The lineups below are proving to be exceptionally strong in the Arena of Legends.
Sharpshooters - Duelists
One of the most noteworthy changes in the recent 12.12b update of the Arena of Legends is the considerable power boost given to the Elderwood tribe. Firstly, the number of Elderwood champions available in the shop will now prioritize increasing to 3 rather than the previous 2. Additionally, Skarner also receives a significant shield increase from his ability, making him much more resilient than before. This has resulted in all compositions utilizing Elderwood becoming significantly stronger.
Among these, Sharpshooters - Duelists are reaping the greatest benefits. This is a rare case where Skarner is utilized even in the later stages of the match. With the boosted Elderwood effect, players can more easily acquire a 3-star Illaoi and Varus than before. Furthermore, with Assassin compositions (particularly Diana) no longer as prevalent due to substantial nerfs, the Sharpshooters - Duelists lineup has even more opportunities to excel.
Emerald Shard
Despite not receiving a direct power boost, the reduction in strength of key champions like Corki, Xayah, assassins... has made Emerald Shard considerably more effective. Simply put, with the decreased damage output of these champions, the healing effect of Emerald Shard becomes significantly more impactful. This enables Emerald Shard compositions to excel in engagements and leverage Shi Oh Yu's potent damage output for victory.
When it comes to team composition, you'll still rely on champions like Ezreal, Karma, Ashe, and Taric early on to maintain health, then gradually transition to Anivia later in the game. A small note is that in the late game, supplementing with Mystery champions like Bard, Lulu is advisable to counter Spellcaster compositions or champions like Ao Shin, Aurelion Sol. You could even equip Dragon's Claw onto Shi Oh Yu to allow this champion to deal damage more freely.
Dark Star - Duelist
With the significant power boosts in the recent 12.12b update, the resurgence of Dark Star is easily understandable. Even the core champion of this lineup, SyFen, receives a plethora of benefits with basic attack damage, ability damage, and energy all significantly increased. When combined with other Duelist champions, SyFen becomes a formidable force with immense damage output but also challenging to take down.
To efficiently construct this lineup, it's recommended to equip SyFen with Bloodthirster, Giant Slayer, and Redemption. These items will greatly enhance the survivability of this champion in engagements and allow for multiple skill activations. Infinity Edge isn't necessary for SyFen as this champion already deals considerable damage with their abilities. Improving resilience and resistance to effects would be far more beneficial for SyFen.
