Each year, the Mother Thu statue area attracts a large number of visitors from near and far. This site has become a new destination for travelers stopping by Quang Nam to honor the heroic Vietnamese mother, Mother Thu. Built on a cool, elevated mountain peak, the statue is beautifully designed, offering visitors the chance to capture unforgettable moments.
The Mother Thu Statue stands 18.5 meters tall and is made of sandstone, with a series of granite sculptures arranged in a 120-meter arc. In the center of the monument is a portrait of Mother Nguyen Thi Thu, carved in simple, humble lines, capturing the compassionate beauty and deep love that a mother has for her children.
On either side of the statue are natural stone walls, carefully arranged to form flowing, rhythmic patterns that resemble the rising and falling notes of a symphony. These musical movements symbolize the enduring hardships faced by the children and reflect the wide range of emotions—joy, sorrow, longing, and nostalgia—that people feel when they think of their distant mother. The craftsmanship of the carving creates a profound and moving atmosphere that leaves visitors in awe of the sacred Mother Thu Statue.
Surrounding the statue is a large pond of over 1000m2. Visitors standing outside will see streams of water flowing from within the statue, spilling over into the pond. The image of the Mother lovingly embracing her children carries a deep symbolic meaning of maternal love and devotion, representing the unwavering affection of a mother for her children, and for the brave soldiers who fought valiantly for the country during its years of struggle.
