends into the vast sea
Wishing to become a silver fish, swimming with her
On the full moon night, admiring the golden moonlight
At the age of sixteen, dreaming of distant realms.
Scooping moonlight with a ladle
Joining Sister Moon to pluck the stars
On the full moon night, the high-flying sky
Oh look, Cowherd falls into my eyes.

3. Poem: Tempest in Mother's Heart
TEMPEST IN MOTHER'S HEART
Poetry by Hồ Viết Bình
Children, hold on tight
Against the gusts and slanting rain
Beside you, there's a kind mother
Her arms shelter you, calming your hearts.
The wind tilts, twists, and pounds
The rain dances, floods all around
Mother runs while keeping an eye
Father, at sea, couldn't return in time.
Before, Father came home early
This storm changed direction too fast
Father's boat had to circle and roam
Seeking a safe haven, can he find it?
Do you know the storm in mother's heart?
The wind outside can't compare
She embraces you, watching for news of your father
Despite the fierce storm, mother never loses hope!
Do you see the pink clouds approaching?
That fleet of boats with fluttering flags
Your father pauses under the shelter
Tomorrow, setting sail, chasing the open sea.

4. Poem: Date with You in July
DATE WITH YOU IN JULY
By Hồ Viết Bình
I await you in the July sun's embrace
Come, let's meet, I have words to say
Last July, I hurriedly departed
Separated without expressing love.
Years living on this spendthrift island
Nights gazing at the sky, I see Taurus waiting
A flock of small birds brings a bridge of reed
Meeting Virgo, tears fall once again.
I silently implore the small birds
Northward, bring me a bridge across the vast sea
To be with you on the calm July eve
I return, and where are you off to?
Only able to meet during the July suns
Come, where are you going?
Then, we'll get through the lonely days
Come, hear my softly spoken words of love.

5. Poem: Season of Milk Flowers
SEASON OF MILK FLOWERS
By Hồ Viết Bình
Autumn has arrived, do you know?
The fragrance of milk flowers fills the air
I still remember that autumn day
I held your hand, your blush so fair.
Several autumns have passed, do you recall?
Since that day, you became a wife
Impossible to forget those small hands
Grasping mine, warmth and love rife.
Milk flowers in bloom, can you perceive?
Fragrance so intense, through the crowded street
Evoking memories of that pure love
The figure of the past, deeply discreet.

6. Poem: Lotus Stretching Over the Lake
LOTUS STRETCHING OVER THE LAKE
By Hồ Viết Bình
Ask the lotus, the one in the pond
Have you ever sensed the muddy scent?
The lotus laughs: under sun, rain, and squall
Its muddy body always stands tall.
Exquisite essence from the marshy ground
Gifting life beautiful blooms around
Sacred convergence of earth and sky
Its fragrance brings tranquility, oh my!
Despite storms that may rant and rave
The lotus still stands tall, facing the wave
Even as the waves crash against the shore
The lotus fragrance whispers love forevermore.

7. Poem: Mistakenly, Autumn Arrives
MISTAKENLY, AUTUMN ARRIVES
By Hồ Viết Bình
Do you see how autumn gently unfolds?
The scent of village rice cakes, a tale to be told
Wandering clouds lost in a daydream so bold
I'm captivated, watching her through the window.
Egrets and storks gather, heading back home
Hair now touched by dew, reminiscing the summer's comb.
Under the familiar yet strange fragrance of trees
Perhaps the scent of plum blossoms, who knows?
Look, white clouds squeeze through the branches
Like your silk dress, filled with tender longing.

10. Poem: Dream
DREAM
Poetry by Ho Viet Binh
Every night I still dream
A mother's hand, a father's shoulder
Wake up with faded tears
I no longer have a mother, lost my father long ago.
But parents are truly amazing
How not to let mother's life be painful
Even with porridge and vegetables
Must not let father's heart decay.
People are our support
When facing the storms of life.

11. Poem: Rediscovering Childhood
REDISCOVERING CHILDHOOD
By Ho Viet Binh
He returns to reclaim his childhood
Lingering on the banks of the Lam River
Evening breeze whispers through the reeds
Corn stalks sizzling, strawberry fields endless.
Searching for you, where could you be?
The boat turns its head, navigating through
Your shadow lost beyond the village
Fishing nets stretching, his lips sigh.
He returns, clutching onto the Green River's flow
O river, don't flow away, preserve the age of innocence.

12. Poem: The Compensation Kiss
THE COMPENSATION KISS
By Ho Viet Binh
Celebrating the day of love
Kiss a lot, my dear
Compensating for the youthful days
I am on a distant battlefield.
Long time no return home
To give you a kiss
Thought we were apart forever
Farewell and parting.
Night after night, missing the one who left
You hug a lonely pillow
My young life is not regretful
Just pitying you being alone.
Now near yet far from the land and sky
Oh dear! A compensating kiss
You cheerfully shout
Showcasing teeth to chew betel leaves.
