1. Old Town Cafe
Call NowSituated inside Dong Van's Old Town, this century-old house is easily spotted amidst the tourist destination. Despite the ups and downs of the ancient street, the house remains nearly intact, showcasing a fusion of Vietnamese and Chinese architecture. Like many other ancient houses in this rocky plateau, it carries the Vietnamese-Chinese architectural imprint with its two floors, corridors, and wooden railings.
On weekends, the cafe becomes a lively hub. People outside engage in games and group singing, while inside, patrons can sip their coffee amidst the lively atmosphere. The vibrant tunes of traditional songs and graceful Lolo dance performances create a warm and intimate ambiance, even for those unfamiliar with the lyrics and melodies.
For a serene space, choose a corner in Old Town Cafe. Just a few steps away from the bustling Old Town, the interior of Old Town Cafe is tranquil, exuding a nostalgic charm. The first floor features bamboo tables and chairs set around the corners, while the second floor offers a cozy coffee area overlooking the old town. The only source of light here comes from red lanterns, combined with the natural color of raw bricks, creating a mysterious atmosphere.
Select a table with a view of the front coffee area to enjoy a private space yet still be part of the lively atmosphere. In the warmth of your coffee cup, you can feel the breeze through the house's open windows. 3. Northern Peak Cafe
Call NowThis is a cafe situated in the remote village at the northernmost part of our homeland. Phin-brewed coffee, stylish free Wi-Fi not inferior to urban areas surprises many tourists when visiting the Lung Cu flagpole. Northern Peak Cafe, built by Mr. Ogura Yasushy - a Japanese individual deeply in love with Ha Giang - is a unique coffee shop. He invested approximately 200 million VND to create this distinctive coffee shop and later handed it over entirely to a Lolo family to run the business.
The architecture of the cafe follows the traditional style of the Lolo people, with walls made of clay and earth, yin-yang tiled roofs, and stone walls surrounding it. From the outside of Northern Peak Cafe, looking into the distance, everyone can see the Lung Cu flagpole with the Vietnamese flag fluttering in the wind. Just under 1 km walk from the cafe, visitors will reach the border milestone 419.
The cafe's space is not large, with only about 4 to 5 small, cute tables set outside the courtyard, right next to the bar counter, suitable for around 10 people to sit. After a long journey to Ha Giang, revisit Northern Peak Cafe, sip on a cup of black coffee or green tea, taste the renowned corn wine, and peer through the triangular window on the wall to listen to the distant birdsong. You will feel the entire land and sky of Ha Giang seep into your tongue and your heart.
