1. National University of Hanoi
National University of Hanoi (VNU) is one of the two national universities in Vietnam, directly under the guidance of the government, playing a crucial role in the country's education system. VNU is a multidisciplinary, high-quality training and scientific research center, gradually reaching international standards, meeting the country's development requirements, and aligning with the trend of advanced university education. The organizational structure of VNU is unique compared to other universities in Vietnam, with three levels of administrative management. VNU is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister. Member universities, research institutes, faculties, research and technology training centers, and units serving training and scientific research directly under VNU are legal entities with their own seals and accounts. 2. University of Hue
Hue University is a national key university located in Hue, evaluated as one of the top 10 universities in Vietnam, and a pillar in the country's higher education system. Formerly known as Hue University Institute established in 1957, it is the first and oldest university in the Central Highlands region. With the largest scale of training and scientific research in Central and Central Highlands Vietnam, Hue University is currently completing the project of becoming the National University of Hue according to Resolution No. 54-NQ/TW dated December 10, 2019, by the Politburo. 3. Ho Chi Minh City National University
Ho Chi Minh City National University is one of the two national university systems of Vietnam, located in Ho Chi Minh City, recognized as one of the top 1000 universities/groups in the world. 4. Thai Nguyen University
Thai Nguyen University is a university classified in the group of national key universities, headquartered in Thai Nguyen, recognized as one of the 17 best universities/groups in Vietnam; is a pillar in the higher education system of Vietnam. It was established on April 4, 1994, under Decree No. 31/CP of the Government. 5. University of Da Nang
University of Da Nang is a university system in Vietnam, headquartered in Da Nang, established on April 4, 1994, under the decree No. 32/CP of the Government. Since 2018, the University of Da Nang has consistently been ranked by Unirank as one of the top 5 universities/groups in Vietnam, classified as a national key university, a pillar in Vietnam's higher education system. In addition to education, the University of Da Nang is also a research center in the Central Highlands region on various fields: science and technology, economics. 6. Vinh University
Vinh University is one of the largest multi-disciplinary universities in Central Vietnam, directly under the Ministry of Education and Training, developed on the basis of Vinh Pedagogical University. Currently, Vinh University is listed as a national key university in Vietnam, being invested in becoming a University, comprising multiple member universities. 7. Can Tho University
Can Tho University is a large multidisciplinary university with a prominent position in Vietnam's higher education system, specializing in training in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and aquaculture for the entire country. It is categorized by the government as a national key university. The university is one of three universities in Vietnam that meet international training standards of the ASEAN University System. In addition to education, the university is also a center for scientific research and management policy in Vietnam. The predecessor of Can Tho University is Can Tho University Institute. From 2012 to the present, the university has expanded its training base in Hoa An and offers high-quality regular training programs. 8. Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics
University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is a multi-disciplinary university in Vietnam, classified among the national key universities. It is a pillar in Vietnam's higher education system and serves as a research center for economic and management policies for the government and large enterprises. The university was established under the Decision No. 426/TTg on October 27, 1976, by Prime Minister Pham Van Dong, through the merger of the Law University of the Saigon University and other pre-1975 Southern Economic Universities, under the Ministry of Higher Education and Professional Training, now part of the Ministry of Education and Training. At the same time, in October 1976, Branch II of the University of Finance and Accounting in Ho Chi Minh City was established. 10. Ho Chi Minh City University of Education
Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, established on October 27, 1976, according to Decision No. 426/TTg of the Prime Minister of the Government, is a specialized pedagogical university ranked among the group of national key universities in Vietnam. The university is under the Ministry of Education and Training. Its precursor is the Pedagogy Department (Faculté de Pédagogie) of the University of Saigon (also known as the University of Saigon Pedagogy), established in 1957 under the Republic of Vietnam. On November 8, 1975, the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam established the University of Saigon, including 11 universities in the area, including the University of Saigon Pedagogy. After the reunification of Vietnam, on October 27, 1976, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam issued Decision No. 426/TTg to establish Ho Chi Minh City University of Education on the basis of the University of Saigon Pedagogy. 11. Hanoi University of Education
Hanoi University of Education is a high-quality university and research center in Vietnam's higher education system. It was established on October 11, 1951, according to Decree 276 of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. On December 10, 1993, by Decree 97/CP of the Government, Hanoi University of Education I became a member university of Hanoi National University. According to Decision 201/QD-TTg on October 12, 1999, by the Prime Minister, Hanoi University of Education became an independent institution. The university has a second campus in Ha Nam province (merged with Ha Nam Pedagogical College) since December 30, 2015.
The total number of management, faculty, and staff is 1,227 (807 lecturers, including 609 full-time lecturers, 70 long-term contract lecturers, 362 female lecturers). 12. Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy
Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy is a specialized medical university in Vietnam. It is tasked with training doctors, pharmacists with university and postgraduate qualifications, conducting scientific research, and transferring medical technology to support the development of the healthcare system to meet the health care needs of the people in the Southeast region. It is classified as a key national university in Vietnam, under the Ministry of Health. Its predecessor is Saigon Medical University, established in 1947 as a branch of Hanoi Medical University. Prof. C.Massias was appointed as the Dean of this branch. The first campus of Saigon Medical University was located at 28 Testard Street, District 3 (now Vo Van Tan Street).
The Ministry of Health is implementing a project to propose the establishment of the Health University in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with a three-tier model including member universities, with the foundation upgraded from Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. This development will help decentralize responsibilities, management, and at the same time leverage the internal resources of the two strongest medical training institutions in the country. Currently, each faculty of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy has its own facilities, with a scale equivalent to many facilities currently training human resources for the medical sector and will later be upgraded to become member universities, under a comprehensive university model. Established in 1956 as the University of Agriculture and Forestry under Decree No. 53/ND-NL dated October 12, 1956, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, it comprised three faculties: Agronomy, Animal Husbandry - Veterinary, Forestry; and had five majors: cultivation, agricultural machinery, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, and forestry. It had three administrative departments: Administration, Personnel Organization, and Academic Affairs. In 1958, it merged with the Institute for Crop Research, the Institute for Animal Husbandry Research, and the Wood and Forest Research Department to become the Vietnam University of Agriculture and Forestry. In 1961, it added the major of aquaculture and seafood processing and established the Faculty of Agricultural Economics. In 1963, a part of the faculty and technical facilities were transferred to establish the Institute of Agricultural Science. In 1964, the university separated the Faculty of Forestry, the Wood and Forest Research Department, part of the agricultural machinery departments, and part of the economics faculty to establish the University of Forestry (now Vietnam Forestry University). At this point, the remaining part of the university changed its name to the University of Agriculture.
On March 28, 2014, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture was established directly under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development based on the restructuring of Hanoi University of Agriculture, according to Decision No. 441/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. On June 17, 2015, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 873/QD-TTg approving the Pilot Innovation Project of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture's operating mechanism for the period 2015 - 2017, with the general goal of the academy proactively exploiting and using resources reasonably and efficiently to innovate and improve the quality of training, striving to become a multidisciplinary, internationally standardized research university; while ensuring opportunities for policy beneficiaries and those in poor households to study at the academy. The mission of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture is to train and provide high-quality human resources, research, develop, and transfer advanced scientific and technological knowledge in the field of agriculture and technology; contribute to the development of agriculture and the country's international integration.

17. Vietnam Maritime University
Vietnam Maritime University, also known as the 'Oceanic University,' is an educational institution under the Ministry of Transport, specializing in engineering, with strengths in maritime and logistics education. It is classified as a national key university, playing a core role in Vietnam's education system. Vietnam Maritime University is a member of the Association of Maritime Education and Training Institutions in Asia-Pacific (AMETIAP) and the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU). The university offers 53 regular majors, including 50 undergraduate programs, 5 high-quality programs, 2 selective classes, and 3 advanced programs. Currently, the university has 683 lecturers and 281 administrative staff, including 48 professors/associate professors, 91 doctors, and 376 masters. There are also 338 ship captains and chief engineers.
As a specialized university with a high international orientation due to the early internationalization of the Maritime industry, the international relations activities of Vietnam Maritime University have been strategically focused and regularly monitored. Some notable achievements in international relations in recent years include successfully establishing 3 joint ventures with Japanese and Korean partners and implementing numerous postgraduate training collaboration programs with prestigious universities worldwide, including the UK, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Russia, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and China. Through these programs, the university has trained over 60 doctors and engineers for the transportation industry, Hai Phong City, and the university itself. Additionally, it has produced dozens of master's degree holders in specialized fields to serve the country's maritime economic strategy, especially in Hai Phong City.

18. Academy of Journalism and Communication
The Academy of Journalism and Communication is a national key university in Vietnam, under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, located in Hanoi. Established on January 16, 1962, by Resolution No. 36 of the Party Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, 3 schools were merged to form the academy: Nguyen Ai Quoc School Branch II, Propaganda School, and People's University. The academy is situated in the Hoai Duc suburban area. Currently, the academy has 413 officials and employees, including 242 lecturers. The teaching staff includes 1 professor, 40 associate professors, 82 doctors, 226 masters, 42 bachelors, and 22 others. The university also invites many professors, associate professors, doctors, and leading experts in political theory and journalism to participate in teaching, thesis guidance, and doctoral dissertation defense committees.
The Academy of Journalism and Communication covers a total area of 57,310m2 in Dich Vong Hau Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi. The campus includes offices, classrooms, faculty dormitories, student dormitories, and green areas. The dormitory has 203 rooms, accommodating 980 students. The Directorate sets standards for students to stay in dormitories, giving priority to students from remote and difficult areas, especially those with revolutionary family contributions. Currently, the construction of Dormitory A5 with 1 basement and 12 floors has commenced, providing accommodation for 1200 students upon completion. Many alumni hold significant positions in the Party and State apparatus of Vietnam, in ideological and cultural agencies, and in press and publishing organizations. There are numerous alumni who are current members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, including two members of the Politburo and one member of the Secretariat.

19. Military Medical Academy
The Military Medical Academy is a national key university in Vietnam, under the Ministry of National Defense. It is a research university that trains doctors, pharmacists, and nurses for the Vietnamese People's Army, supports the training of doctors for the People's Public Security, and provides doctors and pharmacists for the armies and police of Laos and Cambodia under a cooperative program. The academy now only admits undergraduate students in general military medicine, no longer admitting students in military pharmacy and civilian sectors. Established on March 10, 1949, during the early years of the resistance war against the French, the academy combined combat with teaching. Overcoming sacrifices and hardships, the academy trained over 400 doctors who participated in protecting the health of the military and treating wounded soldiers in campaigns such as the Border Campaign, Northwest Campaign, and Dien Bien Phu, contributing to the nation's victory in the resistance war against the French. The Military Medical Academy has 10 departments, 1 office, 2 practical hospitals (103 Military Hospital and National Burn Institute Lê Hữu Trác), 6 institutes and centers, and a branch in the South (in Ho Chi Minh City), with nearly 100 departments and faculties, and 5 student management systems.
The Military Medical Academy has 95% of its staff holding postgraduate qualifications. Among them are 28 professors, 88 associate professors, 185 doctors, and over 300 masters. Since its establishment to 2008, 5 educators have been awarded the title of People's Teacher, 6 doctors have been awarded the title of People's Physician, 29 educators have been awarded the title of Excellent Teacher, and 100 doctors have been awarded the title of Excellent Physician. 36 teaching and research staff have been conferred the title of Professor, and 102 staff members have been conferred the title of Associate Professor. The academy has trained over 60,000 doctors, including over 1,200 doctors, over 4,500 masters, over 7,000 physicians with specialist degrees, over 50,000 general practitioners, pharmacists, and over 80,000 medical staff. The academy has completed over 4,800 scientific topics and nearly 5,000 technical initiatives, including over 550 national-level topics and projects, contributing significantly to the development of Vietnam's medical field and serving national defense and security missions.
