1. DA NANG DETERMINED TO FIGHT THE PANDEMIC
Poem by Lan Vương
The beautiful coastal city Da Nang
My Khe beach now silver grays the heads
The dreamy and painful Han River
The Dragon Bridge sad and silent
Because Da Nang is sinking in the pandemic
SARS - COVID returns and reigns
Pity the once vibrant city
People in pain, the sick endure with sorrow
When danger arises, every home unites
All regions weave determination together
The dedicated doctors with vision
Rush to the front silently saving the people
The fierce epidemic gradually subsides
For the Southern land to endure forever
Determined to drive away the evil plague
So Da Nang's sky will shine on the blue sea.

2. MISSED AUTUMN
Author: Đào Mạnh Thạnh
Rain pours in these late summer days
Sadness hangs in the air like blooming red phoenix flowers
Autumn arrives, yet why is the wind still raging madly
Destroying the hopes nurtured for countless days
The virus twists fate once again in Da Nang
And the central region mourns with painful hair loss
Enough, my dear, I must hit the road again
Leaving the beloved outbreak zone reluctantly
With passion and a compassionate spirit
Together, our people unite with determined hearts
Defeat the virus, chase away the common enemy
This tradition is the epic anthem forever
Throughout Vietnam's enduring battles, we fear no enemies
So, the Virus will probably find peace again
After the pandemic, autumn will return to its purity
My sweet, sincere words wait for you
Vietnam, for a thousand generations, remains undying
Resolute spirit, unity of the Party and the people
Everywhere, everyone contributes their part
Distancing near or far, we collectively enjoy the triumph
For the nation, for the land, rivers, and mountains
Strive forward steadily toward the future
After the pandemic, that dream will extend
That enduring happiness, in the future, will be known...
Hai Phong: 11-8-2020

3. YEARNING FOR MY KHE BEACH
Poem: Thanh Hà
Any pain can be called by name
Days of separation without you
The sea is calm, waves lonely on the missed appointment day
Covid, overflowing with an unnamed longing.
Constricted waves, painful contemplation every night
Da Nang endures in the heart of the storm
Deserted sandy shore, lying in its autumn, hallucinating
Sea's salty tears, poignant, sorrowful, and profound...
Faraway echoes, many white funeral bands
Sow death and desolation across the streets
On small streets, hurried footsteps
Alleys are melancholy, parks are sparsely populated.
Smile, dear Da Nang!
The whole country loves, earnestly, the human sentiment.
Together we block the Covid species
For life's waves to harmonize with the blue sea.
My Khe, gentle and kind, we promise to meet again, my love.

4. PROUD TO BE VIETNAMESE
Author: Dao Manh Thanh
She lived in China
But why did they come to our land?
These people were never clear
Their malicious intentions always lurk in our country
Been through many battles
Never giving up for our peace
Lost some battles with elegance
But the wolf's heart is still there
They create secret paths
Spreading diseases to our beautiful land
Da Nang, a beautiful strip of land
Now suffering from the disease spreading
Today, the epidemic has spread
North to South, everyone can hear the cries
All the people of Vietnam
Spirit of solidarity, everyone joins hands
Wearing masks, keeping distance immediately
If suspicious, report it to the authorities
Don't sacrifice the hair for money
Stop illegal border crossings
Worthy of the descendants of Uncle Ho
A hot bloodline proudly carries the red flag
Vietnam, forever proud
Indomitable spirit, countless noble sentiments
Here, the beautiful country
Dispelling the epidemic, a bright dawn
People cheering everywhere
Proud, how many of us, the people of VIETNAM.
Hai Phong: August 18, 2020

10. I LONG TO RETURN TO DANANG WITH YOU...
Poetry by Tran Loc
I long to return to Danang with you, immediately
Remembering Cu Lao in those days of azure skies
Golden sunlight caressing inviting waves
The wind, endlessly gentle, admiring the lulling sea
Lovingly, the Han River welcomes the autumn quietly
A stream of contemplation towards those days
When the SARS epidemic had not yet returned
Next to the Dragon Bridge, fireworks forever illuminate
How can we forget the sweet kiss of Ba Na Hills
Walking across the Golden Bridge in the evening glow
In the midst of the sky, exchanging promised words
The scene of Non Nuoc Pagoda - Marble Mountains
My Khe, please, do not be upset
I will send a breeze to dispel the pandemic
Returning the sea to those joyful days
The waves will laugh again... we excitedly together
Danang, oh dear, so much love... even in the days of pain
COVID, please, stop quickly
Let the Nam O Sea remain forever blue for you
So that Son Tra never fades its autumnal colors.
Ninh Binh, 14.8.2020

12. DANANG, THE BELOVED
Poetry: Pham Thi Hong Thu
Oh dear Da Nang!
News of the pandemic relentlessly hits
Pity those who depart silently
Love for those wholeheartedly devoted to the cause
Many nights battling the virus in solitude
Da Nang, a hero in two battles
Patriotism still shines in the eyes
This formidable enemy may hide its face in danger
Da Nang, resilient, always boldly advancing
The whole nation stands united with Da Nang in the forefront
The strength of the people always ready to be present
Da Nang, enforce the strictest measures
Even in the face of the elusive Covid
Peaceful days for Da Nang are approaching
The city worth living becomes even more vibrant
All around the world, the dreamy Da Nang beckons
To love Da Nang for a lifetime, a love mark
Oh Da Nang, deeply missed and loved!...

13. DANANG, THE CITY OF LOVE.
Poetry by: NGA LE
The Wedding Room hasn't yet embraced the scent of happiness
A backpack on my shoulders, I hastily hit the road
Parting with you, amidst countless memories and affection
Farewell for now! The Homeland is beckoning
Don't be saddened when the rainstorm arrives
Close the door to the room to lessen the chill, hear me, my love
I depart due to my responsibilities
A soldier never retreats, my dear
The silent frontline, where the sound of guns doesn't echo
The pandemic silently wreaks havoc, claiming our people's lives
17 individuals lie down in sorrowful silence
Death silently spreads, the grasp of COVID
Quang Nam land, gentle and affectionate
The vast sea, Danang with its waves crashing ashore
The Golden Bridge, resembling a poetic verse
Now, the pandemic renders everything desolate and lonely
Resolutely join hands with Quang-Da to share the burden
United, facing and easing the difficulties
Our white-clad selves, unburdened by hesitation
With colleagues, enduring and sharing the hardships
The sun rises in vibrant Vietnam.
Welcome the golden autumn in the triumph of glory
You and I will visit the Golden Bridge
Where our happiness is a perpetual dream.

14. ISOLATION.
Author: Le Ba Man
Isolate, again we must isolate.
Couples bid silent farewells, words choked in their throats.
COVID, an uninvited guest.
Danang, it arrives and leaves an indelible mark.
It spreads instantly, no delay.
How many infected, what's the use of counting now.
Isolate quickly, isolate immediately.
Nurses, doctors tirelessly advance day and night.
Determined to fight united.
Chasing the enemy COVID, hoping for peace.
Waving goodbye to family.
Into the hospital, giving their all for the people.
Departing without hesitation.
It's a command of compassion, unwavering.
Fourteen days of isolation, that's the rule.
Any longer, there's no room for hesitation.
Frontline against the stubborn epidemic.
Hoping for victory, driving away the evil.
Chase away the CORONA entirely.
People rejoice, a celebration of tranquility.

15. PRIDE OF DANANG
Poetry: Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh
In love with the Central region's land
Sunburned, a region enduring storms.
Once fought and achieved victory
Foreign invasions defeated, resilience in the stormy wind.
Today, Danang stands proudly
United against the epidemic, fearless of dangers.
Striking to eliminate COVID
The Dragon Bridge will overflow with joy again.
The nation shares sweetness and bitterness
Together with Danang, pushing back against COVID.
Danang, valiant and persistent
Fighting COVID for the entire nation.
The Han River flows calmly
Cleansed from the shadow of COVID, people rejoice.
Proud Danang, steadfast and true
On the day of triumph over the epidemic, a jubilant celebration.

16. DON'T BE SAD, DANANG
Poetry: Nguyen Dinh Hung
Thinking about Danang these past weeks
The epidemic surges, breaking this land
Tourism, businesses hit hard
Sudden upheaval shatters the peace.
Heartbreaking, hundreds infected (*)
Sickness, lonely deaths, no visits allowed
Hospitals overwhelmed beyond capacity
Tien Son Hospital transforms to accommodate the fallen
Epidemic prevention, isolating the spread
Each household with ration cards for groceries
Graduation exams postponed
Livelihoods become excessively challenging.
Don't be sad, dear beloved Danang
The whole country will stand together, unwavering
Organizations, entrepreneurs contributing their efforts
COVID will surely meet its end
We'll return to visit every place
Han River, fireworks lighting up the sky
Ba Na Hills lively, welcoming tourists
Happiness, peace, laughter everywhere./.
Hanoi, August 12, 2020
Footnote: (*) From July 25 to August 12, 2020, the total number of SARS-CoV-2 infections related to Danang is 419, with 17 deaths.

17. DANANG, STAY STRONG IN BELIEVING VICTORY!
Author: Pham Hong Soi
From the once vibrant silhouette, Danang now stands fragile
A sweet city where many dreams unfold
People dream to visit and marvel at this place
Golden Bridge
Ba Na Hills
My Khe Beach
An Bang Beach
Hoi An Show memories
Mineral springs of prosperity...
And many rendezvous... now fallen into the heart of the pandemic
This battle, when will it find its end
Danang strives to crush the spreading epidemic
In recent days, humanity holds back tears
Some nations wave white flags bidding farewell to the unfortunate
Cold sorrow blankets countless graves
Those lost, those surviving taste the bitterness
This campaign, the entire country joins hands
Oh Danang! Stay strong in believing victory
Doctors, soldiers, police... countless sacrificing silently
Night after night, giving their all for beloved Danang!

18. REMINISCING ABOUT DANANG
Poetry by Trang Thanh Xuan
Hearts forever turn to Danang
Hearing the profound sadness, the soul aches
A homeland once beautiful and prosperous
Hoping the pandemic quickly retreats
Seeing the landscape, a bitter and poignant taste
Sympathy for those in agony, questioning why
Compassion in the gloominess of sorrows
Choked up, tears flowing like restrained pearls
May happiness fulfill the long-awaited days
The Han River brings forth love
The Dragon Bridge shines brightly through the streets
Hands together weaving the fragrance of lifelong affection.

19. COVID CANVAS
Poetry by Son Nu
The Covid species is truly relentless
You've stirred up chaos in Europe and America
From Asia, Africa to Australia, everyone is in turmoil
You're mysterious, no remedy has been found
Together with Danang and all over the country
We're gradually controlling you to stop spreading
For months, we've been at the safety threshold
Now you're back, disrupting everything once again...
The world is extremely furious
Seeking ways to eradicate you
You smirk, living each day
A constant threat that piles up
You're malicious, causing harm upon arrival
Your actions are ruthless, diabolical, never ceasing
Hundreds of thousands... you pause and resume
Where are you coming from, concealing yourself so thoroughly?
The Covid disaster is immeasurable
Affecting lives and economies incessantly
Global outbreaks persist everywhere
The world seems to be sitting on embers.
Son Nu, August 12, 2020

20. City in the Pandemic Season
Poetry by Binh Dia Moc
The road sees fewer footsteps
Scattered imprints startle the deserted courtyard
A silent red light at the crossroads
Listen to the hurried breaths, masks rustling
White paint marks zigzag lines
Wavering steps, waves overflowing in the noon heat
The orchid fragrance gently sways
Awnings silent, no music softly humming
A small drop of coffee, eroding the ice
Illuminates indifferent eyes still dreaming
Fingers in agreement, blurry in obscurity
Square tables bearing flags and skewers
The sad city plays its own melody
Beneath rows of sacred green leaves
Roofs lonely, taxed and solitary
The cold mist shivers and shudders
Hiding in the shadows, folk songs
Lotus buds bloom on grandma's chest
Double doors open with hope
Going anywhere, always circling the embankment
You, with a net in your hands, the passion
Leading me astray in the bustling abundance
The city in the pandemic season murmurs
Charity hearts burst forth in human life
Saigon, April 2020

21. Da Nang in Our Hearts
Poetry by Hong Ngoan
A heavy heart for the Central region
Da Nang, our beloved, is deeply cherished
Calamity strikes this blessed land
Covid arrives, twisting our hearts in pain...
Oh Dragon Bridge, enduring for a thousand years
Carrying aspirations to the vast sea
Like a fire burning within, tumultuous
Wrapped in the legend of Marble Mountains
Ba Na Hills, mystical with mist
Along with the wind, it feels like a fairyland
A day encompasses all four seasons
Visitors leave, unable to escape awe
My Khe Beach entices, captivating
Where the blue waves embrace the day and night on white sand
The green pine forest stands silently by the shore
Returning to My Khe, cleansing the dust of life
Da Nang now, footsteps are not bustling
As the pandemic silently creeps
Still striving day and night to resist
Longing for peace to return here
The whole country stretches out its arms
Together with Da Nang, driving away the covid species
The melody of the Central region resounds lively again
We return to the dream of peace

22. Isolation
Alone inside the house
The neighbor doesn't bother to come over
Outside, a leaf conserves words
Lying down, listening to the April wind's movement
Across the river, it seems deserted
Nowhere to go, not even thinking of leaving
A meal with a pair of clattering chopsticks
A plate of boiled morning glory, delicious no matter how
On this side, the river lulls its child
A lullaby gently whispered through the land
The field is plowed, the shirt is tattered
Bent back, the hat falls, covering completely
Now, who will tell me
The station is empty, the bus stop has few people
The flower stall lacks a fresh bloom
A bride, a radiant smile
Now, it's just me
I await a self-told tale over the phone
The neighbor's voice suddenly resonates
Eavesdropping on me, what's the story?
Ho Chi Minh City, 4.2020

23. Face Mask
A rosy mask covers her face
Noon, the sun waits, distant and round
Life's path, crowded and ephemeral
Her path, also meandering, lost in the past
Gazing at the pitiful red lips
Thinking to call her to stop, but then just watching
The mask conceals the shape of her lips
Any word spoken startles, afraid of being wrong
Silence, fearing colors will fade
Her countenance originally just one or two springs
Yet, she keeps relying
The heart has its way of speaking when it needs to
The mask covering her mouth
Where time slowly gnaws, aging gradually
One afternoon, the wind jests
Forgetting the strands of gray in the season of love
A hand waves amidst the impermanent
Just realizing the faint powder and the yielding lipstick
The tightly covered mask and the worn-out path
On the other side of the bridge, the bend twists
On this side, vehicles circulate
Who knows where those days of hardship have gone
Life's road, those ahead, those behind
The mask conceals, what do we see?
