1. Poem: Beloved Mother
BELOVED MOTHER
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Far from home, now returning to you, mother
The thatched roof...gentle breeze drifting through
Your white hair flowing, like azure clouds so true
You sit knitting, in your heart, my comforter.
Life isn't all gold and glimmer
Oh, mother dear! I remember when I was young
You, like a painting, graceful among
Shimmering blue eyes, serene and so tender.
Your lips always wear a smile so bright
Making hearts flutter, all those who adore flowers
You return happily to father's arms
Our home's door warm, filled with love, so right.
You fear not the wind nor the dew's might
For my sake, you endure all, to keep me warm and bright
Flowers bloom, their fragrance in the air at night
But none as lovely as you, in your remembered light.
I enjoy life's bounty, day and night
But how could I forget the days you tended
Today, returning to visit, time transcended
By the small porch, you remain ever bright...
Those eyes, so beautiful in days past's light
Still sparkling, still touching hearts with grace
Gazing at me, lovingly, a tender embrace
In your arms, warmth and love, infinitely right.
From your hands, I've grown, taken flight
Many days apart, longing for your embrace tight
Every evening, meals abundant and bright
Your hands, fragrant and gentle, changing everything's plight...
The homeland blossoms more each day's light
Flowers fragrant, fruits sweet, hearts delight
You, mother, forever radiant and bright
Like stars gleaming beneath the tranquil night.

2. Poem: Motherland's Hang Bang
MOTHERLAND'S HANG BANG
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
And one day we must part, my dear
Tam Diep, beloved, a lifetime of fondness
The beautiful Hang Bang street, like from a fairy tale
Embedded in our lives, a time of innocence.
We grow up, wander to distant shores
But nowhere as cherished as you in our wide-open hearts
The interwoven canopy of leaves, like nurturing hands
Lulling our childhood, every morning, every evening.
We grow up with kites in the sky
Midday sneaks out to pick flowers, catch butterflies
Sunny afternoons in Hang Bang, gleefully playing
Tinting our childhood, hair slightly tinged with gold.
Beautiful, oh beautiful Hang Bang street!
The seasons of flowers, gently lifting our steps to school
Even far away, we can never forget
The fragrant flowers, the coolness of schooldays.
Hang Bang, beloved - our Tam Diep rendezvous
Where we keep the fire of love forever ablaze
Love in our hearts, enduring for eternity
Even far away, we promise to return one day.

3. Poem: Missing Father
MISSING FATHER
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
This heart I send to you, dear father
Remembering the years by your side, countless
Your eyes, how loving they are
Always forgiving even in moments of trouble.
I grew up in the warmth of our home
The happiness with you, dear, is endless
Though burdened with work, you always understand
Your heart attuned to my innocent years...
I grew up nurturing dreams
Even far from you, my heart always remembers
When I ventured afar, you still reminded
To persevere, even if stumbling at first.
Our home simple, our bonds profound
Deeply etched in this small heart of mine
Missing you deeply, a lifelong connection
Closer than ever in times of need.
Beloved father, life is wonderfully full
Your figure ever shines in the morning light
If in another life I return someday
Forever I wish to be by your side, your daughter.
Oh father, beloved father! My dearest on earth!

4. Poem: To My Beloved Child
TO MY BELOVED CHILD
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Our Vietnamese language, my dear child
Must be cherished, you must know
It's the language of our fathers and mothers
Only those who stray, who lose their way forget!
Our sacred Vietnamese language...through the ages
A bridge between future and past
A pride our hearts hold dear
Our bloodline...how sweet Vietnamese sounds.
Amidst dark nights, amidst gunfire's roar
Amidst hardships...our forefathers protected our land
The blood they shed, those who came before
So today you can happily walk to school.
The road to the future opens with love
If you choose the right path
Independence - Freedom - warmth and plenty...you desire
Remember how Uncle Ho paved the way...
Vietnamese teaches you to love our homeland
Through poems, songs, folktales, and melodies
Proverbs, folk sayings...rich in sentiment, beautiful in meaning
Condense a thousand lifetimes, listen, my child!
Our country desires gold and silver for countless generations
So Vietnamese must be preserved
Even a single word makes history
For the people of Vietnam to be prosperous forever.
Even if you journey to the ends of the earth
Even if you become a professor or a doctor
But think, does your education, your titles
Begin with Vietnamese, my child?
I'm just your mother
But Vietnamese belongs to the land, woven in its fabric
No matter how skilled you become, you must learn
To be a person of beloved Vietnam.

5. Poem: Returning, My Love
RETURNING, MY LOVE!
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Returning, my love, we return to our motherland
Where peace reigns, even the wind whispers gently
Where our childhood, though troubled...
Has nurtured our souls to maturity.
We may travel to the ends of the sky, the corners of the sea
But our hearts, our minds, always yearn for our homeland
Even if it may seem ordinary there
It's where we'll forever cherish and remember....
In our hearts, a constant reminder
We venture far... to return close
Oh homeland! We love you endlessly
With parents who await day and night.
Though childhood now seems distant
But in our hearts, we yearn for a return
Still steadfastly loyal to our native rivers
Where we cooled off on hot summer afternoons.
Oh homeland! The heart's voice always resounds
Sending back to you thousands of threads of longing, threads of affection
Where mother stands, thin figure enduring sun and mist
Where our hearts are forever bound to life...

6. Poem: What to Write Here
WHAT TO WRITE HERE?
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
What to write here as the streets light up
The moon of the early month softly illuminates in shades of purple
An old jujube tree cradles each ripe fruit
Footsteps hesitant in the moment of parting.
What to write here as autumn has passed by
Carrying with it the colors of flowers, the warmth of the sun
Leaves fall alone in silence
The wind now emptier as seasons change.
We return after many days away
West Lake waves seem to merge with longing
The smiles of yesteryears somewhere caught
Eyes looking back at the past, thinking it was love.
We hesitate though wanting to say so much
The sky tinted with the love of Hanoi
The streets bustling, footsteps hurried
Yet our hearts quietly vacant on the way back.

7. Poem: Evening by Hoan Kiem Lake
EVENING BY HOAN KIEM LAKE
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
One day, you will also fall in love!...
Love arrives as the season changes its leaves
The world is dyed in golden hues
The breeze silently embraces a sky of affection.
How love echoes through alleys, streets
Footsteps still hear the sound of heels
Evening by Hoan Kiem Lake, familiar figures
As if here, in the memories we yearn for.
The melancholic melody sounds poignant, profound
Someone strolls with a burdened mind?
The willow branches lean, tears moisten
Reflecting the changed face of humanity.
And today, wandering after many days
We return as autumn knocks on the door
Your smile, like early golden sunlight
Ignites my heart... longing and waiting.
Your eyes unexpectedly azure
Like the autumn lake amidst shimmering clouds
Hanoi lovingly stitches us wings
Flying into your heart on a peaceful day.
Here, the birdsong echoes from branches
The bustling street releases its leafy melody
Evening by Hoan Kiem Lake, our hearts surge
Hand in hand, bridging the distance of days.
Thap But Bridge, happily we stroll enchanted...

8. Poem: August Autumn
AUGUST AUTUMN
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
I wander amidst the August autumn sky
Yellow leaves follow the melancholic breeze
My heart aches with old wounds
Pain lingers like a scar from years past.
Lost love makes life dull
An afternoon shower seeks temporary shelter
The golden evening light quickly fades
As the wind carries rain across deserted streets...
If only we knew life's countless bitterness
Dreams of a hundred years suddenly turn to ashes
And our once vibrant love quickly fades.
We live on, indifferent to love's allure...
Then one day, the sun brightly returns
Face like a flower, figure like jade
We release our souls into the garden of poetry
To reclaim the joys we once lost.
A thousand sorrows buried deep in the earth
Countless pains laid to rest beneath the clouds
We return to embrace the overflowing happiness
August shines under the August sky.

9. Poem: What to Write Here
AUGUST
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
August arrives... we cheerfully set off
The season of falling leaves, sunlight lulling the street
The tree silently nurturing green buds for ages
Winter passes by... spring buds bloom anew.
August arrives... leaves wither and fall
The cicadas quiet down, seeking shelter
So let it be... buried deep in slumber
For the next season to lull the white-shirted students.
August arrives... the phoenix curls its withered leaves
A blaze of fire among ashes scattered
The autumn wind sweeps everything away...
The sands of time tilt the balance of life.
August calls... the sky covered in milk flower blossoms
The scent of nostalgia lingering at the end of the street
A love ballad takes us back to bygone days
Hearts filled with love, dreaming of a sky so vast.
To be together, poetry also feels less solemn
Let's make a date... before autumn rushes by
Hand in hand, we're strangely close
The garden of love... even distant, feels near.

10. Poem: June Exam Season
JUNE EXAM SEASON
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Hush now as June dampens the air
Ink-stained pages saturated with purple hues
Trembling hands, arms wrapped in determination
Oh exam season! You're so engrossed in searching...
The school reunion day still lingers in the heart
So much nostalgia, now parting brings longing
The red phoenixes blanket the sky with love
Burning passionately, scattering fragrant hues...
June arrives, life suddenly changes
The exam season marks the moment of farewell
Sunbeams linger on the quiet schoolyard
Suddenly, a choked sob is heard nearby.
Hush now as wishes are fulfilled
Strolling confidently on the path ahead
You'll find what you've gained
The old school paving the way for new beginnings.
Hush now, what is there to worry about
The cicadas will hush as summer yields to autumn
Purple cassia adorns the new attire
The phoenixes twist in anticipation of the distant season.
Just like us, in our white-clad days gone by
So many memories fade with the years
The childhood dreams shine bright
Guiding us on the myriad paths of life.
All joys must eventually bid adieu
Hush now as one season follows another
The cicadas' song echoes through the sky
We'll forever remember June... the exam season passed.

11. Poem: The Wound Within
THE WOUND WITHIN
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Autumn dies in the melancholy evening
Scattered sunlight, cold breeze of early winter
Gloomy clouds fill the entire sky
A thousand fallen leaves, wandering souls.
I can't recall how many times I've lost my way
In the lonely winter, no one's shadow
Fog cannot hold back a smile
Two paths diverge, two lives entwined?
I hide myself amidst the shifting light, darkness
Perhaps the cold night surrounds
Life is sideways, where is the peace?
Amidst humanity, laughter, tears?
I silently tread, life is burdensome
And yearn for a voice... that's all!
To know the corner of the sea, the horizon
Somewhere still full of longing...
The lonely streetlight in the corner
Becomes poignant as night falls
People wander amidst hills and rivers
Where is the lifelong love?
I walk alone, continuing on
The heart's wound, can it heal?
On the cold winter road
Do I find... a warm red flame?
Time, please don't flow so slowly
For the lonely heart seeks a bit of golden sunshine
On the path without fame, wealth
I walk gently through the cold.

12. Poem: Farewell to Autumn
FAREWELL TO AUTUMN...
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Bidding Autumn farewell, sadness envelops as leaves fall
Eyes linger with endless longing
The gentle sun illuminates the chiffon scarf
Casually dropped over her shoulder along the street.
Autumn returns, revealing many confessions
A year apart... has turned into ashes
Those who departed, like Autumn, have passed
Leaving Autumn hurriedly amidst the storm.
Once in love, hence Autumn's incomplete
What to do when leaves have left their branches?
Autumn fades, no longer beckoning green
For longing not to bud, to go astray.
Autumn silently hopes for a return one day
To fulfill dreams beside the early Spring
So as not to be sorrowful when Autumn departs
Autumn strides boldly forward despite the fiery sun.
Though knowing there will be another meeting
Autumn departs, weary of longing
What to do when fate comes full circle
The solitary path stretches endlessly.
Just like us, life's twists and turns
Coming together then apart, destiny's arrangement
Like Autumn - Winter forever in long years
Always apart even if we meet again tomorrow...

13. Poem: Night Blossom
NIGHT BLOSSOM
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Gently nestled under the clear moonlight
Mingling in the melody of beloved earth
Petals tenderly hold dewdrops
Your dress fluttering lightly through the night.
So beautiful you are! White Quynh blossom
Gracefully beautiful amidst darkness, night
Ignoring the intrusive lights
To bloom like shimmering lights...
Under the midnight moon, scent blends in the cold mist
Quietly pulsating with revived life
Even as night falls, radiantly shining
Enchanting life with additional magic.
Hand in hand, enjoying the gentle melody
Soft music beside warm water, tea cups
We gather, admiring the flower's form
Though briefly withdrawing in the shattered moonlight.
Far from you now, yet my heart forever remembers
A Quynh blossom quietly blooming in the sorrowful night
Pitying the flower, akin to first love
A flower's soul... deeply stirring the night's stillness.

14. Poem: Back to the Old School
BACK TO THE OLD SCHOOL
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Don't foolishly wish for summer's Phoenix blooms
To shatter your heart with shattered dreams of love
White dresses haunting, schoolyard bathed in sun
Evoke longing... echoes of melancholic cicadas.
You return... revisit the old classroom
Rain pours amidst the hurried summer noon
Phoenix flowers twirl, fluttering wildly
Like footsteps hurrying away from the school.
The red Phoenix like a lover's gaze
Cicadas buzzing... grasping at those staying
As if the echoing heart returns to innocent days
Memories linger... of naive white uniforms.
You pour your heart into verses
Wrapping years within small notebooks
Desires... a confession to be made
As if reminding not to rush by.
You know Phoenix blooms will part
Friends, teachers... blackboards, white chalk...
Schoolyard farewells many silent days
Only wind rustles amidst the trembling leaves.
Purple Phoenix bears the nostalgia
Friends from all corners now return in bustle
Schoolyard echoes with the hue of purple
The color of earnest love from the beginning.
You departed with green hair in those days
Now returning to the old school... hair silvered by sun... wind
Only childhood memories remain
Etched deeply in our hearts, our bond.
The beloved school now changed, transformed
Elegant, beautifully adorned without moss covering
As a reminder to those leaving... those staying...
When summer returns, don't lament... moments of separation.
All love will eventually bloom
Like purple Phoenixes exuding lingering affection
Like red Phoenixes adorning the azure sky
Like golden sun spreading wide to embrace beloved feet.
The old school bears witness to so much
Innocent youth, angels in white
Spreading open their arms, youthful vigor always striving
Weaving the future from that place... the school...

15. Poem: Autumn's Farewell
AUTUMN'S FAREWELL...
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
No more echoes of cicadas ringing!
Phoenix branches slowly lose their crimson hues
Autumn is waning beneath the golden sun
Where has the enchantment gone?
Rainbows fade before the rain even arrives
Can't remember how long it's been since we've fallen
Drip, drop, then suddenly stop
Pity ourselves as the heat still rises.
Autumn is waning... carrying tender memories
Sunrays pour endlessly onto tired eyes
Sunset fades, figures distant and estranged
Yet the heart aches amidst the desolate afternoon.
We wish to be wandering breezes
Casually strolling with carefree steps
Far from human affairs, unaffected by love
Leaving behind all numbness, regrets.
But life isn't just tranquility
Persistent pain lingers in memories
Tormenting the body, sinking into the subconscious
Leaving the heart sore, weary...
We ask ourselves what's left today?
Lost in an unfamiliar land on a sunny day
Autumn is waning...slowly dissolving in solitude
What bitter sorrow follows us?...

16. Poem: Selling...
SELLING! ...
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
I offer to sell my sorrows
To buy back a bit of peace in life
To buy back those lost smiles
That slipped away from childhood's grasp!
I offer to sell my words...
Each cut like a knife into the soul
To buy back that inner glow
To ease the heart's longing for days gone by.
I offer to sell my tears
To buy back the dreams of life
To buy back the sparkling eyes
To regain the vigor of youthful days.
Buy back the rosy cheeks
Buy back the words of trust and love
To make early mornings, late evenings
Filled with genuine affection amidst hardships.
I offer to sell a few things...
Would anyone buy... just a bit!
I carry them for sale... earnestly
Would anyone buy and take them home... as belief...
Life has so many bystanders
While those in hardship are drowning
So I offer to sell to find
Hearts that still love others.
Who will buy and return a smile
Return a bright, sweet, and vibrant life
Would anyone buy for me?
So I keep selling... then why, oh why???

17. Poem: Will You Return?
WILL YOU RETURN?
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Will you return to Hanoi with me?
I stroll along the familiar path
Evening at Hoan Kiem Lake carries many dreams
A love song sweetly sung in the beginning.
Will you return to Hanoi with me?
The small street still awaits your return
The milk flower season lingers on endlessly
As if remembering the one who passed by before.
This year, Phuong blooms with flowers
Purple orchids, waiting with tender love
Memories of the past still vividly cherished
A fervent sky awaits your return.
Will you return to Hanoi, my love?
Orchids bloom along the branches, fragrant
The scent of flowers drifts in the twilight breeze
Always longing, eagerly awaiting your arrival.

18. Poem: Winter's Breath
WINTER'S BREATH
Poetry by Hoang Nhu Phuong
Separated now, do you remember?
Winter arrives, the room feels emptier
We once held hands, pledging eternity...
Farewell now...any regrets?
The path of love seemed forever green
In hardship, we nurtured happiness
But today, our love is like withered leaves
Not complete, awakening past affections.
Parted ways, each to a different direction
We wander amidst life's trials and tribulations
At the edge of the horizon, the sun rises red
Our love unspoken fades quickly...
What do I have when you pass by?
So many memories...grasping at ashes
What can erase them forever
The dust of love lingers in a saddened heart?
You've departed...I remind myself to cherish
To value the long road ahead
Though life never reveals
The obstacles that will scar us.
Winter comes, I remain unmoved
Embracing the wind in the cold night
After the rain, tomorrow the sky will clear
The sun will warm this lonely heart!
Time continues to whitewash life!
