Tan Loc Islet is situated at the border of three provinces: Đồng Tháp, An Giang, and Cần Thơ. Can Tho Museum, covering an area of nearly 3000m2, is a place that showcases and introduces artifacts related to the history of Can Tho's land and people throughout different historical periods. It highlights the economic, cultural, and social achievements of the Kinh, Hoa, and Khmer ethnic groups in the region during the nation-building and preservation process, along with the growing prosperity of the Western capital today.
The museum has 2 floors. The ground floor provides an overview of the natural and social characteristics of ancient and modern Can Tho, introducing geographical location, land, climate, flora and fauna, landscapes, and the cultural identity of the three ethnic groups: Kinh, Khmer, and Chinese. It also exhibits photographs of Can Tho from the past to the present. The second floor displays the history of the local people's resistance against foreign invaders, including the war against the French and the Americans. It showcases weapons, war achievements, and Vietnam War history.
Among the exhibited artifacts, there are many intriguing items, such as butterflies, insects, and flowers preserved in transparent resin and shiny gold. Notable are the eight black-winged Buddha statues, taller than an arm, carved from jade-like resin, changing to an emerald green color when illuminated.

18. Phat Hoc Pagoda
Phat Hoc Pagoda has a long-standing history. Formerly the headquarters of the Southern Vietnam Buddhist Association in Can Tho province, it was constructed by the association in 1951. Originally, the pagoda had only 3 floors with relatively simple architecture. In 2012 - 2014, the pagoda underwent a major renovation, transforming into a 5-story building, majestically situated in the heart of the city, opposite the Munirensay Khmer Pagoda.
The pagoda has experienced many generations of abbots. Venerable Thich Thien Phuoc became the abbot in 1965, serving the longest term. He passed away in 1993. Venerable Thich Minh Thong succeeded as the abbot, continuing to contribute significantly to the role of the pagoda in local Buddhist activities.
The pagoda's architecture is similar to many typical pagoda styles in the Southern region, featuring a large main hall with multiple entrances and spacious, airy surrounding corridors. When viewed from the outside, the pagoda gate is tall, with a small courtyard shaded by ancient trees and adorned with various Buddha statues.
