1. Poem: REMEMBERING FATHER - Nghi Lam
REMEMBERING FATHER
Poem: Nghi Lam
During his lifetime, Father was a robust figure
Everyone needed him, tirelessly working
He actively promoted the set criteria
Elders were affectionate and friendly
At the funeral, no elaborate mourning clothes were needed
With the strength of Father, he contributed and raised funds
Old people were not left out without assistance
He shared what he had, even the little food he had
Father shared from the available portion
Though aged, he did not lack hidden vigor
He did not leave unfinished what he started
Despite the years, until the memorial day he led
Welcoming everyone to the festive gathering
Though old, his demeanor concealed vitality
He did not abandon anything unfinished
Years passed, arriving at the Tet holiday
Father received Lunar New Year gifts to give to everyone
In the alley, from the house to the playground
The little ones called out, 'Grandpa, Grandpa'
Today, Father has gone to the other world
The Elderly Association also misses their Brother
He left, leaving much sorrow behind
Loved by distant and close relatives
Remembering Father, we send flowers
Pure white chrysanthemums with a grateful heart
We hope that in the golden stream, He finds peace
May He peacefully move on in the afterlife
Our respect, from children and grandchildren
May His spirit bring honor to the family!

2. Poem: REMEMBERING THE COLOR OF YOUR DRESS - Nghi Lam
REMEMBERING THE COLOR OF YOUR DRESS
Poem: Nghi Lam
I met you under the roof of Elementary School
An autumn afternoon, just stepping into the new
The girl from Ca Mau has the gentle charm
Of Đước flower and Tràm U Minh Hạ
We knew each other, seemingly like strangers
Eyes searching for familiar features
Although your hometown is salty and brackish
It couldn't tarnish your fair, youthful skin
In the resistance, you traveled every path
With determined enemies, despite hardships
Forget the past in memories of war
Your youth is devoted to the Motherland
The day I met you is a stepping stone
To cultivate and build in the future
Peace, even with a heavy burden on the shoulders
Education and culture enriching knowledge
THE COLOR OF YOUR DRESS always touches the heart
Eliciting in me countless overflowing memories
A beloved student of mine
The chalk dust warmed our hands
Comrade affection deepened during discussions
You enthusiastically embraced the movement
I appreciate you for knowing you strive
Now recalling THE COLOR OF YOUR DRESS, beloved
Long gone are the days of school
The old school filled with proud memories
Because the Soldier of the Police Force once bonded!

3. Poem: REMEMBERING MY YOUNGER SISTER - Nghi Lam
REMEMBERING MY YOUNGER SISTER
Poem: Nghi Lam
You and I have never met
Just by chance, we got to know each other online
Yet, the affection is rich and overflowing
As if we've known each other for ages
That land, I've never seen
Like the lovely Thai girl
And the captivating landscapes of Son La
From Saigon, I hear the distant drum
Longing for the Northwestern highlands
Even with only messages exchanged
There's sweetness and excitement
Your homeland has many nostalgic aspects
Mountains, hills, and the dreamy stream
I only know through the verses of poetry
Probably not enough, hence the deep sorrow
The rugged region, distant and isolated
From the lowland, forever yearning
Son La, oh, softly I whisper in my heart
I WILL COME THERE TO VISIT MY YOUNGER SISTER!
(Saigon, morning, September 29, 2018)
4. Poem: VISITING THE FLOATING MARKET - Nghi Lam
VISITING THE FLOATING MARKET
Poem: Nghi Lam
I bring you here to visit the Floating Market
On an early sunny autumn day sparkling bright
The Cai Rang River gently carries waves of affection
A small boat anchors at the dock
Where this land was once innocent in childhood
My mother took me to visit Can Tho Province
The charming fruit orchards were unexpectedly attractive
The little boy looks on, fascinated
Today, it has passed through a time long ago
Cai Rang Floating Market harmonizes the rhythm of trade
Farmers bring fruits from their abundant gardens
Participating on boats every morning
You'll see many graceful young ladies
Welcoming visitors to explore their homeland
With a genuine and dedicated heart
Of a region gradually changing every day
Down the flowing water on the Floating Market
Will give you unexpected surprises
A peaceful scene with a touch of poetry
To feel the gentle and spreading charm
Returning to Can Tho, you might still be amazed
By what is unfamiliar to Saigon
Bunches of purple flowers gently float down the river
Even the leaves hide behind the fruit trees
And all that remains
Is very Mekong, very endearing
Tomorrow, when you return, it will surely linger
REMEMBERING THE TOUCHING MEMORIES OF THE FLOATING MARKET.
5. Poem: SWEETNESS - Nghi Lam
SWEETNESS
Poem: Nghi Lam
Why am I enchanted by the WHITE BAN FLOWER color?
Probably because of you and the land of Son La
Where the border region is covered in distant mountains
With terraced fields and dreamy streams in the village
I also know your hometown is always hospitable
Very friendly to guests from the distant South
Festival days always echo with laughter
From many charming Thai girls gracefully dancing
From the South, I plan to visit you in the coming months
To Hanoi and then to visit you
The Thai girl with gentle and kind eyes
Has left an impression in my heart since I knew
Although the distance is long and far apart
In Muong land, many memories linger in me
Green tea hills and fields of corn cultivation
With sweet potatoes and your love in there
Don't think my words are just flashy
So that you get angry and blame me
Saigon always loves and misses endlessly
Have the opportunity to meet again, WHITE BAN FLOWER!
(Saigon, morning of October 5, 2018.
6. Poem: HANOI HAS WHITE MAGNOLIA - Nghi Lam
HANOI HAS WHITE MAGNOLIA
Poem: Nghi Lam
I love Hanoi with WHITE MAGNOLIA
Pure white like a girl in her youth
In the winter, the flowers bloom with profound meaning
So many beautiful poems to show the delicate charm
How beautiful, a flower that's not a queen
Just pure and fragile
But it has stirred my heart
Because it has you, the one I miss in Hanoi
Through the months of contemplation
Still cherishing sweet memories
In the garden of Quang Ba on a morning
Admiring the WHITE MAGNOLIA just blooming
Late autumn sky takes me into a dream
Hearing you tell the story of this flower
The Fairy from a distant sky
Sent it down to plant in the earthly realm
This flower always brings a fresh color
Small and cute, but it stores affection
Always shining under the warm dawn sun
WHITE MAGNOLIA has its name from that moment
It's rare for me, Saigon, to see
The beloved flower in your northern land
So yearning in the quiet night
Remembering intensely the white of WHITE MAGNOLIA!

7. Poem: YOU WELCOMING ME - Nghi Lam
YOU WELCOMING ME
Poem: Nghi Lam
You welcome me in the remaining autumn
Purple long-sleeved dress, jasmine buttoned
Together fluttering, secretly throbbing
With the sweetness of long-awaited days
You welcome me, a distant figure
We met on an occasion by chance
Gradually, our love turned into poetry
In the Old Quarter, on the road we walked together
You welcome me, as if you've known in advance
Each reunion brings us closer
And West Lake will have the winds stirring
Stone benches welcome familiar faces
You welcome me beside the willow-lined row
Golden sunlight reflects on the tranquil water
A girl smiles, her eyes revealing charm
Enchanting everyone as I return
You welcome me with rosy and loving lips
While Hanoi is preparing for the night
Watching dry leaves fall gently under soft feet
Love marks a gentle embrace
You welcome me with so many words
Remembering affection that has lasted so long
Shoulder to shoulder, we embrace, immersed in joy
You welcome me in a garden with many blooming flowers
Red River bank shining brilliantly
Quick kisses express boundless affection
Connecting us with the happiness of two hearts
You welcome me in time and at the right moment
Amidst the rush of the earthly realm entering winter
For the other who has not wearied waiting
For the love that lasted through the years!

8. Poem: VINTAGE GRACE - Nghi Lam
VINTAGE GRACE
Poem: Nghi Lam
Gazing at the VINTAGE GRACE, I delve into memories
A poem returning to your homeland
Green fields, serene scenery
With water channels along the grassy banks
A country girl, petite and graceful
Wearing the traditional bà ba, a scarf wrapped around her shoulders
The scent of domestic flowers gently spreading
Makes me intoxicated and enchanted
Even with mud on her hands from farming
Her skin remains pure and lovely
Always charming, innocent, and delicate
In leisure, after plowing the fields
Under the thatched roof, you sit, showcasing your elegance
Waiting for someone, your gaze distant
Creating a melodious and secretive ambiance
Stepping forward to introduce myself just in time
We met for only a few minutes
Yet, it left me deeply moved and nostalgic
Day after day, the enchantment continues
Evening meetings, we bonded
Then, I returned to a distant place
Missing many countryside girls
And the tranquil evenings watching the sunset
Walking together on the deserted embankment
Now it is late autumn, the sun sparsely shining
Do you still remember me?
And do you still lean against the door waiting?
Waiting for the lover of VINTAGE GRACE to return!
10. Poem: OH, THÁI BÌNH! - Nghi Lâm
OH, THÁI BÌNH!
Poem by: Nghi Lâm
Though I haven't reached your land yet
Thái Bình still echoes within me
The beloved land of rice with sincere hearts
With the fragrance of the sea and the warmth of the people
Before, I promised to come visit you in Hanoi
To leave behind the restlessness in the night
Longing in a place I've never known
Hearing you speak, my love deepens
Cồn Vành's sea with its abundant waves and silt
Or Trần Temple, its bell gently resonating
Welcoming visitors from all around
In the past, this place echoed with history
Golden rice fields enduring relentless bombs
From enemy planes circling the sky
Harvesting an average of Five Tons of rice
I know your hometown is vibrant with sunlight
Every summer, children release buffalo to roam
Kites floating high in the sky
Chasing butterflies in dry, waterless fields
Yet there's much more lying ahead
Waiting for me to explore when I arrive
And Thái Bình, I'm sure, will be amazing
For the scenery with you in the land of rice!
11. Poem: FLOWERS BESIDE YOU - Nghi Lâm
FLOWERS BESIDE YOU
Poem by: Nghi Lâm
The sky has just turned winter
Your cheeks glow with pink hues
I've been waiting for you endlessly
Hiding the yellow of sunlight
That was once absent for a while
I feel a melancholic sorrow
Remembering someone in every evening
As the sunset descends
Not due to desire
But because of the autumn's arrival
Leaving a poignant heartbreak
Because on the day of parting
Will there ever be a chance
To see the PURPLE FLOWERS I once loved
Now only loneliness remains
Nightfall echoes with sighs
Memories from a distant time
Now, I reluctantly let go and forget
For winter is approaching
Allowing me to dream a little
Sending my gaze towards her
Next to the small white flowers
Graceful and full of affection
Adding to the secretly adorable charm!
12. Poem: CLOUDS AND I - Nghi Lâm
CLOUDS AND I
Poem by: Nghi Lâm
Clouds traverse the sea, witnessing our silent affection
Under the evening glow, just beginning to embrace dusk
Looking up, as if pushed by the wind, they hesitate
Surely not wanting to gaze for too long
Early on, the clouds decide to drift away, hesitatingly
Allowing the disgruntled wind to depart
I'm by your side, still tender and devoted
Admiring the resounding waves along the endless shore
The evening sun sets, clouds seem to sing
A lullaby for two lovers in sweet romance
Hand in hand, immersed in tender and sweet love
A warm kiss welcomes the descending night
Then the clouds change colors unexpectedly
Darkening the sky with the vast sea and me
Only visible in the distant open sea
The shadow of a boat hazily gliding on the waves
Farewell, clouds no longer eavesdrop
The whispered words between you and me
The beloved city hurriedly lights up the night
Welcoming the two of us back in affection!
(Saigon, evening of October 12, 2018.) N.L
13. Poem: LONGING FOR THE MEKONG DELTA - Nghi Lâm
LONGING FOR THE MEKONG DELTA
Poem by: Nghi Lâm
My homeland in the Mekong Delta overflows with nostalgia
Rich soil, vast fields, and fertile alluvium
Simple and gentle lives of the farmers
Where the joy lies in bamboo banks and rice paddies
Under the relentless sun, their skin turns tanned and rugged
Yet, it resonates with the profound love between couples
After the harvest, the sweetness becomes even more poignant
The fragrance of pomelo, lotus, and love intermingles
I arrived in Hậu Giang on a day bathed in sunlight
The sun cast shadows onto the flowing canals
Walking beside you, hearing the unnamed whispers
My heart throbs in rhythm with the surroundings
You guided me through the ferry just in time
The river's water flows, carrying floating water hyacinths
Coconut trees along the canal create a natural shade
Love for the homeland seeps deep into the soil
Buffaloes graze in the sugar cane fields by the pond
Even from a distance, the fond memories linger
The silhouette of a girl imprinted on the small riverbank!
(Saigon, morning of October 14, 2018.) N.L
14. Poem: SAIGON AFTER THE RAIN - Nghi Lâm
SAIGON AFTER THE RAIN
Poem by: Nghi Lâm
Saigon, after the rain, remains quite melancholic
Lacking your presence, the city seems to sigh
I wander through the streets in various afternoons
Admiring the raindrops, poignant with memories
Out there, don't be needlessly sad
Let the winter rain merge with the teardrops
Without me, sharing silent thoughts
Perhaps, Miss Northern Vietnam, you're quite upset
Our meetings aren't always so romantic
Like many who cherish love passionately
Despite the challenges that time brings
Today, the rain falls again, golden leaves glisten
Remembering the many beloved Hanoi girls
Come, let me speak many words to you
Share the lingering concerns
And the rain has ceased its persistent fall
The gentle wind whispers through the pretty flowers
Tao Dan Park illuminates, lights sparkling
Reminding me to welcome you on our next meeting
The poem has expressed what words confess
Sending to someone far away
Don't let me endure such poignant anticipation
ADMIRING THE SCENE OF SAIGON AFTER THE RAIN JUST ENDED!
15. Poem: THANKSGIVING - Nghi Lâm
THANKSGIVING
Poem by: Nghi Lâm
I must THANKSGIVE to you despite the pain
Several decades have passed since we drifted apart
The days were sweet with the age of jade
Embraced in love's enchantment
But what remains deep within us?
Perhaps, it's regret from times long ago
Every rendezvous in quiet rainy nights
The winter wind, cold, but our hearts always warm
Now, even the stormy afternoons are over
Since you left, leaving behind memories of love
I search in pain, seeking in solitude
Relentless heartache clings to every beat
Enough, my love, don't weep for unfinished love
Don't choke on the night's silent whispers
Leave the past, even with its sweetness
So I can find tranquility when all is gone
Whether you wander in a distant land unknown
Or have transcended the worldly existence
The poignant echoes of past affection
Should also be forgotten, so I can THANKSGIVE!
16. Poem: COME VISIT, MY DARLING SAIGON - Nghi Lâm
COME VISIT, MY DARLING SAIGON
Poem by: Nghi Lâm
In the middle of October, come visit me, my love
See Saigon shining brightly under the sun
Witness the streets adorned for the Celebration Day
Celebrating Vietnamese Women, vibrant and proud
You've grown up in the Northern land
Yet, memories of the Southern land linger
Where I am, fulfilling duties and love
Connecting our hearts with love and responsibility
In Hanoi, the season of memories has arrived
The cold winter days are past, dreamy autumn gone
Now, the hibiscus is in full bloom, showing off its elegance
Come visit me, let your brilliance shine
In the Southeastern land during October
Wearing the ao dai, elegant and fresh
With love sparkling like blossoming flowers
Surely, there will be joy and excitement
Because you are near, close to me
Leaving behind the days of longing, eyes sparkling
We unite, immersed in blissful happiness
Don't hesitate; now is the time
I need the warmth of your embrace
To feel the gentle throbbing of your presence
FROM THE BELOVED LADY OF HANOI!
(Saigon, noon on October 16, 2018.)
17. Poem: TO YOU - Nghi Lâm
TO YOU
Poem by: Nghi Lâm
Greetings to the highland girl in Thái
A beautiful figure, charming amidst the hills
Wildflowers shining brightly in the forest
Even the dreamy stream praises your beauty
At night, the melodious sound of the flute
From the boy in the village expressing his love
Why do you remain silent, my dear?
Gazing towards the tranquil distance
Where memories of you linger in my heart
Now, winter has arrived
Perhaps, you still await someone's return
I cherish the mountainous maiden's vow
Here, I wrap my affection and send it to you!
(Saigon, noon on October 17, 2018.)
18. Poem
RETURN TO AUTUMN
Poem: Nghi Lâm
Bác, you departed on Elderly Day
Devoting a lifetime to the nation
With steadfast loyalty to the Party and Country
We mourn the loss of the true General Secretary
Remembering the days when you were caring and cheerful
Always smiling warmly with the people
Disregarding personal preferences
Only desiring prosperity for our homeland
Each contemplation directed towards the same goal
For the people, for our beloved Country
The policy decisions carefully considered
Transparently acknowledged by every corner
An entire youth dedicated to the Revolution
Through challenging periods of fierce struggle
Tortured by colonialists in Hoa Lo Prison
Unyielding, steadfast alongside the Party
Even in retirement, you didn't forget to reminisce
Recalling the glorious past of heroism
Of numerous comrades' unwavering loyalty
And of the entire nation during the period of nation-building
Who knows what tomorrow holds
As you depart for eternal peace
To a place free from worries and troubles
WE HOPE YOU REST IN PEACE!
(Saigon, morning of October 3, 2018)
