6. Buddha Tower of Thich Ca
Located on the northern slope of Big Mountain, at 608 Tran Phu Street, Ward 5, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, Thich Ca Buddha Tower is a famous Buddhist monument of the Southern Zen sect. This construction was the idea of Mr. Le Quang Vinh - a French colonial official, but due to dissatisfaction with the regime, he resigned from the government to pursue spiritual practice. The groundbreaking ceremony for the temple was held on July 20, 1961, and inaugurated on March 10, 1963, after 19 months of construction. The Thich Ca Buddha Tower complex covers an area of about 28 hectares, located at an altitude of 3 to 29 meters above sea level, including 3 main areas: Three Gates and Flower Planting Area, Guest House Area, and Traditional Exhibition Area, temples and statue gardens of Buddha (monument area).
In addition, above the top of the tower is a stone lotus, inside which there are 13 Buddha relics consecrated by Venerable Narada Maha Thera, and below the 4 legs are placed 4 large peaks containing soil from 4 famous Buddhist sites in India: Lumbini Garden - where the Buddha was born, Bodh Gaya - where he attained enlightenment, Deer Park - where he preached the first sermon, and Sala Forest - where he entered Nirvana, hence extremely sacred. The Golden Body Buddha Statue: depicts the image of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni meditating under the Bodhi tree when practicing and attaining enlightenment, this is also the most prominent work and becomes the common name for the entire architectural complex - Thich Ca Buddha Tower.

7. Nirvana Meditation Pagoda
Nirvana Meditation Pagoda in Vung Tau, also known as the Reclining Buddha Pagoda, was built by Venerable Thich Thien Hue from 1969 to 1974 on the Small Mountain ridge, in the center of Bai Dua, behind a vast sala forest, and facing the vast sea. This is a monumental structure consisting of many houses, covering an area of nearly 10,000m2. The main gate stands out with the four large characters 'Nirvana Meditation Pagoda', with two couplets on the sides 'The reclining Buddha manifests, saving sentient beings, understanding heart, liberating feet. The meditation pagoda shines brilliantly, revealing the main law as Buddha.' Inside are two large statues of Mr. Thien and Mr. Ac standing guard at the door. To the right of the gate is a 4m high, 2m wide relief sculpture depicting a dragon horse stepping on waves.
In front of the main hall is a 21m tall flagpole, made into 42 steps symbolizing the 42 first Buddhist scriptures transmitted to Vietnam in the 2nd century. The flagpole is cast in concrete, gradually narrowing from bottom to top, surrounded by yellow and red glazed tiles, with three lotus branches spreading outwards in all directions, a unique feature of the Nirvana Meditation Pagoda. Here is also the large bronze altar of the Four Supernatural Beings 'Dragon, Lion, Turtle, Phoenix', exquisitely decorated, a treasure of the pagoda. The Meditation Pagoda's main hall is located on the 1st floor, accessible via 37 wide steps.

8. Sacred Mountain Pagoda

12. Thắng Tam Shrine
This shrine is located right at 77 Hoang Hoa Tham Street - one of the streets close to Vung Tau's back beach. Therefore, this place is not only known to local people but also frequently visited by tourists. Currently, inside this ancient shrine, there are 3 relics ranked by the state including: Thắng Tam Shrine, Ngũ Hành temple, and Cá Ông mausoleum. This shrine was built in 1802 under the reign of King Minh Mạng. Initially, the shrine was just built as leaf-walled thatched houses. Then, in 1835, it was roofed and finally, in 1965, the shrine was renovated and decorated until today.
In the past history, the Ben Nghe River area was often raided and ravaged by pirates, disrupting Vietnamese trade. To end this situation, King Gia Long dispatched 3 captains to maintain order. By 1822, when the situation had stabilized, the king ordered demobilization and rewarded the 3 captains with the administration of 3 villages. Not only a spiritual shrine, bearing many meanings of cultural history, Thắng Tam Shrine regularly holds peace-seeking festivals attracting many international tourists, especially coastal residents.
