The plot revolves around Hyoudou Issei, a second-year high school student who is killed on his first date by a fallen angel but later resurrected by Rias Gremory, whom he agrees to join her group. Issei is the host of Ddraig (the Red Dragon Emperor), one of the creatures feared by all three worlds. He can wield the power of the dragon to fight and protect Gremory as well as those he cares about. Over time, Gremory and other female members in the group develop feelings for Issei.
