1. Xingqiu
Despite being a 4-star character, Xingqiu stands out as one of the strongest support characters in the game. His ability to deal damage is impressive, considering he's primarily a support character. Xingqiu's versatility is his key strength.
Both his elemental skill and burst provide numerous benefits to the team, including damage, elemental reactions, interruption resistance, and healing. Remarkably, Xingqiu doesn't even need to be on the field to offer support. Teaming up with Hu Tao, Xingqiu triggers vaporize reactions with massive combined damage. The combination of the Coco Goat clan and the owner of Wanwen Bookhouse is truly formidable.
2. Yelan
Ever since Yelan debuted, many players believed that the tea shop owner is a perfect replacement for Xingqiu. However, over time, a multitude of players have proven that a perfect team for Hu Tao may even require both of these characters. In such cases, Hu Tao benefits maximally, enjoying the combined Elemental Resonance of Hydro, boosting her maximum HP by 25%.
Even when used alone, Yelan's strengths shine brightly. She swiftly generates Hydro seals and exhibits decent crowd control abilities. Moreover, Yelan's Burst skill provides impressive damage potential comparable to Xingqiu.
3. Bennett
Bennett, a Pyro character, is highly favored by many players in both support and damage dealer roles. He synergizes well with a team featuring Hu Tao as the main DPS. Bennett's Burst skill is incredibly handy, providing both offensive capabilities and healing. This is especially great for Hu Tao, who needs to sacrifice a significant portion of her HP for maximum damage output.
The fact that Hu Tao and Bennett share the Pyro element also enhances elemental resonance, granting Hu Tao an additional 25% damage boost, allowing her to deal even more damage over prolonged periods.
4. Zhongli
Zhongli is considered a suitable addition to a team featuring Hu Tao, thanks to the excellent shield provided by the Geo Archon. In a supportive role, Zhongli buffs other characters and offers exceptional crowd control resistance. With Zhongli's shield, players can even disregard Hu Tao's critically low HP and focus on executing combo attacks freely.
A crucial aspect for players to note is that Zhongli's strength scales with current HP, making him a character worth leveling to 90 when possible, rather than stopping at level 80. Additionally, the Burst skill of the Geo Archon delivers formidable damage, especially when swapping characters to initiate new combo sequences.
