1. Xuân Hinh
Xuân Hinh is a versatile Vietnamese comedian who can sing chèo, quan họ, cải lương, chầu văn, and various other music genres. Besides, he is also referred to by the press and colleagues as the 'King of Chèo' in particular and the 'King of Northern Comedy' in general. However, he prefers to be called by the familiar name Xuân Hinh - the down-to-earth joker.
In 1977, while attending high school, Xuân Hinh was admitted to the Quan họ Bắc Ninh Folk Song Troupe. In 1983, he passed the entrance exam to the Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema, majoring in folk singing. Although he was offered a teaching position at the university, Xuân Hinh declined.
In 1988, Xuân Hinh performed the famous comedic act Cu Sứt at the Laughter Festival, performing for nearly 2 months at the Friendship Cultural Palace in Vietnam and the Soviet Union, receiving warm praise from the audience.
In 2017, after more than 40 years in the arts, Xuân Hinh submitted his retirement letter to the Hanoi Cheo Theater, marking his dedication at the age of 60.
With over 40 years of artistic activity, Xuân Hinh always hopes to bring the most meaningful moments of entertainment to life and to beloved audiences. For his contributions to the arts, he is the only Vietnamese person honored by the United States with an award for researching, collecting, preserving, experimenting, and developing the traditional culture and arts of Vietnam.


2. Tự Long
Together with Xuân Bắc, Tự Long is a very familiar name to audiences across the three regions of the country. Born in 1973 in Từ Sơn district, Bắc Ninh province, he is best known and beloved as a comedian in VTV programs such as Gặp nhau cuối tuần, Gặp nhau cuối năm, Ơn giời! cậu đây rồi… Tự Long originally a Cheo actor of the General Department of Rear Services. He started his comedy career with the role of the humorous doctor in the show Gặp nhau cuối tuần, and has been especially adored by the audience.
Throughout his artistic career, Tự Long has been the epitome of a hardworking and dedicated artist. In 2015, he was honored with the title People's Artist, and currently, he holds the position of Deputy Director of the Army Cheo Theater.


3. Xuân Bắc
Xuân Bắc is one of the famous comedians in the North, born in 1976. A renowned actor known for his role in the movie Sóng ở đáy sông, he became a popular comedian on shows like Gặp nhau cuối tuần on VTV3, Gặp nhau cuối năm on Vietnam Television, and the TV game show Đuổi hình bắt chữ on Hanoi Radio and Television, where he serves as the host.
He is a beloved host on the weekly show Ơn Giời, cậu đây rồi on VTV3. Apart from being an actor and a famous host, Xuân Bắc is also involved in various community activities. He has been honored with the title “Outstanding Youth of the Capital.”
On January 10, 2016, he was awarded the Excellent Artist prize.

4. Việt Hương
As one of the most beloved and successful comedians today, Việt Hương has toured with her colleague Hoài Tâm to various countries around the world: Germany, France, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United States, and more. She has also released nearly 20 of her own comedy DVDs, appearing in numerous plays and comedy TV shows.
Aside from being a comedian, Việt Hương has made a notable presence in movies with impressive roles in popular films like Nhà có 5 nàng tiên, Quý Tử Bất Đắc Dĩ, Đời Như Ý, Duyên Trần Thoát Tục, Cưới Chạy, Tía tui là cao thủ (2016), and various long-running TV series such as Dạ Khúc Nguyệt Cầm, Hai Người Cha, Yêu Thuê, Chàng Mập Nghĩa Tình, etc.

5. Vân Sơn
The next in line on this list is none other than comedian Vân Sơn (born in 1961), a renowned comedian in the overseas market. A multi-talented artist, he not only performs comedy but is also the founder and director of the entertainment company Vân Sơn Entertainment.
In the early days in the overseas arts scene, he was known as an entertainer in wedding parties, gatherings, and music cafes during weekends. In 1991, he teamed up with Bảo Liêm, becoming the most popular comedy duo in the Vietnamese community in California. In 1994, he established the Vân Sơn Center, both performing and training many singers and comedians who became famous in the Vietnamese arts community overseas.

6. Trấn Thành
One of the most versatile and famous artists today is comedian Trấn Thành (born in 1987). Despite being relatively young compared to other artists and entering the industry early, he started as an MC who quickly won the hearts of many fans with his special eloquence, intelligence, and wit.
Moreover, he is a well-known comedian, participating in comedy shows with big names like Hoài Linh, Chí Tài, Việt Hương. This multi-talented artist is also a film actor in movies such as Will You Dare to Love Me, Ghost Hospital, with the ability to impersonate various artists like Đàm Vĩnh Hưng, Lam Trường, Duy Mạnh, and dubbing for some films like Super Mischievous Squirrel 3, European Idol 3.

7. Trường Giang
Perhaps, a few years ago, the name Trường Giang (born in 1983) didn't make much of an impression on the audience, but in recent years, he has become a phenomenon in the Vietnamese comedy scene, becoming one of the most famous comedians in Vietnamese showbiz and gaining a massive fan following. By performing authentically, naturally, and with a down-to-earth rural charm, he embodies characters in a very genuine way, bringing laughter and a profound understanding of the characters to the audience. Perhaps, his authenticity and the talent of an artist have made him so famous and loved by many.
In addition to his work as a comedian, he is also an MC for several reality TV shows such as Surprise, Unity, or Hidden Singer, which are very popular and well-received. After a series of love scandals, Trường Giang now has a happy home with the beautiful actress Nhã Phương.

8. Công Lý
Talented artist Công Lý is best known for his comedic roles in the TV shows Gặp nhau cuối tuần and Gặp nhau cuối năm on VTV. He has often made the audience laugh to tears with his very skillful performances in the comedy sketches of the TV show Gặp nhau cuối tuần.

From the show Gặp nhau cuối tuần, he became familiar to audiences nationwide, laying the foundation for his career development in later comedy programs such as Gala Laughter or Gặp nhau cuối năm…
Most of his roles, big or small, leave a lasting impression on the audience, provoking constant laughter. Particularly memorable is his seemingly 'oversized' nose, creating the trademark 'Thắng mũi to' (Big-nose Thắng).

10. Chí Trung
Chí Trung, the son of People's Artist Quý Dương, didn't rely on his father's fame to become popular. He was admitted to study at the Youth Theater at the age of 17, marking a pivotal moment in his life.
Successful in drama, Outstanding Artist Chí Trung had notable roles like Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Đôn sứt in Lời thề thứ 9… but audiences seem to know him more for his comedic roles. He often portrayed Táo Giao thông for many years in the program Gặp nhau cuối năm. 11. Chiến Thắng
Chiến Thắng grew up in a modest family in Phúc Yên town, Vĩnh Phúc province. From a young age, Chiến Thắng had to work hard in life. He took on various jobs to support his family, such as selling ice cream on the streets, carrying bricks, doing stone paving, engraving tombstones, sculpting statues, painting… These are secrets from his life that few know.
It can be said that few comedians receive as much love from the audience right from their debut as Chiến Thắng. 12. Quang Tèo
Quang Tèo (born in 1962), real name Nguyễn Tiến Quang. He is a professional military officer graduated from the Military Culture and Arts College, holding the rank of Senior Colonel. Despite his military career, Quang Tèo is best known for his comedy. In the comedy genre, he, along with artist Lê Hồng Giang, formed the comedic duo Quang Tèo - Giang Còi, which has been a prominent duo in the Vietnamese comedy scene since the early 2000s until now.
In 2012, Quang Tèo was honored with the title of Meritorious Artist by the Vietnamese government. Since becoming a comedic pair, the highlight of the Quang Tèo - Giang Còi duo in the audience's hearts is their harmonious banter along with playful teasing, competition, and humorous battles between the two artists. This dynamic is always present in their sketches on Gặp nhau cuối tuần, Gala Cười of VFC, and in their comedy albums released for the Lunar New Year. 13. Vân Dung
When it comes to comedy, no one is unaware of Comedian Vân Dung. She lives and works mainly in the capital city of Hanoi. Vân Dung became widely known to Vietnamese audiences when she participated in the program 'Đời cười' at the Youth Theater, followed by Gặp nhau cuối năm (Táo Quân), Gặp nhau cuối tuần, and Gala cười on Vietnam Television.
Vân Dung was born into a family dedicated to the arts. Her mother is an actress, and her father is a director of the Northwest Folk Music and Dance Troupe (later both her parents moved to Military Region I). When she was young, Vân Dung lived with her parents in Thai Nguyen. At the age of 3-4, she enjoyed performing with her older sister Vân Trang, playing roles ranging from princesses to mischievous fairies.
As an actress trained in acting from a young age, Vân Dung believes that an actor must transform entirely, be diverse in each role, to avoid being stuck in a fixed character. Perhaps for this reason, the audience often sees our comedian Vân Dung undergo rapid transformations in roles or appearances on stage, from sharp and assertive characters to innocent and comedic roles. Known as one of the comedians from the Northern region, but with her efforts in the artistic field, the name Vân Dung is almost known by audiences nationwide.
