- If Hoang Kieu leaves a will specifying her inheritance, she will receive whatever is stated.
- If there is no will, Ngoc Trinh is considered a primary heir (Article 651 of the Civil Code). With five children, the estate would be divided into six equal parts, and Ngoc Trinh would receive 483 million USD.
- If Hoang Kieu has a will but Ngoc Trinh is not mentioned, since they are legally married, she will inherit a portion of the estate regardless of the will’s contents (Article 644 of the Civil Code). As a non-designated heir, she would receive two-thirds of the portion allocated to other named heirs. In this case, Ngoc Trinh would inherit 322 million USD (483 million USD x 2/3).
