A tree nurtures soil for the fruit's growth
Despite winds and rains, leaves wither, age
Having enjoyed, will it repay the wage
Or abandon, letting winds scatter its worth?

Seeing wilted banana dust at the lane head
Pains the heart, young child pities Father
In old days, lush greenery once spread
Suddenly withered, faded... flowers bloom no further.

Just after the cradle, Mother left forever
Several naive children leaving Father solitary
Empty flowers, occasionally thin, feeble
Chicks plump, squabble around the garden.

On summer days, noon, under the harsh sun's glare
Long nights, white with frost's embrace
Wandering all roads tirelessly
Father's heart brims with affection for naive children!

Mingling with dust, the child grows up
Suddenly realizing... Father's wrinkled skin
Those bananas also have aged
But the tree exhausted by ups and downs.

The naive child forever engraves images
Of summer heat, freezing cold winter nights
His sweat had flowed in streams
His skin darkened... and not for vanity!

Sincerely praying, Father remains healthy forever
So that every day the child may serve, care
Hoping Father remains like the full moon
Staying by children and grandchildren for many long years!

I have written many poems about Mother
Very few words from me mention Father's deeds
From the bottom of my heart, it seems so vast
Mount Thai Son* - a mountain - not tall enough to compare!

Since my youth, when I was still immature
Father gently advised me with wisdom
He set an example, never acting in vain
I understand his intention - Father never fretted!

Father dislikes people's covetousness
So he carefully guides my behavior, my actions
He despises greed the most
He respects and cherishes friendships.

Father always teaches about life's adversities
Stay steadfast to find ways to overcome
To surpass poverty in life
With a friend's help, any hurdle can be overcome.

Must be resilient - don't get caught up in gambling
Knowing oneself, then understanding others
Just be humble! Don't be swayed by flattery
Even if not victorious, don't lose heart!

...

Thank you, Father, for being the paving stone
As I walk, still stumbling in many ways
If praised: rejoice! Accept criticism with joy!
I feel it - Father's teachings were not in vain!

REMINISCING ABOUT FATHER

Twelve years old, orphaned and helpless
Mother alone caring for the beloved child
Without a father, the home is desolate
Who will shelter us from the stormy evenings?

Mother often reminds to study diligently
Don't confine oneself to the village corner
Despite scarcity on all sides
We're not inferior to our peers, my child.

Pity the father lost to American bombs
Pity the gentle mother worried and weary
Overcoming the harsh days
Enduring bombs to pursue education without complaint.

Missing father's presence day and night
Whom should we rely on to guide our hearts?
Father's hands firm as a vise
Teaching us to hold the hammer for the first time in life.

I remember well father's words of advice
Must be perseverant and consistent every day
Train to be skilled with our hands
Following father's profession as in the old days.

Now it's time to leave the hometown to study
Facing the difficult days to seek success
Father's aspirations have been fulfilled
The sincere smile father reserved for us...

Fifty years remembering those days
Heart agitated, writing a few lines to suffice
Now the hair is thinning
Father's toil, mother's devotion still unrepaid.

Father escorted to school

Full of generosity and love
As vast as the ocean
Life without Father is impossible
Child grows up mature

Now the child has achieved fame

In Father's eyes still small...

WANT TO SPEAK WITH FATHER

Father dear! Mother has departed,
We remain on this earth only with you, father.
Seeing your sorrowful heart from afar,
We miss mother's figure, far away all alone.

Sinking into the silent realm,
Days pass meaninglessly, indifferently by the window.
What else is there to hope for?
The sky's light has faded within your heart.

Dreaming of things that have passed,
Waking up startled, tears mingling with smoke.
We're all travelers in this transient world,
The vast sea seems to shed a tear as well.

Today is 'Father's Day'
Father is no longer here, remembering Father how!
When Father worked hard and toiled
Raising young children amidst hardships and struggles.

Although life was tough
Providing education for children to be like others
Living simply, without extravagance
Caring for and preserving ancestral traditions

Always teaching children to be obedient and kind
Respecting elders, without burdening others
Teaching the importance of ethics over talent
Treating everyone equally

Living for the present and future
With complete sincerity and clarity
Ignoring social status and fame
Only wishing for a safe and peaceful life

Now Father lies in the western mountains
The words Father taught are still in the depths of my heart!

A thread of smoke blends with the evening, carrying the scent of straw
Your father's shadow follows the hurried days
Chasing rainstorms...

In July, the sun in our hometown sways
Tiring, your mother's shoulders bear the imprints of rice and sweat
Your dreams keep...startling gently
Your thin figure, under one sun, two dews

There are still many years to weave memories, to weave love
Still being able to lean in the stream of life like a flood
In your heart, the figures of Mother and Father never blur

FATHER'S MEMORIAL DAY

Today marks Father's memorial day
Departing that year when summer was at its peak
The bitterness in the heart, how much does the child know
All regrets came after the evening farewell

At the beginning of spring, what blame is there
Pitying Father, who was seriously ill and departed
Mother and siblings foolishly weeping
One just stopped breastfeeding, the other carrying it in their heart

Sadness fills the eyes with tears flowing
The child tries to hold back to prevent overflowing
The heart chilled, bitter and choked
Throughout the years, the pain still remains

How many decades have passed this year
Spring comes, but Father's memorial day brings more sorrow
The altar, candles, and fragrant flowers
The delicious dishes Father liked are laid out in front of Him

Tears welling up in deep sorrow
Offering incense, the child prays to Father at the ancestral altar
May there be sacred blessings and teachings
To help the descendants be obedient, talented, and successful

In the future, reaping glory
Success, advancement, bright and promising future!

FAITH

I stand bewildered, watching the waves of the sea
Where have they taken father to rest?
Decades have passed, NO COUNT TRAIN
Terrorists forced them into the deep sea

The clear blue sea has changed color
Mixing with the red blood of father, comrades
I dream of the waves with silver-haired heads
Anger surges... erupts explosively

Comrades with father are heroes
Will live forever with the homeland
I vow to follow father steadfastly
Building our strong Vietnamese nation

With clear conscience, following the boats
Lighting incense offering immortal wreaths

Missing my Father by the doorway
Gazing at the high sky with drifting clouds
Sitting like that all day long
The empty space serene and quiet

Everyone else is out
At an old age, Father stays home
Weakness confines him close
Guarding the house, awaiting children and grandchildren

In his youth, Father struggled
Raising and educating a whole brood
They grow up educated and wise
Yet Father remains humble...

Though grown, they still
Rely on him
Bearing small children, entrusting them to his care
As grandchildren grow, they still lean on him

Life's struggles persist
Retirement brings no respite
Shouldering burdens despite his age
Even as children and grandchildren mature

Amidst the busy affairs
Urgent tasks at home
He tirelessly tends near and far
Caring for children and grandchildren...

Only now do I truly understand
The life of the elderly
Heart filled with compassion for Father
Now returned to the Ancestors.

Father is the morning sun
Warmly illuminating my life
Guiding me along the paths
Out into the vast sea, unshaken by storms

Father instills vast wisdom
Imparting to me courage in the face of difficulties
Virtue, loyalty, filial piety, his teachings
Tolerance, generosity, hardship endured

Hungry or full, always honest
Respecting teachers, valuing friendship
Win or lose, no hesitation
Wealth or poverty, all the same once

Father is my refuge in pain
A perpetual guiding light, guiding my way
What does he withhold for himself?
Giving me everything out of deep love

Silver-haired for my sake
His figure adorned in the colors of age
He smiles like the full moon
Yet I understand the toil he endures

At night, he lies awake, worrying
Anxieties about my well-being
High fatherly duty lies herein
What sea compares to father's life?

Now I am far away
Longing to return to the humble home

Words of love for the revered parent
Father's lifetime toils, heart tirelessly
At nine springs...eight years...oh father!

Suppressing emotions, seeking forgiveness
Simple-minded child errs against father
Engrossed in trivialities, forgets father's day!
Simple fact...father's day, forgotten!

Father quietly endures a thousand trials
Nurturing the child with each breath
A forgiving heart, complete forgiveness
Raising a well-behaved child, equal to friends

Child knows worldly matters are limited
Father must return to the ancestral realm
Praying father sheds all worries
Child respectfully acknowledges fault!

God bestows grace and redemption
Records father's merits in the earthly realm
Child forever the offspring father bore
Promises to cultivate intellect, brighten the heart.
