According to legend, during the reign of the 13th Hung King, while on a southern tour, the king discovered this picturesque coastal area. Struck by its untouched beauty, the king ordered a camp to be set up for rest. That night, the king heard the wind, waves, and pine trees creating a soothing melody, which he thought was the music of an immortal playing an instrument nearby. The king and his soldiers searched the area, climbing the highest mountain. From there, they saw the beach shaped like a traditional pipa instrument, and the king named the region “Thien Cầm,” meaning “Heavenly Harp.”
